guys, i think we are seeing a pattern here.
sarahgm got into unc i think 10/20 though

Even though ECU has rolling admissions, it seems (going through old threads) that they announced many decisions last year in May - even for those that interviewed early in the process. Does anyone know if they accept many throughout the year to start filling the class, or do they wait on most applicants until May to send a decision?

Well, I received a letter today from UNC saying that my application will be under active review.

At my interview thats what they said would most likely happen. A very small percentage of people get accepted initially, and they make a lot of the decisions in the spring. So check your mail?...

twinklz, thanks for the update. i know ecu and unc both are extremely slow. they just take their sweet time and leave us hanging till the last minute. kinda sucks.

Anyone hear from either of these schools last week? I thought someone mentioned that UNC would start sending out secondaries for August MCAT'ers around Thanksgiving...

heh, yeah, that was me. the thing about ECU is that they tend to reject people quickly-- in about 2 months. if you haven't heard from them, that's probably a good sign.

Right there with you Swiper, still waiting...anyone hear anything yet? Hopefully all this patience pays off, I had a great time at my interview at ECU and would love to go there.

Uh oh - I'm at the 6-wk point post-interview - a few more weeks and I'm clear... I guess this is a great example of "no news is good news!"

FYI: UNC waits until a little after March 15th to send rejection letters. In other words, it is a rolling admissions for acceptance and a pooled admissions for rejections. The closer to March 15th the lower the chance of getting an acceptance. (<-- my apologies to the optimistic).

This is not true... UNC can and will reject you pretty much whenever they want...

I know people that have been rejected within a month or so of their interview... That said, the majority of the people who interview at UNC get that "we've got you on file, please wait" type of letter that they send out just to buy time...

But... i just wrote this to let you guys know that UNC does not follow a certain date to start sending out rejections.

and I really dont know if the later it gets might be a bad thing or not... what usually happens is that UNC gives out a couple of acceptances to these really qualified applicants b/w August and December... they then wait for those guys to reject UNC... so they are then able to accept the students who got the "we've got you on file, please wait" letter... i hope that makes sense... good luck guys

Has anyone heard of other acceptances besides MLG to ECU? I have not even seen posts from Early Admission Acceptances. I was just wondering where the committee was on sending out letters. I'm now 3 months post interview and going crazy everyday I look in my mailbox.

Im a M1 at ECU and the motto is no news is good news. So the longer the wait the better. I know they are interviewing until April so many people wont hear anything until May bc they constantly compare early interview applications to later applications. Hope that helps a little. Best of luck!

That is totally true. I interviewed in March for the '07 class last year, and was waitlisted. But for that cycle I did not hear anything until the second week of May. I was definitely not expecting to hear anything this soon on my second go-round.

Why the heck wont these people just tell us if we are in or not already!!!! JEEEEEZ!

I am new to all this so I am not sure exactly how to post on the ECU/UNC thread, but I interviewed at ECU on 2/22 and at UNC on 2/23. I am still waiting to hear from both schools. Can some tell me how to put my info. on the thread so we can track our progress together. Thanks.

you interviewed at UNC on 2/23? today is 2/23. you don't get out of your interview til 3pm. hilarious. Do something.
