Is it silly if I wished the campus were in Knoxville so I could enjoy Football Time in TN? Go Vols!
I think there is a web site that tells you everything you need to know. Do you still maintain a residence in TN? I was a TN resident and went to undergrad in GA but had a permanent address at my parents house in TN, so when I came back to TN I still was considered a resident even though I did not live in TN for 4 years! Now if you gave up your residency to be considered in-state in AZ (I went to a private college so there was no in-state or oos) then you will have to reestablish residency in TN. Also, if you marry a TN resident you can establish residency, thats what my wife did to get her in-state status for TN. I think there are other considerations for obtaining resident status. When I was 18 and moved to TN I was an adult but obtained resident status under my father and step-mother (I went to a college in TN for a short time before I went to GA). My dad had not lived in TN for even a year but my step-mother had been here for 20 years (they married the same year before I moved to TN from WA) and my address was her address so I got residency. In addition, I think you may be able to acquire residency in the time it takes to marticulate to medical school but I am not sure. I think when they ask on the application if you are a resident they mean right now. However, your status can change. Let UT know if you intend to change status though. They accept only 16-17 OOS applicants and there is nothing that says they have to. OOS applicants have a separate but shorter wait list. When an OOS applicant gives up their slot they will go down the OOS wait list until they get an applicant willing to go to UT. I hope all this helps to answer your question🙂Does anybody know if the residency requirements pertain to current residency? I went to undergrad at Vandy (graduated 2007) and obtained TN residency after living there for two years, but I have since moved to AZ and am a resident here now. I would looove to come back to TN for med school, but I have not even sent them a primary due to their stated residency req.
yeah i feel like the website said aug15 or sthg is when they start sending secondaries, so i figured i'd hear nothin til then.
edit: if the 2ndary = interview invite is true then that's kind of great. vandy's the only other place i've heard of that.
Word is that they are kinda behind schedule at this point. But yes I'm hoping for one too, especially with all the rumors that secondary = interview at UT.
just got mine. Guess they are going out this week!
I got mine as well!
However, I don't see any essays on this secondary. Am I missing something?

Secondary info form submitted around Aug. 14th. MCAT retake scores released on Aug. 30th.
You are assigned a day automatically and have one morning interview and one in the afternoon.

I sent in my application on Friday to the email address they provided, but I have not received a confirmation email or anything. Should I expect one or will the next contact be interview/rejection?
About how long after AMCAS verification have you guys been receiving secondaries?

Looks like the Holiday Inn Express is the closet hotel, can anyone confirm this??
I'm looking for the most convenient place to stay. Price irrelevant within reason.
. . . I wouldn't want to have to walk near the school at night though.
