Hi,
For those of you who are going to the 2nd Look Day, can I ask what you are wearing? It won't do any harm if I wear a clean pair of jeans, right?
Thanks!
so your implying that for 300 spots, they give 300 acceptances or 350 I believe your wrong. Its more like probably 50% out of interview acceptance, and 75% acceptance overall

So then by May 5, they've only made around half of the offers they will make total? Sounds like quite a bit of waitlist movement.

Yay for the wait list movement! Hang in there everyone!
are you serious??
congratulations if you are but its not even close to the next decision date?
I'm referring to the posts above. Just excited that the numbers look good that's all. I'm not saying I got off the wait list....calm down...
lol...jesus christ man,
Okay maybe I've had too much coffee this morning but I am truly excited! I know 5/15 is a month away but my other wait list is moving next week so I'm stoked 👍

I don't think this is entirely accurate. By May 5th, they will have 300 offers out on the table but that doesn't include the offers which have already been rejected by accepted students. So I'm sure by May 5th, a total of 350-450 students have already been offered in total with 50-150 already declining. I just guestimated on those numbers, but certainly more than 300 total offers have been sent out by that date.

I went into the admissions office today to gather some information regarding what the future holds for us on the waitlist. With regards to the waitlist point system... from reading previous posts, people originally thought that your score is given (from 1 to 3) after the last decision date, but I was told today that you are actually given that score after your interview in the committee meeting which they hold every Monday. I inquired about sending a status update, and their answer made it seem, at least at this point, it is pretty much pointless to give them an update. Your score will not change at this point, nor will they look at the details of your application again. The only way they will look at your application is at the very end of the cycle. Here is how it was explained to me: Lets say if its orientation week and one of the enrolled students didn't show up, the committee will take the next highest score on the waitlist. If there are 4 students all with 2.65s they will then look at each applicant individually to assess who they will accept.
The adcom told me that by the end of the interview season they will have sent out roughly 300 invites, one for each seat in the class. Only after the last decision day will they start filling spots that have been withdrawn.

Haven't they already taken people off of the alternate list? Many of them posted here. How can they say they will only fill withdrawn spots after May 15th if people have already been taken off the alternate list?
Taking people off of the waitlist does not necessarily mean that those people are filling spots made vacant by people withdrawing.
You're assuming that each month they find enough people to hand out acceptances without having to go to the waitlist. Without evidence to suggest that, I posit the theory that the information they gave someone else could still be correct, even if they did take people off of the waitlist already.
In other words, the REAL movement off of the waitlist is yet to come.
If you don't mind me being nosey...where at?
That's okay, forum are for nosiness. Anyways it's at Meharry and since they start school at the end of June, their decision date is 4/15 instead of 5/15.
All we can do is wait now! Don't worry I have a good feeling that we'll hear some good news next month.
Oh and if I get off that list I'll probably go so I don't have to wait. So you guys should pray that I'll get off so I can take myself off the wait list at wayne lol.
To anyone still waiting, there's a good chance you might get my spot: I'm about 95% sure that I will decline my acceptance at WSU. I'm just waiting for my fin-aid package to make my final decision. I'll keep you guys posted.
YAY! congrats to you...I definitely think there should be more people just like you!
I think it's right. Wayne has 7 interviews and each decision date (7) they take 1/7 o their class......so no they are not accepting 500 people from the interview. Actually MOST school do accept ~30% out of the interview acceptance.
I emailed the adcom again. They do not overaccept. 300 spots total are given out by the end of the interview season. Only then do they start filling withdrawn seats, even ones that had been withdrawn a long time ago. Totally not trying to start any raucous btw just trying to gauge our chances. Back in 2008 they only interviewed 750 or so, so the acceptance rate was higher, closer to 77% I believe. I based my estimates on the number of total acceptances from that year, which I would imagine would be super variable from year to year.
Either way, good luck!! I hope you're right and not me 😱
Dear anyone who is withdrawing,
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
THANKS!

I only wish I hadn't paid the $50 bucks... I could go get dinner at The Cheesecake Factory or something.
If I was getting someones spot...I would take them out to the Cheesecake Factory twice.

I will one up that offer...ruth chris or any other steak house is my offer. seriously...can you sense how desperate i am?
I'll tell you what... Once we all get taken off this waitlist, we will all take each other out to a nice dinner during orientation. Deal?

we should have a waitlisters club at wayne, where those with direct acceptances will not be welcome
Deal. I just hope we all get taken off the waitlist!
I hope everyone gets off the waitlist as well! and this club sounds like a good idea...hahah man I hope we all get off this list. The wait is absolutely terrible...
THis might have been answered already -- but bear with me, I am too stressed out to go through the last few pages -- The list on May 5th, does it include the folks from the 7th interview day or is it post interview after all 7 rounds of admissions have been offered?
I believe May 5th is the final round of admission offering.
Hey, I withdrew my acceptance from Wayne State earlier this week. I'm OOS and international.
Good luck to everyone on the waitlist, and I hope one of you gets my spot. It's a great school!
Thank you![]()
May 15th can't come soon enough! Hopefully, we'll all get some good news close to that date.
I was wondering if people from the waitlist can get an acceptance before May 15th? Or is only after May 15th?
