interview! so excited! I submitted the secondary mid-July. good luck to everyone!
 
OMG - first interview invite! I'm in Barnes & Noble doing work, and definitely just busted out with a silent scream and a lil' dance! Hahaha...God is good 🙂 I'm so pumped!
 
Does anyone know what days Tulane interviews and how hard it is to reschedule??

I was assigned a Friday, so I'm guessing it's a weekly deal. As for rescheduling, you have to contact their office, and they say they "cannot guarantee" you another date. Honestly though, this early on? I can't imagine they wouldn't find another slot.

They interview on Mondays and Fridays. You have to pretty much have days lined up for when you would like to schedule. I'm not sure why, but you can't just ask "When is your next available Monday?" or something like that, because I guess Tulane's system doesn't work like that... 🙄 👎
 
I am considering whether or not to apply to Tulane...

I've responded to your PM, but as you see, reasons are personal and you need to determine on your own what motivates you to apply to different schools. 🙂

No status page. Earlier this cycle people called and were told a status site would be up but that never happened. They also don't seem to give status checks on the phone, so you just have to make sure you've turned everything needed in on your end.

you have to email [email protected] and request your status.

haha i called to check my status and instead of talking to someone they had a recording up. it does take them like a day or two to get back to you....really wish they had a status site.
 
Interview! I called them cause I hadn't heard anything, lady on the phone told me i had an interview and was supposed to get an e-mail.

interview last week. pretty excited about tulane, but interview is late oct because its so far from me geographically and i needed a free weekend to get down there
 
I just called, they said they were getting ready to send out status e-mails.
 
What number are you guys calling? I just get a "Status check is not available" message.

If you stay on the line, it rings through to admissions. I would highly recommend not asking your status on the phone though, I called to make sure they hadn't put my application on hold due to anticipation of MCAT scores, and she got really cranky about it.
 
Does Tulane waive the secondary app fee? How so?

I feel your pain, I was just deferred as well after being told that I qualify for acceptance and to "definitely apply early decision." I guess we were fools for listening to admissions advice.
 
The Tulane office's aloofness and inaccessibility is really turning me off from this school. I've sent an email to them a week ago checking if my application was complete or not and have heard nothing from them. Calling the number takes me to a recorded message and if I try to bypass that, I just get an angry sounding person who doesn't even ask for my AAMC number. 👎

Just got a complete email. Took em a while. Submitted on 7/15. Complete on 9/3. Maybe this means things will move faster here now!
 
Yeah.. still no complete email for me neither and I submitted in July.

Hahaha ya me too, same exact submission date and complete date.
I guess I can't complain too badly since there are people from other schools that are still waiting on non-screened secondaries, but I mean come on Tulane! Show me some love!!!
I would die to be in NOLA for the next four years!
 
Finally... complete email from Tulane, submitted 7/17. Thought it was an interview invite for a second. I guess most of the people so far who got interview invites were complete around 7/13.

same here! quite odd. My primary was submitted 6/11 secondary received 7/13 and submitted 7/23. I thought I was complete back in July but I guess not!😕
 
i actually just got a complete email too... when i thought i already had been since the end of july...
 
Early Decision applicant. Got the complete email as well. Looks like that's all they sent out today?
 
I got a complete email today, it was a reply to my email sent a couple weeks ago.

Does that mean they have not reviewed our file beforehand and will start now or they have, but they have just been busy lately to let us know if we complete or not?
 
Does anyone know how Tulane's match list compares to other schools? I looked over it and it seemed to be decent. But I am really interested in pediatric oncology and would like to do my residency at Penn, would I have a shot as a top Tulane med student to go there?

Oncology is a pediatrics specialty, so wouldn't it depend on where you did you residency? Besides, in previous match lists, people have ended-up at Penn. I'm not a medical student (yet), but it seems like you should be asking whether Tulane fosters a learning environment that will allow you to be academically successful.
 
I guess you're not complete until you get an official email. The waiting continues for me...

Yes you are correct. However, do find out if Tulane will prepare me "well" academically. I suppose you don't really find out until you take your Steps, just wondering if anyone here knowns about how rigorous their curriculum is. Also, you're WNT signalling picture is straight out of my cell bio book, did u go to uni of michigan?
 
Okay, I have a question... my AMCAS verified on 8/27, and I have yet to hear from Tulane. Is this bad? Granted, I still have one LOR to come in, but I figured once they got my MCAT score, I would get their secondary. How long did you have to wait? Do you know what the hold up is? Have I already been rejected (silently)??

Dude....it has been a week, relax, they send secondaries to all applicants, so you have not been rejected, i got my secondary 3-4 weeks after my AMCAS got verified, and that was in mid-june early Juily.

Oh gosh you are so right. I can't believe I am freaking out... it seems like its been way longer than a week.
