Official Interview Invite thread 2015 Cycle

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Just got an interview at Texas Tech Lubbock on 8/20. What do people think of doing three interviews back to back? 8/20, 8/21, and 8/22? I go to school in Ohio, but live in TX. I could get three interviews out of the way this way before heading up to college, saving a lot of plane ticket money. The cons being the stress of doing three in a row obviously.

I would definitely do this.

I recommend against scheduling interviews one day apart. Last cycle I scheduled two interviews one day apart with a flight in between and I was so sleepy all day during my second interview, which could have gone much better if I weren't. If at all possible, please give yourself at least a day to recharge.

Well I'd be driving between them. It's 5 hours from day one to day two and then two and a half hours from day two to day three. So manageable if someone else is with me and helping me drive. Especially since the interview days are over between 4 and 5 pm. I'm still obviously weighing pros and cons... so we'll see.

Take a friend, grab some kolaches from Czech Stop, and make it happen- you'll be thankful later for any pennies you can save now!

Taking a friend with you has the added benefit of someone to keep you rational/calm/grounded. Other people will have different opinions, of course, but if I were you I would do all three in a row. It'll be amazing to have them done before school starts. But it kinda comes down to how well you'll handle the pressure of interviews. If you're able to roll with the punches, and recover from any less-than-stellar interviews, then you should absolutely go back to back, in my opinion.

EDIT: I take back a little (though not all) of what I said, upon reading @Selladore235's advice. I think taking the middle day off might help you reset a little and prepare for the next interview. Cause part of interview successes come from really preparing -- learning about the institution, reading about what kinds of interview styles they have, typical questions they might ask, coming up with your own questions... doing that in the car might not work so well.

Two schools, maybe. Three is excessive. You're going to need to be on it all day during your interview day, which can be exhausting. Trust me, you'll be tired after one day and exhausted after two. Please don't do three in a row. If you're particularly interested in a school then why put anything less than your best foot forward? That's what you'll end up doing. Maybe reschedule your middle interview and keep the other two as is?

Here's a push back to the top of the forum in preparation for any II that may come out this week. Keep the list coming. I'll re-post it here!

It would help if peeps highlight the school that sent the II, so it's not hard figuring out which school they are talking about!

PS: I know you are just adding to the list, but still :)

I think it would be helpful if we changed it to when interviews are getting sent out, vs only the very earliest... For example make a list for a certain school like VCU - 7/20/14, 7/23/14, 7/25/14 etc. This way people can see when batches of interview invites a released. If this is a bad idea, someone please correct me.

& Thank you @hellanutella for updating with new information. I'll repost the last one to change the directions.

Yeah cause I wasn't sure either. It would be nice to know though!

None of the Texas ones are ED, but their application opens much earlier in the cycle (May 1) so a July II isn't actually that early.

Are most of these interview invites early decision applicants?

The the II's I've seen on sdn thus far have been regular decision.

Also: disappointed with Monday. I was hoping a bunch of new schools would just start pouring a whole bunch of IIs out! We need more action in the SSD forum.
