Can I ask what date/s they offered you for the interview? Or if anyone has received an invite recently, when is your interview scheduled? I'm curious how far ahead their scheduling...

Though my interview had to fit into the PRIME interview schedule as well, so that forced me to kick back the interview until that date. I don't know about people who haven't been invited to PRIME.

I mailed my secondary in early september, not really sure when I was complete but I'd assume end of september. My interview is for November 20th, so looks like they're giving them ~3 weeks in advance.

My primary was complete 8/27 and I have not received a secondary or rejection letter yet. I broke down and called yesterday and was told to wait another 2-3 weeks. Soo.... you may have a while to wait yet.

i called and got the "wait another two weeks" but they said they received all my stuff and don't know why i haven't been marked complete yet ... btw the person who answered was nice

jwal, i'm in the same boat as you, and also OOS =/ no fun...
my app was received 9/23 though, so you've been waiting even longer than me. hopefully we'll hear something soon!
i can't decide if the long wait means that they're trying to decide whether or not to offer me a secondary, in which case i guess it's a good thing, or if they haven't even looked at it yet....

Hi all. Below is what my UCSF application status page looks like right now. I am a little confused by how they "indicate that your secondary application is complete", since none of the items under "Applicant Status" actually say "complete".

Was my secondary application complete on 9/4/2008, since that is the date that goes with the "Secondary Submitted" status? Or do they literally mean that they have "received my portion of the secondary" ONLY, and so the entire secondary is still not complete because they are waiting on something? (Btw, my LORs should *definitely* be there by now).

Unfortunately, you are not complete yet. You should have one more line that says:

Secondary Application Complete-- date/2008

It's been more than 8 weeks, I would recommend calling them.

I'm pretty sure they see your file after the interview but before they do the report.

so i just called ucsf, i've been marked complete post secondary since 8/7... so i thought my rejection letter should be here by now or lost in the mail, but they say that they're behind so maybe wait another 2 - 3 weeks. incase people are in the same situation as me, not holding on much thou

They submit the interview report before they see your profile, so that you numbers and other extra info don't affect their impressions of you from the interview. That's the reason behind the whole "Don't contact interviewers or die" thing, too. They only see your profile when they come back for the final committee meeting on you.

So my first rejection came in the mail yesterday from UCSF. It doesnt reallly bother me much at all...especially since my friend from Cal has a housemate who has a 4.0 in bioengineering at Cal and a 41 MCAT, did multiple years of research at UCSF, and got rejected as well (pre interveiw).

For example, I mentioned that I was really involved in an organization, but I never mentioned that I was the organization's president, the number of people in the organization, how many years I was involved, etc. It just seemed tacky to suddenly start listing positions and stuff. Also, I didn't get a chance to describe a number of other important aspects of my involvement in this and other organizations. I guess I blew it. *sigh*

No worries. If you listed those details in your application, other committee members will take notice and may give you a high score if they find your experience interesting and significant.

I'm OOS with strong ties to CA (born and raised). They received my primary on 8/25 and I just NOW got a secondary on 11/15. Better late than never haha.

Hi,

I was just invited to interview at UCSF a few days ago for the non-PRIME program. According to the calender they gave of potential interview dates, I believe that the earliest day you can sign up for is Dec 2nd. There were many unfilled dates, which means that UCSF has a lot more interviews to send out =)

I wasn't on SDN then, but I used the interview feedback to help me with a few of the schools I applied to. I wasn't a big fan of Baltimore.

Let's hope we get the same response from UCSF, Harvard, and Yale...a resounding YES!
