I got the ominous "status check" email on my phone this morning at 6am, and was like "That's a rejection otherwise they would have said "Interview" in the subject line." But just that little glimmer of hope caused me to get up, start up the old rusty computer, and login. :annoyed:

"and here's another hit for barry bondssssssssssss"

Patrick Ewing just RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREJECTEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD me. This one sucks. I wrote a good secondary and it was in tuned for them! But hey this is part of the game.

Rejected as well. Complete early September.

Good luck to everyone else!

Anyone complete mid-late September here word today? I was complete on the 23rd or 24th (can't remember). Good luck to all of you still waiting and congrats to those with interviews! I'm really happy for you guys =)

Rejected. Complete early September, 32S, 3.88.

Moving on...

Rejected today, indeed in a very rude way. Complete 8/19.

I am also joining the rejected club... complete 9/10... oh well! their loss 😀😀

That's odd. Were your letters not in until recently? I submitted end of September and am complete now. I would call the admissions office and see if they can help you.

Just called, but it's end of business for East Coast (ack! I will have to wait for a return call tomorrow).

Thanks for getting back to me premed, I saw your previous post about being complete and am freaking out now. My letters were in back in July. I don't know what the hold up is. :scared:

Got an interview invitation this morning--good way to turn around the week after getting rejections from Pitt and Tulane. Went complete on August 19.

For those who got an interview, what do they mean by "The interview must take place during the indicated interview period." What is the indicated interview period??

I assume it means that you can only pick from the interview dates that show up at the RSVP link.

does anyone know what percentage of interviewees they actually accept? i heard about 20-30%.. that's pretty low =/

rejected earlier today too! submitted early aug, complete email late aug. best of luck to those interviewing and still waiting! 🙂

OOS, 36P, 3.8 BCPM, 3.5 overall (engineering undergrad = GPA killer)

Got an interview invite this morning. I was complete 8/18, 3.9/34.

I interviewed here back during the first week of sept. and I remember Mrs. Sullivan saying that if we didn't hear anything back from G-town we could call after the 20th. Does anyone else remember this also? Because today is technically after the 20th (not to be captain obvious).

Just got marked complete. Submitted my secondary on 9/2. I
suggest contacting the admissions office by phone if anyone has any questions rather than uploading documents to the secondary website.

I think I remember hearing this as well, are you sure it was October 20th though? (I am not sure if she said Oct or Nov). Also- has anyone heard back from G-town yet?

Looking at least year, it looks like the call-by date was October 20th (acceptances started going out on the 19th). It also looks like there were way more people asking about when they were going to be sent out prior to the 20th- we are an extremely patient group this year!

I also interviewed during the first weke of sept...I don't quite remember this, but that sounds fine to me haha. i figured since one of the above posters said "one or two weeks", i was going to wait until maybe mid week next week to call. maybe I'll call tomorrow instead...

Don't mean to be the bearer of bad news but I also interviewed the first week and I'm pretty sure she said if it gets passed nov 20 then u should call in.
It doesn't make sense they want you to call around the time they send out acceptances, rather only if u haven't heard back passed the normal time frame. I think you guys just remember what u want to remember lol

I interviewed early october and she said that we will hear around Christmas so it makes sense for the september people to hear in november.

^true i interviewed in sept and mrs. sullivan said mid november

Nah. I interviewed 9/8 and she said we should call by Nov. 1st if we haven't heard anything. They'll likely start sending out acceptances next week.

I'm really confused now haha, I interviewed early October and it seems like they told us we should know by mid November... guess it's just wait and see time.

Haha i think we are saying the same thing. you interviewed first week of sept so nov 1 for you

i interviewed mid sept so mid november for me

Hey party people,

to all of you who have gotten interview invites-- is there a status change on the website that accompanies this? And if so, what does it say, exactly? I got an invitation via email on Wed, but the status still says "complete" and we'll let you know in 6-8 weeks or whatever.

There's no status change from what I saw, but there's an option on the left hand column that says something along the lines of adding updates. Click on it and you'll get a page that says interview and you can upload a picture. But it doesn't actually say when you scheduled the interview or anything like that.

Waiting is so hard... I need to knoww

My interview is on nov 23rd - anyone else have the same date?

For those who interviewed, do you have any advice? What kind of questions did they ask? Hotel? Food? Attire? Whatever you want to share will be extremely helpful.

I interviewed here already, and I'd say my advice is try to relax and not worry about it. The interviewer asked me pretty standard questions (why medicine, why this school, etc), and our interview was very conversational. At least on my interview day, everyone interviewed with either a 4th year student or a faculty member. I stayed with a student so I can't really give any advice about a hotel. Oh and if you're flying in, fly to Reagan, it's a lot closer to the school than Dulles. Good luck!

Thx man - how did you get to stay with a student?

No prob. On the "Information for Applicants Invited for Interview" page there was a link for the student hosting info. Basically you just email them and they set you up with someone.

so many people knew their committee decision so much earlier on last year! what's the deal! 🙁 :xf:

they have to prepare our acceptance packets bursting with goodness:xf:

omggg dude, i just pictured the following:

- ring ring at door
- happy mailman hands me big red envelope
- happy mailman gives me thumbs up
- i rip open the envelope
- ribbons and a whole bunch of "surprise party" stuff flys out
- simultaneously get a phone call
- I pick up
- Mrs. Sullivan says CONGRATS DOC!

maybe they r planning that! that would explain the delay 👍👍👍

That Nov 1st call-by date seems to be approaching quickly...

just called out of boredom. the guy was really nice, and said they're hoping to release next week. god they keep pushing the date back! "if you don't hear next week, call back"

however, I did notice this on their website while I was trying to find the admissions number. http://som.georgetown.edu/prospectivestudents/degrees/md/

at the top it says:
The First Round of Post-Interview Decisions Will Be Distributed 11/1.

interesting. so hopefully it's the beginning of next week that we'll know? sure are taking their sweet time compared to last year...

when did you have your interview? i'm hoping that the 'First Round' also includes mid-sept. interviewees, not just the begginning of the september interviewees. i'm getting so impatient

i had mine at the beginning of september but i didn't say that specifically to the guy. i may have said early september, and he didn't even ask who i was. he just said "we're hoping by next week". hopefully you'll be in that first round group!!! i'd imagine so if they're taking THIS long...

I wouldn't get my hopes up especially when they waitlist like 60% of those interviewed....definitely a bizarre way of doing things. They should just accept more and students and let them withdraw if going to another school.
