I applied to JMU's clinical/school psych program. Have you heard anything yet?
No, have you? I don't really expect to for another week or so since their deadline was kinda late..

I hope so, too! 🙂 Are they one of the last schools you're waiting on?Nah, nothing yet. Hopefully next week 🙂
I feel like responding to a few peoples' questions/inquiries.
BC-I heard that the counseling program already extended (all) invited. I know someone interviewing there on Tuesday the 8th.
Lehigh-They sent an e-mail invite yesterday. Though the invitation was worded rather oddly. It referenced the interview as an informational session. How confusing! I am unsure, though, as to whether or not they are done extending invites.

Anyone else still waiting on Hofstra? I really wanted an invite there. This has been a discouraging week.
I would suggest not counting out UIC just yet. I literally just hung up the phone with them (the grad. admissions coordinator). She said that she is unsure if all invites have been extended, as she has not received the final list from professors yet. It sounded to me as if individual POIs are to call about interviews, however; she stated that she wasn't sure if this had been done entirely. Maybe it has..maybe it hasn't...who knows. But I'm not counting them out yet!
I guess I am still hanging onto the hope that I'll hear from UIC. There hasn't been much news on people having received invites on here or on grad cafe... Did the person who was contacted by there POI receive an invite? Anyone know of invitations?
Also, anybody have information on how competitive it is to get into their clinical PhD? I don't think it ranks in top 15.
Would those with the invites from the University of Montana mind PMing me their POI's? I would really appreciate it. Thanks, and congrats!
I have an etiquette question about withdrawing applications. I received an offer of admission from my first-choice school and would like to accept it. I've withdrawn from my other interviews, in hopes that they'll invite someone off the waitlist, but there are a couple of schools from which I've heard nothing - which I assume means that I'll be rejected. I feel strange withdrawing from schools that I expect to reject me - like, ha, I'm withdrawing before you can reject me! - but I also don't feel comfortable accepting an offer without closing the door on every other possibility. Thoughts on withdrawing from schools that didn't offer an interview so that I can accept an offer of admission?
Congrats on the acceptance!! I would just accept it and not worry about the schools who haven't contacted you yet. If you get an interview invite, you can just say, sorry, I've already accepted an offer.
I still have not heard from the majority of my schools:
Pepperdine PsyD
Hofstra PhD
GWU PsyD
American PhD
Yeshiva PsyD
USF PhD
Suffolk PhD
Are there other people who have not heard anything from these schools yet, either?
Still waiting to hear from a bunch of my schools, specifically University of Tennessee - Knoxville. Has anyone heard anything from them?

I believe its around the general 3% acceptance rate. I'm from Chicago, and it was very important for me to stay here, but my mentor warned me that Chicago is one of the most competitive cities in the country. It's actually THE most difficult city to place in for internships.
They sent out invites a few days ago and said if you didn't get an invite then that you are probably being recommended for the masters in ed. program, waitlisted or I guess rejected. I was a bit confused and sad that I wasn't on the invite email/list so I might have the last part of this mixed up. PM if you want anything clarified or you can call TC counseling. Best of luck!anyone hear from teachers college counseling program yet?

Is anyone else tired of waiting? I'm slowly getting impatient. I have an interview tomorrow but my top choice school hasn't extended invites yet. They said they hope to do so by the end of the week. THis is going to be a very loooong week!
How long after an interview do schools tell you whether or not you got in? Does this vary by school? I know they have to tell you so you can decide by April 15th - but do most schools wait that long?
Thank you to jexa and psychphd4me for the advice. I certainly don't want to come across as pompous, but I'm ready to have the whole process over and want all the Ts crossed, so to speak. I think I'll contact Graduate School Admissions (not the psych department) and frame it that I'm accepting another offer - that feels less obnoxious than "withdrawing" my application. Thanks again!

What is everyones opinions on contacting POI about where they are in application status? Obviously, if you're the POIs first choice it is not going to make or break or you. However, if you're on the waitlist maybe it can affirm your interest and fit with that professor?
How long after an interview do you hear a response? Days? Weeks?

It's my second-to-last 🙂 How does it rank amongst your other schools? Is it one of your first choices?Yup, its the very LAST school I'm waiting on.
On the waitlist on the UM. Still waiting but i bet there is little possibility to get accepted. : (
Good luck to interview tomorrow.
I called Lehigh's counseling program today, the woman (office secretary?) was vague. She said that they have sent out invites, and she is not sure whether or not they will be sending out anymore. I think it is safe to say that I can cross them off of my list...
