On the basis of correspondence with a couple of programs (reminding applicants not to call the office, pushing back expected interview notification dates), it seems there's an unexpectedly high volume of applications this cycle.
Anyone get IV from any California program?
Thanks a lot, are you USMD?UCLA (Geffen) 08/05

Lord Baelish, I heard nothing all week then two today. Is it all over? most programs done with giving interviews?
Any one with insight into Michigan progs other than univ of Michigan n how they are? Also anyone heard from them?
Is it all over? most programs done with giving interviews?
No, still a lot of programs left that haven't sent out interviews.
All the best for this weekWe only heard from 38 of more than 130 programs. Also there is 2th, 3th and 4th batches of ivs. The last IV from 2015 was NYMC on 10/21. So I think we still have time. I read all the previous application threads, and I think the next 4 to 6 weeks are especially active for imgs.

So you got an interview over the weekend?
So you got an interview over the weekend?
Yes - Sunday at 8:30PM.
Awkward problem: I've gotten several interviews at decent places (9 total at this point). Today, literally every single one of my co-applicant-residents (5 in total that I know of) got interviews at our home program for the exact same date (presumably it's an internal candidate date) - except me. I really want to stay at my home program, so getting this home interview is pretty much everything to me - I'm not sure if it was an oversight or if it was intentional. I don't think I'm a horrible applicant because I have gotten some interviews that I know others at my program haven't gotten, but who really knows, it's never that simple.
Do I (a) wait a week (? a day ? 2 days ? 2 weeks) and then "confirm that my application materials were received" or "ask about my possible interview status"? (b) ask an ally attending to subtly check in with the program director about whether or not I was supposed to get an interview? (c) silently suffer in silence indefinitely -- if I'm not invited then I clearly have my answer and asking will just be awkward for everyone (d) do something completely different like write a letter of interest (?)
Also (assuming I ask something) would I ask the PD or his secretary or someone else?
Serious answers would be appreciated, snark would be less appreciated. I've had a rough week for many reasons, so some reasonable advice is what I need.
If I were you, I would start by e-mailing or meeting program coordinator asking if your application was reviewed. If your application is not reviewed, I would send e-mail to program director requesting to review application. But if matching at home institution was everything to me, I would personally have a meeting with program director irrespective of application review status.Awkward problem: I've gotten several interviews at decent places (9 total at this point). Only got 3 interviews so far, IMG need visa. Have a decent application and a year of research under my belt... Gotten double the number of rejections.... Should I just hang tight? Its a little nerve racking to see my counterparts at 9-10 interviews!!!
