They'll be right there, staring you in the face. The scores from the last time I took it are still there.

Man...I didn't know how good I had it during the practice test phase (not that I want to go back there!!!!!!)...finish the last bio question, click submit and do not void. Feel butterflies for a second (did I do okay? am I going to fail the mcat?!) and BAM score's right there in front of me. The good old days. Not to mention being able to go back and change all the answers/see what I got wrong etc.

as soon as you sign into thx, it's right there. no link to click on or anything. one moment you're signing in and the next moment it's in your face. BAM! i suggest you come with a plan like i did if you don't like things popping up like that.

It feels strange. Two months ago medical school was my only considerable option (I'm an electromagnetic and photonic engineer). Two weeks ago I was offered an EM and photonic engineer's wet dream. Working in Sandia National Labs building nuclear weapons. They would pay me 60% of my salary (~100k) and for graduate school at top tiered schools (MIT, Berkley, Texas A&M). Totally changes my emotional adherence to the MCAT.

I'm really having trouble with figuring out where I want to take my life.

True, but I can always go to medical school after graduate school. And I would be in school for another decade of my life (I want to go into neurosurgery). I love neuroscience so it would be fun but I also love money (I have expensive toys) and I wouldn't be going to med school for the money that's for damn sure.

Easier said than done. It's not a linear objective measurement. It's multidimensional with several unknowns. Very hard to make a confident decision. Especially for an analytical type like myself.

Awesome, we have similar interests. Thought about M.D./Ph.D. in Neuroscience? It takes around 7 years, not too bad. If you get in (which is quite hard), some schools automatically pay everything for you plus a stipend (not quite 100K/year though lol).

I made the decision to work in a field that I strongly disliked and made a lot of money. I then realized that I was very unhappy with what I was doing. No amount of money in the world would have kept me there. I found what I enjoy and am now persuing it.

Yeah, the irony between the two career paths is almost humorous. I wouldn't be going to med school to only save lives (I can argue I would be doing the same building nuclear weapons). The main reason for me going into medicine would be the interest in the physiological basis of mind. It's one of the greatest engineering feats performed by nature.
