i got the UMDNJ secondary invite today in the email...yyyyeay!
this i smy 6th out of 14 schools😀

and for all of you who have been worried about waivier form at LECOM...
apparently we all didn't read it carefully but if you are using interfolio you don't need to worry about it.
the waivier document says:
"By completing the online supplemental application and by checking and dating the Student Waiver
of Access to Letters of Recommendation section, you have agreed to release the persons named as
references to provide the required information. Please use this form to notify your references of your
permission to release your information"

and further: "Please provide the signed Student
Waiver of Access to Letters of Recommendation form to the physician along with a copy of these instructions when you request the letter(....)(and to the recomender) Please mail the letter of evaluation to the respective campus for the applicant"

it doesn't say letter with all the forms😀

the intructions are pretty straight forward...obviously waivier form is just for the recomenders to feel secure that they can be fully honest in their recomendation writing...and since we are using interfolio we have already signed that kind of form when we gave our recomenders the intruction page from interfolio.com.

I have 8 of 14 (two m.d.) as well! I feel like I am behind on returning them... I have only sent back three.

Not sure if this has been discussed yet, but I have a question about LECOM's secondary.
Explain or describe any clinical and/or health related experiences you have had, including extracurricular school and community activities.

Do you guys think that LECOM is prompting us to talk about our clinical experiences plus all extraurricular and community activities such as the debate team or varsity sports. Or do you think that this statement is asking us to discuss only extracurricular and community activities pertaining to only health care such as volunteering in the ER or being part of a premed club.

I haven't started on my secondary because yet but will after taking MCAT (July 24) and already have a stack waiting!😱

A couple of questions regarding UNECOM's supplemental.

What if you never had any contact with anyone affiliated with UNECOM, what would you write for the required question?

What do you put in the spaces for:
Waiver of access?
Did everyone just type initials and write dates in or is this something we do later, meaning do they send us this application and we initial it? Ok the last one is a little silly, but I am a little confused.

Most of the DO schools that I applied to have sent me an email saying that my application is on hold until my MCAT scores come in 🙁 Hopefully, they'll send me the secondary the minute my scores come in!

I am very happy i am doing this stuff so fast but then i am always scared that they just want my money and will reject me after my secondaries😉
But for real...if i had a regular day job it would not be possible to get those secondaries out in such a short time...and if not for few good friends who helped me editing my gramar and spelling in those essays LOL.

hey DVN,
i think they send them in the order they receive your file...i was really early with my AACOMAS...i believe it was their first mailing batch (6/18) and i got all my 9 secondaries these last few days.
I am sure you will get it....just relax and enjoy the weened and then when you get them turn them in asap


p.s i am working on SOMA and i have UMDNJ all ready except for printed out essays and $90 fee. And AZCOM is fairly easy...same format as CCOM but a little different essay question so i will have to rewrite the essay for it.

If you do not know the exact date for the extracurriculars, service, etc., what did you do.

I gave an approximate date with the ~ symbol. Do you think this is acceptable?

As long as your dates are consistent with the rest of your application it will be fine. They will only look into it if they are suspicious. I think it would look better if you did not use ~ (approx symbol). It may make it seem like you didn't cover all your grounds. Just my opinion though. But if you already did I'm sure you will be fine.

I agree with Ilikescience, leave the ~ out. As long as you put down an approximate date and it doesn’t conflict with another EC, you'll be fine.

The letter said that if I have any additional information regarding my application (AKA my MCAT score) I should send it to them and I might be reconsidered. I'm taking the MCAT August 9th so I guess they're rejecting me based on my 1st MCAT score (which is pretty horrible), but this is still not fair 😎

To make things even more confusing, I also received a letter from TOURO-CA today saying that they would like to offer me a secondary application, but are waiting for my MCAT score to come in?

This is all so humbling 😳

Don't worry about the UMDNJ secondary yet. I haven't received mine either, so I called the office on Friday and spoke with Laura (who was very nice), and she informed me that she still has 2 piles of AACOMAS applications to get through. She said she should be done with them by the end of next week.

On the MSUCOM secondary Application Checklist, number 8 is All MCAT scores listed on your AACOMAS application...

How do we send the scores to MSUCOM. I went to the THX reporting system and MSUCOM is not one of the schools you can send it to.

I got one more....TOURO-COM NY....so touro-com does screen secondaries??? I thought all DO schools besides WV-COM and NYCOM...didn't screen.... oooh I have to get these done... I think this is 7/12 DO secondaries that I have to work on...ummm will I get a separate invite from both LECOM and LECOM- Brandenton??? I go separate ones from P-COM and P-COM georgia!!!

my apps are all done and verified AMCAS and AACOMAS... I took the MCAT in April...I am not taking it again...however I never took physics II... I am taking it now... how do I get my summer score to the schools?? do I send it to all of them individually?... or do I send it to AMCAS/AACOMAS?.... or do I wait until they ask me for it?... all of the schools say...you can apply without taking all the requirements...but you can't matriculate before completing it...I have everything else completed... and I was a Bio/nursing/ dance... major...so I have more than enough upper level sciences to account for my lack of physics...

sorry for the ramble...any help would be appreciated!

email aacomas with question...that is what i did with mcat update...they respond within few hrs and they will direct you exactly to what you need to do.
my guess is that you will need to send in your official transcript and that aacomas will take few days to update your file and calculate new gpa and then they will mail the update to all your designated schools in their next weekly mailing (which as far as i know happens anyday between wed-fri).

Do they only accept in-state, or is this number misleading because in-state residency is so easy to get?

I doubt everyone who completes their file will receive an interview, but that is indeed what the secondary says. They probably mean to imply that you won't be invited to interview before your file is completed.

Almost all students get in-state status because its VERY easy to do.
