hey, i'm hoping to get some advice. i've been complete since 8/18 (today marks 10 weeks) with no word about interviews or rejections. should i contact the admissions office or just keep waiting...? anyone else in the same boat?

i've been complete since 8/19 and haven't heard anything either. while it sucks, it's still better than a rejection and i imagine they are even busier now with sending out decisions. i'm not going to be concerned unless i don't hear anything by december.
 
I was complete exactly 10 weeks when I received my invite. I'd give it one more week. If you don't hear by next Friday, call and ask for a status. They're surprisingly receptive to phone calls given the huge number of applications they receive.

I interviewed here already, and I'd say my advice is try to relax and not worry about it. The interviewer asked me pretty standard questions (why medicine, why this school, etc), and our interview was very conversational. At least on my interview day, everyone interviewed with either a 4th year student or a faculty member. I stayed with a student so I can't really give any advice about a hotel. Oh and if you're flying in, fly to Reagan, it's a lot closer to the school than Dulles. Good luck!

Hey hopefully someone can clarify this for me: so, it's only one interview, with either a 4th year student or a faculty member, and not both? It just strikes me as odd that you might not have a faculty interview. Can anyone confirm this for me? Thanks!

Yes. Just one interview. Mine was with a very laid-back 4th year.

Just hope you don't interview with a PhD faculty member who doesn't give a rat's ass about medicine or you.

While it's easy to generalize faculty (PhDs = disinterested; MDs = cuddly and warm), I think it depends much more on your interviewer's personality. Anecdotally: one of the best interviews I had was with a PhD; and at another school where the interviewers were "supposed" to be laid back, I was grilled with ethics questions. I guess the moral of the story is to be prepared for anything (good or bad!).

had a phd here. one of the nicest guys ever.
 
just looked at website. "the first round of post-interview decisions will be released on or about 11/1". is this different than it was before? I really hope we hear back tomorrow..

that sucks, it definitely said "on 11/1" not "on or about" last time. they keep delaying it! there's no way the committee hasn't made decisions about september interviewees yet...
 
It's November 1st. Has anyone called yet?
 
Darnit. I interviewed September 8. I called in and they said I wouldn't be hearing back today. "Within the next week or two".

that sucks!! did the admissions office actually ask you for your name and amcas id to find that verdict or is that what's generally going to happen for everyone who interviewed after sept. 8?
 
just called and steven picked up. told me that they were sending out decisions this week some time.
 
Now would be a good time! They are driving me crazy, but i think my patience is improving astronomically.

My interviewer called me today and told me I got in, so decisions have been made and should be going out anytime now. I interviewed in late September.

My interviewer called me with the good news as well, though he said the official emails may not be sent out for a day or so.

email at 1:18 AM. REJECTED.

oh well. had a pretty awkward interviewer and didn't really get a good vibe from the school.....so that probably showed through my interview. best of luck to everyone else!

EDIT:

Interviewed early September. Post-interview decision made 11/2.

I think I got put on hold .. they said theyre going to reevaluate my ap later?

Waitlisted as well. Could anyone pm me Dr. Sullivan's email, or is it just the admissions email? I wrote down to email Sullivan, but I don't think I wrote down the right email.
 
for those waitlisted did you guys get the email about being reevaluated later? or was the waitlist email totally different
