Those of you who have been accepted: did it come to your preferred or permanent address?

If preferred --it could be waiting in my mailbox
If permanent -- I have another day before assuming waitlist/rejection

Accepted.

For those analyzing the speed of the USPS, I live in California, although in a major city.

accepted in los angeles! extra excited since this is probably where I will end up next year! good luck to everyone!

Has anyone living in Canada received a letter yet?

All the best to everyone!

I know there is a letter waiting for me at home from Columbia but since my mom cannot read english, I have to wait till I get there. I live in queens so I am assuming it is waitlist if not a rejection. I am going crazy

Rejections are coming through email, so you've got at least moderately good news.

This is cute-- best of luck, mate. But if she has a computer, tell her to use a keyboard and just copy the first few words in an email to you! You don't have to speak a language to type it out!

Nah no snail mail rejections. No waitlists on here except inside NYC yet, so I would say 90% acceptance (unless your preferred adress is in NYC). Congrats!

Did we ever get a confirmation that rejections were going to be emailed out?

but yea hoping for good news!!!!

lol, she tried to spell out the first two words: pnp rpjpi

When I wrote it, i thought it most likeely was we regret... but we will see and I am from NYC so yea

wow up to 125 viewers on thread. Live 20 minutes away right over bridge in NJ. didn't get anything. waitlist/rejection I suppose =(. I had a 12 minute interview so not too surprised.

All acceptances went out yesterday. Priority, so that they could go through the postal service, which can only take 1 day for many people but it billed as 2-3 days officially.

Waitlists are not all out yet, but will be sent by mail.

Rejections will be emailed.

Yep

Congrats to all the people who have been accepted already! Go out and celebrate, you earned it.

For those who have gotten waitlists, don't lose hope! I was a waitlisted candidate last year and I (along with many of my classmates) managed to get an acceptance eventually through hard work and dedication. Feel free to PM me if you want any advice on what to do and how to impress Dean Nicholas (he is singlehandedly in charge of the waitlist).

Wait what. Well Columbia's all about clubs-- maybe if accepted we can make an uncle phil/shredder club.

LOL! I'd join that club.

I know of one in Missouri, yes. Sorry 🙁

Just a note on predicting the USPS...you can't...don't try. Just because someone in your region of the country (or city for that matter) got their letter today and you didn't doesn't mean you're not going to get one, so don't freak out. People tried to predict this stuff last year and then someone from the NY region got their letter a couple of days after most other people in the same region.

I just want to go to sleep and wake up when my mail gets home...too bad i'm at work/SD

so I found out that the letter at home is a rejection not a waitlist so they are sending out rejections in snail mail it seems. Good luck to everyone

Hey all!

Just a quick update. Seems as though the rejection notices for interviewed prospectives will be mailed, not emailed. Additionally, the last of the wait-list letters will be sent out tomorrow.

Hope that's informative at least.

Question to all who have received acceptances, waitlists, and rejections through snail mail:

Did it come to anyone's permanent address rather than preferred address?

Dang that sucks 🙁

Thanks for the heads up, now I'm slightly glad that I didn't receive mail today and won't be afraid of my phone of the rest of the weekend lol.

Received a letter from the Bassett office today telling me that I'm on the alternate list... Still no word from P&S (I'm in the midwest). Does anyone know how many alternates the Bassett program takes? Seems like slim odds, given that last year they only accepted 14 applicants to fill 10 spots.

Sorry I haven't read through the rest of the forum. Has anyone from Massachussetts been accepted? Good luck everyone!

For real!
Earlier today, I got an email and my heart skipped a beat.

Turns out, it was just a receipt from amazon for purchasing Fleetwood Mac's "Gypsy" for $0.99.

I love that song...

No letter today, and my parents are going to be out of town friday through monday! I'm thinking about driving home on Saturday to check the mail, lol...it's only a 30 minute drive so it wouldn't be that crazy but I'd feel stupid to get home and find a rejection or no news at all...

I'm really confused as to what's going on: are rejections being snail mailed or e-mailed? What about waitlists?

Has anyone gotten a post-interview rejection through email?

Every decision post-interview is snail mail except for pre-interview rejections, which are emailed.

Acceptances, waitlists, and post-interview rejections are being mailed (and acceptances are by priority mail).

Pre-interview rejections are being emailed.

Thanks for the info. It seems like they picked possibly the worst combination of ways to notify us. Thanks, Columbia!

Ugh I went back to my apartment today in the middle of the day to see if it was there. As I was walking up I saw a big white envelope in the mailbox, so I ran up the stairs and freaked out when I saw the envelope said priority mail, but it was just a financial aid application packet from a school I'd already gotten into. Definitely the worst moment of my day.

nada in the mail today... im debating blaming my mail center. but now im leaving for south america for two weeks.

i wish i could call them and beg for an answer!

Me too! Not only have I not received anything from Columbia, I live in a group house where we get mail for all our roommates past and present and we haven't received any mail-- not one single item-- for two days now. We average 7-8 pieces of mail on a normal day.

Something is not right with this picture...

letters sent tuesday, no letter in Staten Island on thursday.... 🙁

nothing here! i'm kind of surprised... dr nicholas sent me a nice letter telling me how "optimistic" he was about my chances for acceptance after i sent my thank you note. i feel so let-down 🙁.

Sorry I haven't read through the rest of the forum. Has anyone from Massachussetts been accepted? Good luck everyone!

Letter arrived via priority mail to my preferred address outside Boston.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
