Hello,

I will be interviewing soon and I was wondering if there's an option to stay with a current student? I'll be down there for three nights, so it would be nice to spend at least one night with a student, if that's even an option.

Does anyone know who I would contact concerning these matters?

Accepted!! notified via email sent last night. I'm pretty sure I was the last person still waiting to hear from the pre-holidays interviews. Anyways, Since its new years eve, I GOT MONEY TO BLOW!! :soexcited:
 
Congratulations to all of you who have been accepted!

For those of you have received interview invites, in the email it said not to make any preparations until they send a confirmation email so how long did it take meharry to confirm your interview date?

Mine was confirmed the same day but it may take a few days because of the holidays.

I was also wondering if any current students or highly informed accepted students know if I'm in a 2 year masters program and plan on not completing it, does that mean i can't except my invitation to Meharry since in the acceptance letter it says its contingent upon completion of your current program????
 
You are better off contacting meharry directly. Most school's frown on this type of abandonment.

True. The plan was to complete the program in a year and a half but now that I know that they offer programs in June and some schools July before the actual classes begin, I won't be able to do summer school. So it was poor planning in that regard I guess. But at the same time, I can finish this program later; i've already talked to my current program director and it's fine with them.

I emailed them and haven't received a response. I guess I'll have to wait until Monday to find out. 🙁

Hey guys. Long time lurker, first time poster here...Happy New Year.

Has anyone had any issues with trying to get them to confirm interview dates? I received an invite on Dec. 16 via email asking me to confirm a date for Feb. 14, and I replied right away and confirmed that date. However, its been 18 days and I have yet to hear back from them. Apparently, I'm not supposed to make any further arrangements until I get a confirmation from them, so I'm starting to freak out a little. I already called 2 wks ago and just sent Mr. Graves another email and left him a voicemail.

I am in the exact same boat. I also got an invite Dec.16th for Feb.14th and it makes me nervous that they haven't replied yet. I'm glad I'm not the only one though.
 
Jellybean, your post actually helps ease my worries a little. Hopefully they're just backed up/busy due to the holidays and such.
 
Just in case anybody else out there was wondering, I called and Dr. Mosley said it doesn't matter if u complete your graduate program as long as you have your bachelors. 🙂

It took them a while to get me the confirmation and that was back in November so not strange at all

Yea the holiday season is really busy as they are working with all the applicants and students as well after the semester. Just stay on them and keep calling/sending e-mails to stay informed

Hey. The delayed response may be because the school was closed for winter break and just started back January 3.



For anyone interviewing at Meharry and is looking to stay with a current student, Meharry does offer it. Contact Mr. Graves and he will be better able to direct you.
 
Im new to this thread... But anyways, is anybody going to be interviewing Feb. 21st? What are your chances after being selected for an interview???

Anyone else got the "AAMC Background Check Consent Request" in the email today? I guess it's almost 100% official, lol.

I hope they don't find out I'm related to Ted Kaczynski. 😉

Hi Everyone! I was complete wayyyy back in August and received an interview invite this week =))))) so for everyone still waiting to hear from Meharry, there is still hope! Anyone else interviewing Feb 28??

Congrats!!!!! I have an interview on Fab 14th. Is there any pointers that you could give me about the interview?

Hey Jellybean25,

my interview is on Feb 14th as well. Have you found any deals on hotel/motel arrangements? Someone else said that Mr Graves can assist us in staying with a current student but Im sure thats just for a walk through and a feel for the school. GOOD LUCK!!!! 😛

Know your application well, be ready to be asked what specialty you re aiming for and be honest, know why you wanna go to Meharry as opposed to your other schools, and just be sincere, don't make things up. I was asked by both interviewers about what makes me unique from all other applicants.
 
Is anyone else interviewing January 24th? How do the interviews work, are they group interviews? I'm really excited and nervous, this is my only interview that I've gotten thus far. If someone can please tell me what to expect out of this interview I would be so appreciative.

Two seperate one on one interviews that are apx 30 min each. It could be slightly more or less depending on a number of things. No group interviews. Most people found the interviews to be really lay back but it's not always the case. Congrats and good luck.

I guess I'll see you on Feb 14th! And I actually go to school about 15/20 mins from Meharry so I don't really know about hotel/motel deals.
 
I actually had a good first interviewer because she asked me a lot of questions. My second interviewer was weird though; he seemed uninterested. Its a good skool though. I am withdrawing my acceptance because I got into a skool I like more. I would have been attending here had I got in last cycle ( interviewed twice). Hope someone gets my spot. Good luck!!
 
Good luck to all those with upcoming interviews!! I really liked Meharry and I will definitely be coming here in June. Has anyone gotten info about Freshman orientation or financial aid yet?? Got the background check e-mail last week.

To my understanding, it just depends on the person you are staying with and his/her particular schedule at the time.

ok cool... do you now of any Motels that are cheap near there? Sometimes the good deals are hard to find online.

Just interviewed a few hours ago at Meharry. I had an awesome experience. The faculty was welcoming and warm and the interviewees were great people. I loved the atmosphere - it is definitely my first choice now. 🙂
 
I am awaiting an interview in feb, Just hoping that the class isn't full by then. This waiting game is for the birds!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Waiting for an interview since I was complete in October...kind of bummed and trying to keep my head up 😳

Hey don't worry. I was complete at the very beginning of September and I just interviewed last week. They just started interviewing in November ( I think) so give them some time and stay in prayer!🙂

There's actually only one 30 minute interview with a faculty member or clinician ( as opposed to the two interviews that were done 1st semester) and the student interviews are more of a q&a during lunch. So one student with about 5 or 6 applicants. The entire day is pretty laid back and as others have said, the interview is very conversational and I don't believe they ask any questions out of the ordinary. Know your app well, know yourself, and you'll do fine....oh and I was asked about health care reforum...but I figured that was a pretty standard question seeing as how it will affect underserved communities.
 
Hello All!!! I am new to SDN. I have an interview at Meharry on the 24th, is there anyone else that will be there with me? Praying that we all get accepted to the school that the Lord would have us to be at! I truly fell in love with everything that Meharry is and stands for and I am so grateful to the Lord that I have the opportunity to interview there.
