Think they will count us Jewish folks in for that weekend??? 😛

I don't think there are all that many of us in Atlanta 😀

emory actually has a pretty sizeable jewish population. also there's actually a pretty big jewish community in druid hills, i drive by the synagogue to work everyday and a lot of the congregation lives within walking distance haha

The undergrad population is actually Jewish by a majority. I'll admit, I've never read that statistic, but I went to college there and heard it numerous times.

I guess this thread is just a useless carcass this late in the season.

we come out around the days when acceptance mailings are sent out haha

def go on your interview...Emory is an AMAZING school

Haha, I see. I'm going for sure. If for no other reason than my interview being on the Friday before President's Day - a good long weekend to see family and friends. But I've read through the whole thread now, and I'm interested in seeing it.

I couldn't agree with this more. As a Non-Trad I have experienced a wide variety of companies, organizations, and universities and I found Emory to truly be a special place. The warmth exhibited by the faculty, staff, and students was genuine, everyone seemed to be proud and comfortable with where they were, and all showed tremendous respect to all of the applicants who were there that day.

I second this. The admissions staff at Emory is one of the nicest I've encountered. Students walked by all day to talk to the interviewees (probably more for the cookies and coffee) and were all incredibly enthusiastic about the school.

time for the :xf: and :luck: to commence!!

good luck everyone!!

If I remember correctly, they will meet on Monday and send letters out on Tuesday? Does anybody know approximately how many they accept at each meeting?

:luck:

+ 10000000

well said.

it seems like in the last few acceptance rounds, people have been receiving their letters on the Tuesday they were supposed to be mailed out.

i'd also like to know the answer to your second question. Are the majority of applicants selected in March?

did anyone who has already been accepted write a letter of intent?

i 😍 Emory!!

I got a background check request....anyone else get one or do you think it is just a coincidence

Wow, people are already getting their acceptances!

I just got an interview invite this morning. I'm stoked. I love Emory and Atlanta. Anyone else interviewing on Feb 25th? I am a current undergrad student at Emory and my gf is M3 at the med school so I know the system pretty well. I would happily answer any questions anyone may have.

If it was from Certiphi (the AAMC service) then it was just a coincidence - Emory is not one of the participating schools (https://www.aamc.org/students/applying/amcas/faqs/63230/faq_background.html). If it was from somewhere else then please share - I interviewed back in November and 😍 Emory. Still waiting to hear back but befinitely my top choice.

Ya I saw that, but then I checked in the actual AMCAS application under "Medical Schools" and it lists them as participating in CBC. I was waitlisted at U of Pitt back in December and put "on hold" (not a waitlist) at U of Kansas in November.

Well this bites. Now when I go home and check my mail, I'll get excited for a letter that may not ever have been sent.

Interesting - let me know how it works out. No background check request for me but I had the request back in January... Best of luck! Emory is a great place.

EDIT: Turns out I was being overly paranoid (too much coffee today...) Once you give consent for one school, they won't notify you about any others. So I shouldn't lose hope just yet 🙄. Good luck!

Has anyone received an interview invite lately? I am still waiting for one but I know that it is getting really close to the end of interview season. Should I just give up now?

(Already posted above, last post on the previous page of the thread) I got an invite on 1/25

God damn I really hope I get a letter tomorrow.

I feel you man. Unfortunately for me, my city is shut down due to a blizzard and I don't think I'll be getting mail today. Just more waiting I guess...

Just called admission office, the lady told me that they did send the accepting letter out yesterday. take a deep breath.

lol crixx this weather makes makes atlanta look more and more attractive!

Well I don't know... Atlanta did get that EPIC snowpocalypse with, what was it?, two inches of snow?

I know you're kidding, but in ATL's defense, we have a grand total of 2 salt trucks (give or take) for the entire city. I lived in Chicago for six years, and the roads are being salted within 5 minutes of the first signs of ice...

However, I will say the drivers here are pretty awful. Let's hope we don't have ice again for a while. :xf:

Yea I'll defend the city, too. In the decade I lived there, there were maybe 4 or 5 opportunities to use plows/salt. And this year was probably the first time that the repercussions of a winter storm lasted for more than a day or two since the legendary blizzard of '93

On a humorous note, I read that this year they had 8 salt trucks for the Snowpocalypse, and two of them crashed into each other.

I am going to write a letter of intent/interest to Emory pre-interview who do I send the letter to?

I know that it is late in the game but Emory is my top choice and I will try anything to increase my chances.

So no SDN people have gotten letters yet? I don't know how much more torture I can take Emory!

Well, I'm not sure you can complain unless your city looks like this 😉

But has anyone heard anything today?? I keep frantically checking my mail (the post man is running a bit late today)

Still no letter in the mail for me, with all this snow though I expect a lot of mail to get delayed.

Has anybody heard back yet? Given that they sent letters out Tuesday, I would imagine people would have heard back by now.

Unless they only want us to think that they've been mailed... 😱

So no one has heard anything??

not I, but I'm praying that the snow just delayed mail service this week

Anyone hear anything??

someone on MDapps was accepted on 2/2... Hopefully he/she lived a block away from the school or something and the rest of the letters are taking their sweet time!

received my letter today up in the northeast! interviewed in late october, so very unexpected to finally hear from them! good luck to those still waiting and don't lose hope if you don't get accepted the first time around!

I can't believe I'm typing this, but accepted!!!!!!!😀

I was waitlisted at all the other schools I interviewed at so this is a huuuuuuuuuuuge relief!!!

I live in the Midwest and received my letter yesterday
