I was complete 8/24, OOS, MCAT 30O, 3.5 GPA, Nontrad with publications, volunteering, work in the ED, and other typical ECs.
 
dear temple,
please send out decisions. not that i am impatient or anything, but you did say we would hear on the 15th. starting to get a little bit rediculous. just saying...

my status changed to 'correspondence mailed to your address' today. My status changed to that right before I got an acceptance from drexel but it seems people have gotten an acceptance from the temple status page.....does that mean im being mailed a waitlist???

i got the same status change.. haven't gotten the official letter yet in the mail, but unfortunately, from reading previous threads i think it's a rejection. pretty bummed 🙁
 
Ugh. Still have the status under review page..... it's been like 3 months. I don't mind getting rejected anymore, but come on people.

It's interesting to propose that they would change a student's status immediately before rejecting him. Why do anything at all in that case?

I figured if anything, it would be to build up suspense for the impending acceptance, or wait list at least.

However, I don't disagree with js99's take.
 
i interviewed way back on september 18th. first week of interviews. i feel like lots of people come off the waitlist at temple tho, so we'll see.

themachine--did you get the snailmail from temple? was it a waitlist?
 
does anyone know the admission procedure for temple. i have been complete for a while but no interview invite. was just wondering if there was any point in hoping?
 
Does Temple respond to "In the area" emails?
 
I emailed the admissions office on Friday to check on the status of my application. A few hours later, I was able to schedule an interview online and I just received the email invitation this morning!
 
What is going on Temple with these decisions?? My patience is running thin!

didn't for me. i had been complete a month, told them i would be in the philly/dc area in late sept and was coming from oregon. they never responded and finally emailed me today, two months later, with an interview offer. figures.

Has anyone heard back from temple post-interview? My status changed to "Correspondence mailed" last week, but I haven't received the snailmail yet.
 
im in the same boat as you, jorge, as far as status goes. Except I think people had their status change to 'accepted' a little while back and im not sure if we can expect anything too fantastic in the mail.
 
so people in September have heard about decisions or have had status changes. Has anyone that interviewed in october heard anything yet? if so, what day did you interview?
 
interviewed early oct, no status change so far.
 
Has anyone seen the acceptance statistics for Temple last year? The women at my interview said that Temple accepts around 80% of people interviewed.
 
I haven't seen any statistics but someone in the admissions office when I interviewed said they accept about 50% of those interviewed. so who knows
 
According to my MSAR, in 2007, Temple interviewed 218 out of 1090 IS applicants, out of whom 77 matriculated. Likewise, they interviewed 599 out of 8545 OOS with 101 matriculants. There were 6 deferrals.

Overall, 178 seats and 817 interviewed. Accepting 400 to cover 178 sounds reasonable considering Temple's standing amongst medical schools. Accepting 640 (80%) to cover 178 seats means there's going to be a lot of cycling on that wait list.
 
I interviewed at the end of September (I'm in-state) and I still haven't heard anything. Just want to let you guys know that I called and they told me that they only meet once a week. Apparently they also missed a few weeks so they are running behind. She put a note on my file that I called and told me that when a decision is made, I'd get something in the mail.
 
Was anyone else fowarded a e-mail by Temple regarding their Podiatric Medicine program? I like your school, but I have worked 4+ years to be able to apply to an MD Program. Does this school somehow think I will change my life's ambition after recieving a fowarded e-mail regarding their Podiatry Program?!

I am reading this as a foreshadowed rejection. I mean c'mon....If someone applies to be a professor at the medical school do they get fowarded e-mails regarding a position in the mail room?

I've gotten a couple of spam e-mails, but nothing about podiatry at temple. They do seem to come at the most inopportune times in the application cycle, don't they?

:laugh: This is so funny! Just yesterday, I was wondering when the first round of "I got a podiatry school email" worries would start.

Don't worry about it. These are, like someone said, the equivalent of spam from schools. They go out every year and aren't at all related to whether or not you will be accepted.

If the email came from her or one of her friends accounts then yes I probably would. Since this email is from a part of Temple, I think that was the way it looked to us nervous applicants. Thanks for the reassurance, hopefully I will eventually get out of "under review."

Actually, from reading the previous threads, the "correspendence" status appears to be a rejection OR waitlist.
 
Anyone's status change from last Friday's committee meeting, or you think they will wait til Monday to put them all through? I interviewed on the 23rd, so I'm not sure if they got to me or not yet. Hopefully, otherwise it'll be at least two more weeks (they said they don't meet the 14th - white coat ceremony).
 
I interviewed 10/22. I'm hoping we don't have to wait a month
 
my status changed to correspondence mailed not this passed wednesday/thursday but the wednesday/thursday before that and still nothing has arrived. Do you think I should call admin to see whats up? seems like a ridiculously long time for something to be in the mail.

You (or anyone else) could ask, saying you're concerned it got lost in the mail, etc. It is a genuine subject for concern, which I would call about if I was seeing this status page (interviewed early oct, still "interview complete").

I'm in the same situation as you. It seems they have not sent out the letters yet.

Just called them... she said "mail went out today and we should hear back in 1-2 days."

I've been checking my mailbox *every day* for the past two weeks since getting the "correspondence mailed" status page... trying to be patient but seems that everything with Temple has been waiting, waiting waiting.
 
so do we think that the mail that went out today only includes the people whose status had changed awhile back or does it include some new decisions that they made last week? my status hasnt changed but im coming up on a month since the interview and im hoping to get my decision soon

I would guess the letters went out only for those who had status changes.
 
I interviewed October 7th and still have the same status of Interview Complete so I just called. As nice as she was she wasn't very helpful and said that only the admissions committee knows anything about the status changes and that formal letters will be sent out when a decision is made. What sucks for me is that my parents just moved and won't be receiving their mail for two weeks! The waiting continues..
 
Is it a bad thing that I submitted my secondary to them in early/mid-September and "verified" is the only status that I'd got on their website? Is this to be expected because it was submitted a little later in the application cycle?
 
I submitted around the same time (mid-late Sept) and my status reads: Under Review." Yours says "Verified"? I wonder what that means exactly. I would give them a call

i interviewed on the 7th too and definitely still not word.🙁 so much for 2-3 weeks. I would have been fine if they told me 6-8 and it had been 6-8 like everyone else seems to be, but i'm just losing it?

is there any real consensus on what this "correspondence mailed" status change means. I don't know if i've seen anyone confirm in this thread at least that it actually is a waitlist/rejection.
