Best phone call ever yesterday. Call came around 1:55. Accepted 2/9. Interviewed 1/19. Three week turn around. The last few Wednesdays were pretty nerve racking, since 75% of people hear within one week.

I interviewed here last March and was put on HP Waitlist. I really loved it and am so glad I got the good news yesterday.

If anyone has any questions feel free to PM me.

Congrats! I know the feeling.. Jeff was my #1 choice and I was ecstatic when I got the call. See you in August!

Has anyone heard anything from Jeff's admissions office recently? Judging from last year's thread, interviews were conducted until the second week of April, and people got invites up to a week before that. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for an interview!

That's good to hear. I'm not really expecting any more invites, but it would be nice to get one.

I haven't been following this thread very closely and Jefferson seemed pretty quiet even though I submitted back in July. I hadn't logged into my online app for a while, and now there's a new line that says interview status: decision pending. I'm pretty sure it wasn't there before. What's the order in which application get's processed? Does this mean I should expect an interview soon, or is just another way to say I'm rejected after months of lingering along?

I just logged onto find this status as well - hope it is good news

Hmm, I have that too, and it definitely wasn't there last week.

No idea what it means though.

I added a few more schools later in the cycle, and Jefferson was one of those for me. I probably wasn't complete until November.

I have this message as well. I hadn't logged onto my Jeff application for months, so who knows when it appeared. I submitted in late July and was complete late August when my school uploaded my panel letter.

I wonder what it means... at this point, I just want a decision. I don't care if I'm rejected, I just want to know!

I just received the "decision pending" status as well. I'm not the most diligent status checker, however, I don't think that was there about 1-2 weeks ago. Let's hope it means interview invites! 🙂 :luck:

I have this status too. I've asked my friends who have had interviews here and they don't seem to have any idea what this status means... I'm going to guess it's rejection, but I'll try to maintain some hope!

I emailed them to get some clarification. I doubt they'll get back to me though, I remember they were not very prompt with emails when I emailed back in July to see if I was complete.

That's sort of how I feel at this point, but I don't have any acceptances yet, just a waitlist at my top choice school. At least SUNY Buffalo has one of the best moving waitlists around.

Pretty much anything would be nice right now. I'm tired of small pools and pre-interview holds, which I have a ton of.

It seems like everyone on SDN has 5+ acceptances by now. That probably isn't the norm, and all it takes is one.

Definitely NOT the case for your last quote -- I've had only one interview and it ended up being my one acceptance. I know plenty of people in person who have not had ANY interviews yet or only waitlists and rejections. Don't lose hope!

Thanks, I'm just venting. It's an exaggeration, I know.🙂

I know exactly how you feel... I had 2 interviews... but since 1 resulted in rejection, I feel like that one doesn't count lol. So I feel a lot of pressure with just 1 post-interview decision pending...

GL to you!!

I also just got the "Interview Status: Decision Pending." If this was a rejection, I wish they would just tell us. It seems silly to have to wait for a letter to arrive in the mail (if this is what's going to happen). It would definitely be to our benefit to know the decisions ASAP (if we're are reapplying or making decisions on other schools) AND snail mail letters are just a waste of paper. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like snail mail rejection letters are a slap in the face...

Thanks. Good luck on the decision. Do you feel like the interview went well? Most people can't get any interviews at a UC, and you got 2, so that's not bad at all. The rejection counts as an accomplishment, because just receiving the invite was a big deal.🙂

It is surprising that none of the OOS schools invited you, since you applied so broadly. The same is true for me, since both of my invites were in-state.

This process of waiting so long sucks. I interviewed back in Oct. Nov. at places and still haven't heard anything yet. Pretty much expect waitlist or rejection from them.

I don't remember my status changing at all before I interviewed at Jeff. but who knows. GL.

Thanks 🙂. I think the interview went well. My student interview was great!!! But I'm not as sure with the faculty interview... he talked almost the entire time lol.

I'm also really surprised that I even got CA interviews given my MCAT score, so I'm grateful... but I would much rather get an acceptance than just an interview invite lol. I really thought I would have better luck OOS. Though I would love to stay in CA, I would have no problem going to an OOS school.

My Buffalo interview experience was a lot like that. I really connected with the student interviewer. I at least got waitlisted. Statistically, you shouldn't get 2 rejections in a row. 🙂

so my status says "interview decision pending"...is this the same as what everyone else has?

Yes, everyone who has yet to receive an invite and posted today also has this status. I have it too, and I don't know what it means. Hopefully it's good, though.🙂

I think there's another status too that's just "decision pending"...I have a friend that has this status (pre-interview)...wondering if there's a difference

Mine says "Interview Status: Decision Pending."

Are you saying that you have "Interview Status: Interview Decision Pending"?

Yes, I have "Interview Status: Interview Decision Pending."

Well, in that case, just "decision pending" sounds an awful lot like a rejection. It wouldn't surprise me at all, actually.

Good luck, if you are invited!

I just think it's impossible to know anything either way...stressing over one word seems silly...hopefully there will be interviews for ALL

save the date for April 28-29! so excited 🙂

Now I wish I hadn't read this thread, because I'll be wondering what Decision Pending vs. Interview Decision Pending means until I get an invite or rejection from Jeff! :d

I agree that the one with "interview" sounds more promising... unfortunately I have the straight "decision pending" status.

To throw another option in the mix, I'm pretty sure mine hasn't changed to either. It hasn't changed at all

Where is it exactly? In the same place where the three 'yes's are?

It's underneath Application Status and the three yes's... and directly above "Permanent Address"

That was my thought initially, that "interview decision pending" sounds better than just "decision pending". It's impossible to know for sure right now, so all we can do is wait and see. It's all very strange and cryptic.

If it makes anyone feel better, I'm IS with a 37 and a 3.9 from a top 20 school with "Decision Pending" as my status.

I have the "decision pending" status as well.
Has anyone formally been rejected from Jefferson pre-interview so far? I was under the impression that rejections wouldn't go out until the very end of the cycle in April (after all the interview weekends had been filled); if this is the case, then perhaps this change in "interview status" at this point is a good thing...?

+1 to the status update
I don't think it's good news...

My status says "interview deferred".... pardon my ignorance, but is that a rejection?

So I had "Decision Pending" and now I have "Interview Decision Pending" I don't think there's any point to stress we just have to wait it out and hope that they're reasonably quick with releasing what this means 🙂

I emailed them to get some clarification. I doubt they'll get back to me though, I remember they were not very prompt with emails when I emailed back in July to see if I was complete.

Have you heard anything back from them, ChemMasc? It would be nice to figure out what these status changes mean before the weekend!

I still have the "decision pending" status. Anyone hear anything else yet?

Yeah I got the decision pending status as well. Assumed rejection. Maybe I should have wrote a LOI to Jefferson, now that it's possible I could end up in Philly I wish I had been able to check out Jeff!

Where is everyone seeing their pending decisions? I just logged on and the status site looks like I did 8 months ago.

Between "Jefferson Secondary Application Fee Paid?" and "Permanent Address", many of us have a spot that says either "Interview Status: Decision Pending" or "Interview Status: Interview Decision Pending".

We have no idea what it means, and if you don't have a spot for it yet, it isn't necessarily good or bad.

has anyone started filling out the financial aid papers on the Jeff IT Banner website? I have a really quick question if anyone has finished/is in progress.

That makes sense. I have nothing...that explains why I was clueless! 😀 Thanks all.
