Wait...done with all interviews? or just done w interviews for those going for the international program? last yr they were giving out interviews until mid feb...

Hello Everyone.......I just got my acceptance letter from UIC.Still cant believe my eyes........This is the happiest day of my life.........I Thank evryone who have helped me in this difficult path...I was interviewed on the 3rd Nov and got my letter just an hour ago!........All those waiting just hang on and ur call is not too far ....!

Here goes the banana dance ...waiting to do this since a year............

I have finally gotten my first acceptance letter from a school and that is from UIC! HERE IS MY BANANDA DANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:
I interviewd on Oct 30th and got my letter on Nov 13th!

From a Current IDDP student to Future IDDP student I wish you all the best and congrats !!!!

For those that are on alternate list, dont lose hope, they do call off that list.

has anyone else heard anything from them yet? Are they done with the selection process, just waiting anxiously since I havent heard from them in a while...has anyone received any rejection letters yet?
 
Hey guys, Just wanted to let you know that I got accepted to UIC but I will not be joining as I have also gotten accepted to California schools. Someone in waiting list will be hearing from them soon. Good luck to everyone!

As far as I know UIC is done conducting interviews. However, if you havent gotten any response just keep your fingers crossed as a lot of shuffling is going on between schools w/ people accepting/declining offers. Good luck!
 
I really appreciate toothfairy to come out and say it openly and help people like us who are desperately waiting to get admissions anywhere and in the waitlist.You have done a great job and commendable job NO ONE CARES TO WRITE ANYTHIGN OR TO HELP ANYBODY AFTER THEY GET THERE RESULTS.SO GUYS LIKE TOOTHFAIRY WHO HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED SHOULD COME OUT OPENLY AND WRITE ON SDN AND TRY TO HELP THOSE WHO ARE IN WAITLIST.PEOPLE LIKE TOOTHFAIRY482 AND MISSION ISP ARE THE REAL HEROES OF SDN WHO ARE REALLY HELPING OUT THE FELOW STUDENTS BY PASSING REAL INFORMATION,.THANKS TO YOU GUYS AND I AGAIN REQUEST ALL THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED TO UIC AND HAVE PLAS TO NOT TO ATTEND THERE JUST LET OTHERS KNOW.thanks to all of you and sorry if i mistakenly hurt any one's sentiments.

Yeah, toothfairy482 ... I appreciate your move and I request other SDNers too that everyone should openly inform about their preference changes and decline in any school offers, so that will give a neat idea to candidates about their chances who are eagerly waiting to hear from schools. I wish you folks all the best that everyone gets admission this year itself and my special good luck to ones who haven't made so far and are eagerly waiting to hear positively from the first school. Hope god helps achieve everyone's dreams.

My little contribution: alternate listed at UIC, haven't heard nothing yet but if I hear any positive, I will decline this seat immediately for you guys.

Hi SHibab, I received an email a month ago. Basically, It said that they have the 30 students, but if any seat become available then the people in alternate list will be call. And if the people in the alternate list decline the seat then maybe I will invite to the alternate list. I think is like saying no much chances ...🙁
I will prepare better this year :laugh:

hi everyone my stats are part1 -83
toefl-93 visa status- green card

i m planning to give part 2 this may and i m totally confused coz i donno if i should apply to UIC. it will be really appreciated if someone can advise me on the same. i m really freaked out..plz reply asap!😕🙁
 
You should apply, it does not hurt, get a good CV together and work experience. UIC is one of the schools that really DOES look the the whole application package.

'A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush'.Well you can reserve your seat there at NYU and go ahead with your application for UIC.Once you get into UIC,you can always forgo the NYU seat.So this way...you get the best of both the worlds.And,bye the way...Congratulations on your success!

thanks you so much mathew for your valuable advice..but nyu said that i will have to deposit 5000$ now only then will have to deposit the 1st semister fee by 1st may..and by the 1st may i will not be bale to know anything about UIC as they send the invitation around nov/dec..so i don't have the option of reserving my seat in nyu .It can be only possibel if deposit the 1st sem fee and thats lot 35000$.
 
Hey that's a tough decision that you gotta make.The college guys dont want to take chances either and i guess it takes a lot to interview a lot of candidates.Well! with your kinda score you have a great chance of getting into UIC.Lets hope for the best.Hope you'll be able to decide soon and whatever decision you go ahead with,at the end of two or three years you'll come out a great dentist.🙂

Its a big risk in my opinion.Unless you are sure to get into UIC dont loose your seat at NYU.However if you want to risk it don't pay the first year fees at NYU.

UIC is better than NYU?😕😕😕how can u compare the 2 progs?the only cons for NYU is :it is a 3 yrs prog....!!!yes..I do agree UIC is a 2yrs prog..but that does'nt make it better than NYU!!!:meanie:
 
I just got a call from UIC I was on the alternate list since November, I got accepted today. but I turned down the offer to go to TUFTS on April. So I think they will call someone from the list soon.
