Does Jefferson accept update letters in the form of fall grades? I got an email awhile back saying not to send them any transcripts and if you do, fax them or send a hard copy. Way back at the end of the summer I sent an update with new grades and they told me they would add it to my file. :scared:

You can definitely send an update letter mentioning your new grades if you think it'll help your application. IMO, if you already have a 3.8+ GPA, I don't think updating them on a few A's will really do anything unless you have other new information as well.
 
Based on past years' SSD threads for Jefferson, it looks like people start moving off the WL as early as February. Think it's about time for an LoI/Update?
 
Are acceptance calls every Wednesday?

Are you reviewed each time until you are rejected/wait listed/accepted?

Gah! I want to get in so bad.

Yeah, I would say that you should definitely start writing the LoI and sending it as soon as possible. Best of luck to you!!! 🙂

Jefferson is one of my top schools. I'm applying 2012 cycle, so I'm a bit nervous that some people with your stats aren't getting acceptances. 🙁
 
Aww, don't worry, I think I let nerves get the better of me and subsequently FUBARed my faculty interview.

It's definitely a good time to send in an LoI to let them know that you're still interested!

You are reviewed when your interviewer makes it to the adcom meeting, so it could take from 1 one week to a few weeks depending on how busy your interviewer is.

I think last year, they interviewed into early April. You can check last year's thread to be sure.
 
Just got the call! I am so amped! I am in! the call came at like 3pm eastern time.

Sure, so I was complete late Aug. or early Sept. I got my interview invite Nov 15.

Interviewed this month. Less than two weeks for a result! So, much better than the waiting at other places. MCAT 30 GPA 3.62. Jefferson is great I'm def. going there.

Accepted!!! Just got off the phone with Dr. Callahan after a missed call yesterday. Interviewed 1/5 so 7 day turnaround.

Accepted 12/8.

So I sent an update letter mid decemeber and then was told that I would be offered an interview. It has been a month and they have not contacted me for scheduling. How long would you guys wait before you call?

If you were offered an interview, why didn't you just schedule it then or call the office you were instructed to call? (not sure if Jefferson is an online system or by phone..since I haven't been invited) They won't schedule your interview for you if you don't communicate with them.

When they offered me an interview, they just gave me the date my interview would take place in the same e-mail. I think you need to check that e-mail again, and if there is no date, call them ASAP.
 
They don't let you schedule your own interview. they tell you this is your interview date do you accept in an email. did the email you got have a date or anything?

How were you offered the interview (phone, email, etc.)? Also, who offered you the interview? The only ways I've heard of interviews being offered are through email and by either Dr. Callahan or Dr. Brooks calling.

If it's a few weeks or months off, you'll usually hear by email. Phone calls are generally reserved for people who are scheduled on fairly short notice, presumably due to interview spots opening due to cancellations, etc. This is just based on my observations of people posting, perhaps others have different thoughts.

I got a call from Dr. Brooks offering me an interview. She said that someone would contact me about scheduling an interview. After a week I hadnt heard anything, so I called the office of admissions and I think they transferred me to the registrars(?) office. I was able to schedule my interview through them. I would definately suggest calling the admissions office, and let them know you had been granted an interview and that you want to schedule it. Good Luck
 
I've been hoping to get a call today, having interviewed last week...nothing yet though 🙁 maybe next Wednesday...:xf:

Yeah, that is generally how it's done.
 
when you phone the addmissions office, there's a "request an interview" choice. anyone knows how it works??
 
This is the email that I got:

I reviewed your application and I am happy to tell you that you will be offered an interview in the not too distant future.
Happy Holidays!

So they technically haven't offered me an interview...

I guess I'll call tomorrow

You are interviewing for an actual spot. There were people who interviewed on the very last day last year and got in a week later. I actually interviewed in March. So, no worries.
 
ahhh accepted! 🙂 two week turn around. Dr. Callahan made my day SOOOO much better.

Lots of ECs.

I was hoping to go to Jeff, but not a peep since I submitted back in June. Feels like ages ago.
 
Has anyone on the HP WL has heard anything yet? Understand it's still early.

It's the same situation for me. At this point, I wish I would just hear anything from many schools. As a mid-ranked school in the Philly area, Jefferson probably gets a large volume of applications.

Of course, with med schools ranking doesn't matter. It's all about fit and location.

yeah, the year I applied I believe we got over 11k applications 😱

it makes me thankful to have gotten in... there really is an element of chance in this process.

Well with apps probably well over 10k, at least I know I'm not alone. Fingers are still crossed.
 
Stay hopeful guys! There's always a chance! I believe invites go out until March-ish according to last year.

Best phone call ever yesterday. Call came around 1:55. Accepted 2/9. Interviewed 1/19. Three week turn around. The last few Wednesdays were pretty nerve racking, since 75% of people hear within one week.

I interviewed here last March and was put on HP Waitlist. I really loved it and am so glad I got the good news yesterday.

If anyone has any questions feel free to PM me.
