On secondary, it says to report institutions and their GPA. I went to community college for two years before transferring to University. So for the University GPA should I put the GPA with which I graduated (community + University) or the GPA from the classes just taken at the University?

I was same... I put the GPA for the community college and the GPA for the university (just the classes i took at the university not the overall found on AMCAS).
 
Do you think it would be bad to give them an e-mail asking if they received my AMCAS materials, since I still haven't gotten a secondary.

Yeah, I would take it easy with this school and not call them. They took about 2 weeks (more or less) to give me a secondary, and I was verified with AMCAS in early June.

When were you complete though?

Yea I got a secondary pretty late too. ITs an easy one so you can submit it as soon as you get it.
 
Thanks for the input. I'll wait another week or two I guess.

I was verified by AMCAS way back in June...this is the only school where I haven't gotten a secondary yet.
 
How strictly is everyone following the instructions for the activities entry? I know they still see my primary, but I have a few more meaningful experiences that are probably 6th or 7th chronologically that I'd much rather mention.

That frustrated me as well. I still listed by date... It killed me to do it though.
 
how long after you submit the secondary did it show that you were complete? Did Drexel send an email saying you were complete? I tried checking the website and ended up at the application portal that's not for MD applicants :\

plus obviously payment received, photo uploaded, and LOR received

Mine took three days for all three requirements to be marked as received. I did not receive an email, though, just noticed on the website.
 
I still have no Drexel secondary. AMCAS submitted 6/29 and processed 7/23. Why?? 😛
 
I'm in the same boat...my app was processed the 22nd of July...in fact, Drexel is the only secondary I have not recieved. I just emailed them - hopefully they'll get back to me soon.
 
to those of you who haven't gotten their secondary invitation email yet, are any of you reapplicants?
 
I'm not a reapplicant but i am two years out of undergrad. also, i wasn't complete until about two weeks ago
 
I'm just wondering because I am a reapplicant and I tried using my banner id and password from last year to sign onto the 2011 site and it worked. It also says that they have my amcas and letters and acts like i was already invited to complete the secondary.

im not sure if somethings wrong with their emailing system or what but something seems off

i dont think that has any bearing ... i am a reapp and i got the secondary the first/second day it came out. sorry!
have you checked your spam? thats where mine went last yr
 
As a reapp, my old banner id worked as well. And I remember signing in to check my status from last year, after it had changed over to 2011. So maybe since I signed in, it didnt send an email.

I am 3 years out, I was verified back in the beginning of july and I didn't receive a secondary until August 9. I wouldn't worry.
 
Does anyone know from any experience when they start handing out interviews?

Yeah, I'll try not to. 🙂 I wasn't verified until the 22nd of July anyway, and their website did say it could take up to a month after verification to recieve a secondary. I guess I'm just comparing Drexel's timeline with the other schools I've applied to, since they got back to me with secondaries fairly quickly.

Yup, I'm done all 30+ of my schools. Except this one, where I don't even have a secondary 🙁.
 
does drexel send a completed email?

also, how does drexel feel about sending extra info?

Reminds me of when a class I had with a messageboard where we could post/answer questions about course material and the professor called me a superhero for being quick to respond.

It certainly helps that we applied to a lot of common schools!

there was a report that came out a week ago saying that for our generation, email is too slow of a means of communication... i found that kind of funny.

Just wanted to let you know that I called the Admissions Office this morning to check my application status and the staff informed me that they have not even started looking at applications to give interviews.

Hey everyone! Good to see so many people interested in Drexel! Good luck to everyone!

Just a quick question though. I was exploring the website and noticed that Drexel doesn't offer any housing. This causes a problem for me. I don't have any money to rent an apartment, and I don't think working while in medical school is an option. What are you guys planning to do?
 
I believe living expenses, including money for housing, are included in the cost of attendance when they are preparing your financial aide package, so it should be included in your loans.

I was verified in July and still haven't received a secondary. Anyone else? How long should I wait before calling the school?

For people that are complaining about not getting a secondary, try going to that link Asyouwereatrio posted (in the quote). Then click on create an account. There will be a space for your e-mail address; type it in and submit it. If they've received your primary app from AMCAS, they should send you an e-mail containing a banner ID and PIN.

Now...take those ID and PIN numbers and enter them here: http://webcampus.drexelmed.edu/admissions/MyApplication/

That should get you in. It took about a half-hour of poking around for me to figure this out. I figured if they weren't going to send me an e-mail in a timely manner, I'd try to access it on my own.

If this doesn't work, Drexel either hasn't received your primary yet (for some weird reason), or they hate you.

You are awesome! I just did this and it worked. They even already have my LORs!

I have two questions...

1. This one is rather silly..but under activities, what did you all do for activities that you're still currently in? If it has a deadline, like when I graduate, did you put that date in? or just leave it blank? Because I also some of those ECs without a deadline, and I swear I searched the entire application for instructions..maybe I just can't read.

2. I attended a Summer Program at a University when I was in High School. So I received college credit, and etc. Should I include that under schools attended, include "Extension School" and leave the degree, major, etc, blank? (I had issues with this in my primary also). But then what do I say for program? because it's not Junior College...and isn't quite Undergraduate, although I took an Undergraduate class, so in my opinion it's closest to that. ack!
