Just got off the wait list at U of FL. Really excited since this was my top choice. I had already given up hope but today the phone rang and Dr. Vickroy was on it offering me the spot. Good luck to those of you who are still waiting! Most likely giving up my spot at Michigan so OOS watch out!

OOS- and with only 12 OOS spots, its a miracle I got in! Prob helped that I bugged them every 2 weeks or so with a waitlist update and with my desire to attend their school
 
oh and thanks everyone for the congratulations!!
 
Just got called off the Iowa State waiting list, so don't lose hope those waitlists are still moving 🙂
 
Someone in my class got called off the Tennessee waitlist as well. There's still hope! (they are declining the seat)

Thanks so much HandD42! I'm accepting the spot and soooooo excited! I loved ISU when I visited in January. I think I'm making a trip out next week to find a place to live.

it brightens my day to know there are still lucky students who are having their dream come true at this moment after being so disappointed earlier in the year. congrats everyone! And even if you declined, someone else will be lucky! 😀
 
Just got called off the University of Minnesota waitlist! Was #22 on the OOS list. Turned them down though, I'm super happy with my spot in UF, so #23 stay by your phone!

thanks!!! it seems sooooo surreal!!! I was working at the clinic and after a very interesting surgery I went to get my phone to get some pictures of my sutures and I saw 2 missed calls from the school- the 2 vets and 2 technicians were jumping up and down with me all excited and what not!!!! 🙂

so whoever is waiting on the KSU alternate list stay by your phones cuz I'm withdrawing my seat!!!

😱 Is there enough time for you to still get a VISA and fly over for the start of the course?? Grad entry for Edinburgh starts Aug 9th.

In case your VISA is not ready in time, you could try what I did (different country but i would guess it should work). I flew to Japan before I got my working visa but went in as a tourist. Then, when my visa was ready I had to fly to Hong Kong, get my visa from the Japanese embassy there and fly back. HK was the cheapest alternative.

Being in Europe it would seem to be easy to leave UK (not sure if you have to leave EU completely) for a long weekend get the visa and return. Worth looking into rather than missing out. Plus you get to visit another country 🙂!

Congrats August!!😀

One of my evaluators told me that on his first day of class 2 people did not show up so they called two people off the waitlist and they had to be their the next day for class😱 If that, by some weird stroke of luck:luck:, is me this year I will literally run the 180 miles to school! Congrats again!!!:clap:

This is pretty close to what happened to the vet who wrote my non-academic LOR as well. She worked at UF at the teaching hospital and was asked like a day before classes started if she still wanted to go. She also said nobody told her that they were supposed to dress professionally and she showed up in jeans the next day and everyone else was all nicely dressed, haha.
