DAT Destroyer Gen Chem Questions problem 28
Im trying to understand the concept as well as math for problem 28 in the gen chem section of dat destroyer. If there is 1x10^-12 M HCl solution is that why water needs to be incorporated in the solution? Also, the solution says 1x10^-12 + 1x10-7 is around 1x10^-7. I don't understand how that...- jsk26

Help on DAT destroyer, General Chemistry - Ideal Gas Law
Hi, This is question 70 in the 2014 edition: 600 mL of a gas initially at 27 C and 755 torr will contain how many molecules? Answer: 1.5 x 10^22 molecules This answer was calculated using the ideal gas law. Even though these aren't standard conditions, should we use ideal gas law anyway if...- starsbeneathme

One semester of general chemistry?
Hi everyone, I have seen that most schools require 2 semesters of general chemistry. However, at my school, they have transitioned to teaching only one comprehensive semester of general chemistry. I am a recent graduate looking to apply this cycle, and I am concerned about what medical schools...- CavsFan2016

Chad's Videos Error
@ 16:40 of Nuclear Chemistry Video Fastmode in Chad's Videos he wrote the attached picture on the board. Shouldn't the # of protons be 91, not 93? http://imgur[DOT]com/gallery/CJ8arfD It appears that my image isn't working. Anyways, what he wrote on the board was that 238, 92 U ----> 2 alpha...- DMikes

Ea (activation energy) and constant k
Question: so in Chad's videos it is suggested that an increase in Ea (activation energy) causes a decrease in the reaction coefficient k, because an increased Ea will decrease the rate. However, in Princeton Review it is suggested that thermodynamics (i.e. Ea) are independent of kinetics (i.e...- briggsinator2

Boiling point comparison between of H2S, H2Se, H2Te
So the actual trend here is H2S<H2Se<H2Te. What I dont understant is that H2S has the strongest dipole dipole interaction and since dipole-dipole interaction is stronger than dispersion force, H2S really should have higher boiling point than H2Se but why is it the opposite?- Donchacka
