Where are you guys putting shadowing? Under other extracurriculars?
BTW im an S
That box is for jobs you held during breaks during undergrad. Aka working at Walmart during Xmas and Summer breaksHey guys I have taken a year off from school since graduating. I'm filling out the Personal Information/Extracurricular activities section. For "Check if held only during breaks from school" what does this refer to? Does this refer to if you did some ECs during summers while in school or does Drexel want you to check the box if you've been doing new ECs since graduating from college. Thanks.
Oh Drexel, why must you shun me so?
Dont worry I haven't received anything from Drexel either. Annoying.
Whoever knows you better. it'll make for a stronger letterHi everyone,
What are you guys submitting for the non-science letter? I'm contemplating between a Physician I shadowed or the program I worked with for volunteering.
Thanks in advance!
Agreed. Every time I get an email (even in my spam box) I get hopeful but then I get disappointed by ads for how to satisfy my partner
Hello friends,
I'm a resident of Massachusetts (MA), and I'm interested in applying to these 3 schools in PA because:
1. My sister lives in PA.
2. Drexel and Temple are relatively easier to get into, and I anticipate a 28 on my MCAT. My undergrad was 3.2 and graduate in BME was 3.45.
Are these compelling enough reasons to want to apply to these schools?
Would explaining it to the interviewers that I'm applying to their school simply because my MCATs and GPA is within their statistical range an acceptable reason?
Also, how difficult is it for non-PA residents to get accepted to these schools IF MY INTENTION IS TO STAY IN PA?
Can'tremember said:You will be asked why you want to go to that school. So, why DID you apply there? What kind of experiences are you looking for in a medical school? What is important to you?
Volunteer/student organizational opportunities... do you want to get involved with your med school class or do you tend to just want to do your work and go home?
Clinical exposure... When do you get it and what kind of exposure is it? What kind of patient population? Urban? Rural? Community or just in-patient?
Do you care about block classes or would you rather have semester long ones? Do you want a school with problem-based or case-based classes or just lecture? Are you interested in computer-based learning?
Facilities...computers, libraries, student lounge/area, labs, lecture halls... are they nice? Do you care?
Think about what you want out of a medical school and be able to address your issues. It helps to do a bit of research in advance about the school. So not only will you be able to tell the interview WHY you applied, but how the strengths of that school link into your own strengths and interests. You can also use the knowledge you already have about the school to ask specific questions of the interviewer. You can find out more about a school by checking out their web site or through books like Princeton Review's Best Medical Schools book.
I'm not sure you'll even get in with those stats.Hello friends,

Did anyone get a complete email?
I finished supplemental, paid, and the letters of rec are in but when I check on my status, none of the three are marked as completed.
Anyone else experiencing the same problem?
I don't know, they haven't even sent me a secondary yet.
I feel ya, man... WTF... 😕
Ditto...no secondary here either. In fact, no action for the past couple of days from any school...it's such a change of pace from the last month haha..
It's the eye of the storm... We have just gone through one side of the storm front and are now getting ready to get chewed up and spit out the other... Although, the storm is growing and it will take about 9 months for it to finish with us...

JUST got their 2ndary. I'm sure many of you will follow in the next hour.
I would be ECSTATIC if I even have one interview under my belt right now, and I believe you have several right now, right?
Sent in 18 2ndaries so far and no news yet... granted that only a handful were submitted "ASAP". My top choice sends out their first invites in a few days from now so I have my fingers crossed.
FML... I'm starting to feel really sick. 🙁

So anyone not get this secondary yet? 🙁
Under "application requirements" at the bottom of the page, it says to submit a 2x2 photo for ID purposes. Is there an online spot for this that I am missing, or do we somehow mail this in? anyone have an idea?
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]3. List extracurricular, other volunteer, or community service activities in chronological order. Start with most recent:
Can we list lab research in here? If not, is there anywhere else to put research?
.
Me third 🙁*still nothing here*
Got the secondary email this morning. WTF took them so long?
i submitted my amcas awhile ago and i only noticed now that one of the dates for my activities is wrong. im gonna send amcas an update to change it but should i hold off on submitting my secondary for Drexel until they do?
I don't want to have one date on my secondary and another date on my primary.
and just confirming that shadowing does not equal volunteer activity right?
