Any news on the UNC front? I just submitted my ECU secondary. 😀 Let me know how Ophelia is treating you. I'm currently in the Sunshine state.

How did it go? I hope it went well.

Be prepared to wait. 😳 Some people last year went from November until the end of April before hearing. :luck:

They can't do that to EDP applicants though, because if they don't want us then they have to let us know so that we can apply elsewhere. I should find out around October 1.
 
For those of you that applied to ECU, how quickily did you receive your secondary app after you were verified? My app was verified and I got the email from ECU about three hours later. I just wanted to know if every in state student received a secondary or if they just really liked the app. Thanks for the insight.

Maybe a little off the topic..but does anyone know how long does it take for med schools, more specifically for ECU to make the final decision after the interview?

In-state by email. Its a link to a site with downloads in pdf and word format. You have to print stuff out and fill it in and mail it. THe only actual writing is (notice its either, or. I called them about this.)------>

Hey, congrats on the secondary, but next time please be more specific! 😳 The waiting is gonna be pretty bad and if you post something like that in March, people will hate you. Just a warning.

So I got the UNC secondary today, and almost all of it works. The part where you're supposed to get the NC residency forms from doesn't, however. Does anyone who got the secondary have working links for the "short form"? Please PM me if you do.

I know, but I refrained from fixing it for now.

And the update wasn't a test as far as I know, it was to add that pithlit applied EDP.

Why is the posting on this thread so weak? UNC secondaries went out , has anyone beside user and wholegame gotten one? I am a little worried since I was verified June 15th? Does UNC review and invite in order or do they invite based on merit?

Still no secondary for me. 🙁 I was verified at the end of June.

I would say give it at least a few more weeks, Bob. I'm antsy about getting mine, but UNC is kind of infamous for being a bit slower than other schools.

I'm waiting on Aug. MCAT scores, so that might have a factor in my app as well.

Here's to more UNC secondaries today! :luck:

I apologize for being remiss in my posting duties. I got a secondary yesterday (9/21). I'm in-state. AMCAS was verified on 7/29...so I'm assuming it's not by order received. Submitting it this morning.
 
UNC is a great medical school that acts in a wise and timely manner. They are likely reviewing each applicant careful and throughly as to not pass up on any hidden gems. Good luck to those applying it is a tough school to get into but it is also worth it.

I feel as if I am the only in state applicant not taking the august mcat who hasnt gotten a secondary on here... 👎

BTW, maybe I got one from UNC early because I did their MED program this summer. Who really knows? Well, good luck everyone.

I mean from UNC. But I was under the impression that they send out secondaries in the order AMCAS was verified. I have a 3.5 and a 31 from WAKE. I think I would get a secondary at least ....

Dude, don't sweat. I'm sure you'll get one. 🙂

I talked to Lisa on Monday. She said they would try to send out secondaries in the order that AMCAS was received. Then I got mine on Tuesday around noon.

You just said what I am worried about. I was verified 6-15 while you and most people who got one are late june , early july. Are they receptive to phone calls at UNC?

I haven't gotten my secondary either. I'm completed on 7/29 though. I don't good stats but I got an interview last cycle so I'm hoping for at least a secondary this time. I'd say give them 2 more weeks to allow for processing time before you call.

Yes I am worried b/c it seems UNC interviews 70 % of in state! I want one, if I do not get one then I must assume they didnt look at me as a real resident.
 
"UNC interviews 70 % of in state" Where did you get that stat from? Last year, they only interviewed 40% of in-state resident I believe. Why wouldn't you be a real resident? If anything, they might not consider me a real resident either because I haven't lived in NC for 5 years.

I dont have the MSAR at work with me but it is like 450 out of 750 (60 %) Noy 70 % but still alot.

So, the total count on this thread is 1 secondary to EDP and 3 secondaries to regular applicants. For those of you reapplying...did things start out this slowly last cycle when UNC released secondaries or did a buttload go out on the same day? I was verified June 27th and have not heard anything, but I think it's still too early to get worried. I think with so few people posting here, UNC probably hasn't released that many yet....at least I hope not. Hang in there, Bob. With your numbers I can't believe you wouldn't hear from UNC.
 
You're right BOBODR. I just checked US News and they interviewed 490 out 770 applicants. 😳 I hope we will all hear some good news soon.
