I got a secondary application from Nova. I also got letter from UoP telling me I better send them the application fee or there is no way in hell they are going to let me into their school. Is all the correspondence from dental schools this demanding and threatening?

btw, if anyone is applying to iusd, i think they start reviewing apps sometime in mid july and send out interview invitations in aug. i got mine on aug 11 last year and believe was the 1st group to be interviewed.

just kidding Kim. there is nothing to be scared of. just study about the school and gather as much info as you could from their website. checkout the interview feedback section of sdn and then go and do your interview. be yourself and you'll be fine.

I havent heard from AADSAS yet either, but my DAT scores are on their way, and should get there by the end of this week.

How long does it generally take for your info to be sent out? I'm #445 and according to info source, adea.org has only sent out my LOR... and i haven't received anything from them by mail conf. wise. Is this standard and I just need to wait another week or so?

--Also, is it possible to get an interview w/out DAT scores? And for the people who are applying to 10 schools or so, if you get interviews at all the schools... do you end up declining some? Do you go to all of them? I just know that it could cost a fortune in plane tickets... so i'm wondering what people do. Or maybe getting 5+ interview invites is unheard of? 🙂

I guess you can figure out how they trully viewed you as person, worthy of getting a letter of rec. Obviously its not on there to do list anytime soon if its been over a month, and you have reminded them twice. You hope they write you a good letter.

I originally applied to 12, but after doing well on the DAT, I'm only going to interview at 5. The rest I will just reject. I figure I'll end up spending close to $2000 to visit 5 schools, and that is a ton of dough. That would bring my total application expenses to around $4,000. Anymore money is too rich for my blood!

Try to call AADSAS, I was lucky enough to get through for the first time
and get confirmed that your will be sent out.

Why don't you ask them if you could write the letter yourself? They can read what you wrote, make changes if needed, and sign it. That's what I did. Many people are lazy or just don't know how to write such letters.

I received confirmation from NOVA that they got my test scores (i'm assuming its the ones i faxed in). Just sent in my secondary 2 days ago (had to wait until payday for the $50 fee 🙁 ) anyway they should have that like tues or wed of next week i'm thinking.

I think they can most definetly give you an interview with one LOR missing. Keep in mind that they will interview with an incomplete file because they have until December 1st to start handing out acceptances.

The total cost of attendance is 52,891 in state, and 54,786 out of state. Yes, Nova is private, but there is still a discount for in-state students.(Don't ask me why) Those numbers include tuition + fees, Room and board, books and supplies, transportation, and miscellaneous expenses.
