13 days... but the link is available online if you want to get a head start on it. Its in this thread somewhere.
For CCOM:
Why are you seeking a career in osteopathic medicine, and why do you believe CCOM would provide you with the type of osteopathic medical education you are seeking?
Are you writing about your "path to osteopathic medicine" like shadowing etc...I ended up talking about: 1. Why CCOM and 2. Why I think Osteopathic medicine is a good fit for me...
Also im at 504 words 🙁
Congrats to all who got an interview invite to Western University! I just got one as well!!!!😀 I scheduled my interview for 9/6, so I guess I'll see you there, walkoffhr, and possibly more. Best of luck to you all!![]()
You most certainly will...I received the email confirmation....9/6 at 9:15 AM. I'm kinda getting that feeling...whoa, this is really happening 😱
Grats to you COMP people!!
Who else has not received UMDNJ?
Thanks! I still haven't received UMDNJ either (eventhough I already submitted it😱). I hope we get it soon.![]()
I have only gotten one email from LECOM... Has anyone gotten a seperate one from Bradenton, or should I just fill out both?
Hey all,
I've noticed that Touro won't send a secondary app request unless they have your MCAT score. Has anyone taken last year's Aug MCAT (as their first MCAT) and gotten an interview? I'm sure if you have high stats even with such late review of your app you'll get interviews. I'm just wondering what the stats for people who got interviews with a late MCAT like Aug was. If you don't feel comfortable sharing your stat on a public forum, can you PM me?
Thanks!
I just got one and filled out both at the same time.... I doubt you would get two separate emails even though it makes sense since you pay a separate fee, pay for an extra designation, and go to a separate interview!![]()
well everybody would apply if the process was easy and made sense!
Fatigue is definitely setting in when it comes to secondaries. Anybody else?
Received LMU-DCOM secondary today. Anyone else received one?
This year is different from last year in that last August's MCAT was still paper and pencil, not CBT. The scores from last August's MCAT were released in late October. If you take the MCAT this August your scores will be in early September.
I'm taking the August MCAT too and I've spoken with all the TOURO's about this. They all said to fax or email my scores (don't wait for AACOMAS) and they would send me a secondary if my score is better than a 23 (thats their cut-off for MCAT).
So, lets say they get your score around September 11th, send you a secondary the next week and you turn it in right away by . . . you should be complete around late September/early October. That's not TOO late, IMHO 😀
Good Luck![]()
I am wondering though, since the MCAT scores are released electronically, how do we FAX it?
When your MCAT score is available, you can print out a "score report" that has your scores, name, aamc id number, etc. Just fax that sheet in to them.
Or there is an official sheet you can send them with the score number. I emailed that to a school. When your MCAT score is available, you can print out a "score report" that has your scores, name, aamc id number, etc. Just fax that sheet in to them.
Complete at CCOM today. So far, that's CCOM and DMU-COM. DMU said I should have a decision by 8/11.
I know MD programs who do that, I'm not sure about DO schools. Technically as you mentioned all NYCOM appilicants receive an interview pre-secondary. The school only sends out a secondary to people they interview. You bring it with you to the interview. For all those of you who have received pre-secondary interviews, when was your AACOMAS submitted and/or verified? I received a pre-secondary interview from Western U yesterday (I'm going on 9/6!) and I was only verified last week. I was just wondering if the other schools that do interview pre-secondary have already sent out their invites, or if I still have a shot at getting an early interview for some of them.... (ex. NYCOM).
Thanks! 😛
So... Who here is on top of their secondaries, but are still waiting for those LORs to be considered complete?
Me! I have one LOR left, and the prof told me in may she could have it for me 'in a couple of weeks'. I emailed her two or three times and she never replied...called her last friday, and her sec. said she was busy and would call me monday...called her yesterday, and now she's on vacation for a week. The whole LOR process has been the worst part of med school prep...even worse than the mcat.

I definitely feel your frustrations on this one and I fully agree with your conclusion! Although no professor has cold shouldered me like your situation it has definitely occurred by a physician or two. Getting a physician letter has been like mission: impossible for myself. It has been absolutely the most frustrating aspect of this process because I have the least control over it. I think my worries are over now but until my pre-health committee has it in their hands you never know!
Well, she is an MD/PHD, so maybe that's why. Anyway, she was so nice, and even offered to find me a job and everything for next year. Now she's being weird like this.......I just can't wait til it's in, and get that committee letter and be complete at a couple of these places.
As of this morning I am complete at CCOM. Has anyone heard about any turnarounds for decisions? They mention that they are on a roling admissions, so I assume they are pretty fast, wheter invite or rejection.
