It's been very quiet these past two days.
Question for Antarctica: did you withdraw from your offer, or your waitlist position?
Not that it matters for me since I'm IS, but nobody else asked the question, so I thought I would

The day has come, I got the call this morning! Class of 2014. I'll obviously be accepting. I should be getting the paper work in the mail in the next few days. IS, 32 MCAT, interviewed in February.

Thanks for the congrats and kind words guys. I can't wait for the year to start. Does any one know any information about the white coat ceremony? I'm pretty sure its on august 7th but do you know how many tickets we can get?

I keep hearing 2 if the follow tradition from the previous years which is a bummer. They have not released any more info on it yet.
 
I withdrew from my offer. Sorry for being unclear about that earlier.

Hello Everyone !

Long time reader , first time posting. I got my email yesterday to call and was offered my acceptance. Im an IS applicant. Good luck to everyone else and looking forward for next year .
 
Hey eveyone, I was just curious how are you guys finding roommates or places to live if you're coming out of the area?
 
Stay faithful guys. There is still a month and a half left. Several of you reading will get accepted in that time. One of you reading will probably get accepted during orientation week; it happens every year.

For those of you who genuinely want to become a physician, you will reapply. In the mean time, worry little about getting accepted. Do everything in your power to better your application. Find out who is on the ADCOM and see if you can shadow them. APPLY EARLY. If success is what you want, go after it, because it surely will never come to us. Success must be earned.

I'm a non-traditional applicant in every sense of the word. Before doing my post-bac, I graduated with a 3.0, and that was only after being on academic probation for doing so purely. I BOMBED my first MCAT. But, I knew what I wanted, and I went after it. Certainly, you all are just as, if not more, capable than I am. Best of luck to you guys. I know you all deserve it.
 
If any of you future students are interested, I'm looking to get a large group of us together to go to a Detroit Tigers game during orientation week. People have placed postings on the facebook group. There is also an email address, [email protected] which is supposedly someone who keeps a list of individuals who need a roommate. I emailed them last week and got no reply so I'm not sure how effective that will be. Check out the facebook page, there are a few people looking for roomates.

There is also an excel spreadsheet on the facebook page with apartment buildings that students are known to stay in and the prices.

It seems that your stats are really good! Are you going to do a post-bac then?

I really hope you and the messanger get in...and of course me too...I'm a little hopeful for the WL 🙄

Thanks. My stats may appear good but I had a really bad final year because of personal stuff. That is what makes adcoms lose confidence in my current academic abilities. So I have to at least do I year of full course load science work to convince them otherwise. So yes, I will be going back to school if not this year then the next and apply in the future cycles. I would really like to get in this year though and not have to worry about any of that.
 
I never thought I would do this, but I just withdrew my OOS acceptance. Hopefully this keeps someone from reapplying :xf::luck: best of luck!

Isn't this whole process crazy? I was all ready to move down to New Orleans and now I have to shift gears to Detriot!

Definitely a roller-coaster of emotions! So ironic too...just landed a job for what would have been the dreaded year off!

And yes definitely need to become a Wings fan!👍

I got in off of the waitlist today!! I got a voicemail from them yesterday, but because of work was not able to officially find out until this morning! I'm so excited - I was on 4 waitlists and this is my first acceptance!

Cdn waitlister here, just wanted to thank everyone who has posted. I've been following for a while.🙂

I called the office yesterday to see if I could pry some info and the girl wasn't that helpful, she kind of rushed me off the phone - it felt like she was in a hurry.

Is there any word on the type of movement that the list has experienced lately, or going forward? OR How many people have taken themselves off the waitlist/acceptance list?

Well it seems that movement has definitely slowed down a bit but is still going. From the posts, it appears the a few people get off every couple weeks or so....


BTW - someone posted earlier that the would buy me a drink if I got off the list...who are you person because now I want my drink :hardy:
 
Ilvcurst and woof88 have you received your packet yet? I'm still in awe and I don't think it will really set in til I receive the packet, so I'm pretty anxious to get it! I want to call Dawn back and make sure it wasn't a mistake and confirm that she sent me the packet :laugh:
 
Does anyone have any actual scoop of what's been said by the admissions office lately?

I.e. size of the list or movement

Haha I feel the same way! It's not official until I get it in the mail! I called Dawn on Friday to ask when it should come and she said that if it doesn't come by this Friday then I should call her again to let her know...so hopefully by the end of the week??
