My pup ate part of my tv remote while
I was at practice today. He's never chewed on anything before... He doesn't even like dentastix! And he ate all of his food this morning.. I don't understand what's up with him. Anyway... Bloody vomit and stool so I'm at the vet's hoping the x-rays will show something good. Especially since rent and all my bills are due next week. I guess this is why I got a credit card :/ also have never had an accident like this happen before so I'll have to talk to his insurance provider to see if I can get anything back. Sigh

Yeeeee the dr said the pieces are small enough that they should pass through with ease! Just gave me some meds to treat his nausea and said to monitor him closely until I take him to his recheck appointment :D

pretty sure i just made the most awful and disgusting cake ever. gluten free for a friend with celiac disease but grenada has extremely limited options. betty crocker has some pretty fabulous gluten free mixes, but this company is terrible! :annoyed:
 
Talking about a study where "these poor research cats" were given excess doxorubicin to see side effects, onco specialist says, "I don't think a veterinary would have done something like that"...what? Here you are showing us radiation burned animals and animals with half their faces hacked off so they can live a few more months but researchers are evil?

Add that on to another lab animal post on facebook this weekend ("not necessary in 2014", same girl all excited about brain cancer developments for children working at HSUS) and I'm feeling cranky. Hrpmh.
 
I AM A FREAKING ADULT. I HAVE BEEN LIVING ON MY OWN FOR OVER TWO YEARS. LET ME MAKE MY OWN FREAKING DECISIONS. Fml.

Ugh, my mom was the same way when I first moved off campus. She has laid off a lot, but mainly because I pay for my own living expenses now. Anyways, you live in OH and she lives in NJ, right? How much influence does she really have so many states away? ;)

Found out today that I tore my ACL & MCL at SAVMA symposium in Colorado :( Looking at doing surgery in 5 weeks at the beginning of IP 5 which is supposed to be the easiest block here at Mizzou. The Doc said I could have surgery on a Wednesday and be back in school on crutches on Monday. Pretty bummed, but when I saw my MRI yesterday I knew my ACL was toast. Now to start rehabbing it to get some range of motion back and start moving forward!

My big cuddly ham of a ferret, Darwin, has been seeming off this week. He had an appointment with our exotics service for some diagnostics today. I am really really really anxiously awaiting some of the results and worrying myself looking up similar cases on VIN. :( All of the things that I keep finding (with current info) are bad news and he's my baby...

Good luck on that! It will take you 5+x longer to get anywhere you need to go and will hurt like a bitch. :( Not going to sugarcoat it for you.
I would find a wheelchair to use at school and have your classmates wheel you everywhere! Will help a ton.

I had minor complications with mine though, and had to have my dog in a local boarding place for 2.5 weeks. I could barely handle getting up off the couch and going to the bathroom and doing PT, let alone letting her out to pee all the damn time.

I really hope it goes much better for you! I'm so sorry you have to go through it.

She's lucky to have great friends/roomies to drive her to doctor's appointments and cook for her :p

I was lucky it was my left leg, in regards to driving. :thumbup:
Friedns' and family were a godsend! (I live alone.)
 
Ugggghhhhh. As if blowing out the power steering and catching on fire weren't enough for one month, my truck seems to be having yet another mechanical issue. Worst possible week for it to happen too.

I'm okay with blaming absolutely everything on this bloody winter. Including the giant mud lake that has formed near my house that I fell into today while trying to walk to the Asian grocery. I just wanted some freaking canned iced coffee! And maybe some Pocky. :bigtears:
 
I'm totally ending today with wine and Ben and Jerry's.

Today was my first day working as a "Team Leader" at a shelter we volunteer at. So many things went wrong today (many wayyyy out of my control and other things I can definitely improve for next time) that we got out like a solid 2-3 hours later than we should have. Definitely not how I wanted my first day to be. Didn't help that I'm exhausted from a foal sitting shift last night, which already made me feel frustrated.

And a former classmate of mine died yesterday. Suicide is apparently suspected but he and I were pretty close in the beginning of semester but drifted apart later in the year. Totally didn't see it coming. =(

My car, which doesn't have air conditioning, decided that this was the week to have unresponsive windows. It's so hot...

To boot, I found out the other day that the guy I like doesn't think I'm his type.

And I've been applying to vet clinics and Petco, PetSmart, and Banfield and I have heard nothing. :C

I have screamed. Repeatedly. Right now, just going to Nova Scotia seems like a break. They're getting rain today.

ETA: And to redhead, AVC's resident meteorologist, predictions on school for tomorrow given the mess we're getting today and tonight?

Today was one of those emotionally devastating days.

Our clinic cat aspirated vomit while under anesthesia this morning (he had a lot of medical problems) and died this afternoon. Our first patient immediately afterward crashed the second we sedated to clear her airway and intubate and effused a huge amount of foam up the trach tube, two doctors performing CPR with the owner screaming. A half dozen euthanasias later one of our technicians brings her elderly dog in to be euthanized. Entire staff basically spent the day crying and monitoring every patient 10x more than normal out of sheer paranoia about it being a death day.

I'm not in that fandom, but from tumblr... I can tell it is a wreck after that 'so called finale' they aired. Not really sure what happened with it -shrugs-

I just finished up watching The Walking Dead season finale today... talk about having to wait until October to find out what happens next...

i'm pretty sure the bit that made me saddest is not the bit that had most people upset haha. its just kind of a bittersweet thing, i've been watching for years! i even had myself convinced for a time that a bit of the story line was mirroring my life and so clearly things were supposed to and would happen that way...i think i'm glad reality won that battle though!
 
It's always a bittersweet moment when a show you've been watching a long time ends- good or bad. No shame in it :p I still watch what some people consider kids shows but I got over that fact long ago.
 
The HIMYM finale was the worst thing I have ever watched. I'm so disappointed :(

People should play by the rules they make. You can't change the deal midway through a situation to suit your own agenda. Decisions should only be made based on common sense. Stop making important decisions based on your personal feelings of someone- especially since that has no bearing on the situation.
 
I just tried to dig my car and walkway out. That was pointless, before I'd even finished the wind was undoing my hard work. I hate this province, I hate this province, I hate this province...

I'm so depressed that it ended that way, they undid several years of great writing. :( I understand a bit of why they did what they did, but even when I look at it in that light (against my will :p) they still rushed everything into a few minutes.

bahahaha SDN is playing a trick on all of us By changing the letter pronounced "eye" into "me's" ... it did the same thing to me in the c/o 2017 thread and it was seriously making me mad bc 'eye' would edit it but it would show 'eyes' instead of me's... but would still show 'me' lol

'eye' also find it very annoying... looks they have done it to past posts too.
 
SDN always does SOMEthing for April 1st. Changing what people have posted is a bit different, but everything will go back to normal tomorrow. Your posts will no longer look derp.

But it will probably get worse before it gets better.
