I have been "Under Review" since July... I guess I should give up hope now. Damn.

There's no way they've given out all their interview invites yet. Keep in mind, outside the world of SDN people are just doing their applications now.

I got my first Interview offer with Temple!

My stats:

I hope this provides some hope for those of you applying with lower than average stats (at least lower than I've seen anyone else post on this thread) like me. 🙂

I am interviewing at St. Luke's on Oct 19. I called and Judy informed me that I should be getting an official "letter" with my interview date and with information about hotels, etc.

hi,

i was wondering if anyone could help me out. i got invited to schedule an interview, but after i click the "Schedule Interview" tab, i can't seem to figure out how to actually schedule it. all i see is a calendar, but there doesn't seem to be a way to select any day or time for the interview. is anyone else having this problem?

thanks for your help.

Congrats on the interview! I have similar stats so I'm starting to feel a little more optimistic. :luck: with your interview!

to be more specific, it literally looks like not a single day is available, and i scrolled all the way through april. this can't be right. and i tried on two different computers, so i don't know what is going on. to those who have already scheduled, how were you able to tell that the day was available? ahhh... please help!!

Relax. Schools commonly stagger when releasing interview dates so that the high demand dates don't get taken up in August (Yes, we are still in August, relax! No way all the spots are taken up!). Call them in the morning and I'm sure they will sort it out for you. Cheers.

When I scheduled mine there was a few dates in sep with no option to reschedule. You just need to find the dates they opened for you.

is it obvious on the screen if a date is available? because unless i am completely missing something, it looks like there are zero dates available. i looked all the way through april and there is nothing that seems open. any thoughts?
also, could this have to do with the fact that i haven't received an official invite to interview via email? i only noticed i got that invitation after i logged onto the web site.
thanks!

Maybe just check again tomorrow and call. It will all work out, gl with the interview!

Its a Monday which means Temple is sending out invites/responses today!

Here is hoping some of us hear something today

Interview - via status update!

7/27, In State, Lived within a half an hour of Temple for fifteen years, so definitely ties to the area 😛.

Interview Invite at Temple when I checked the website.

Didn't receive an email, so I am not sure if I received it today or weeks ago.

Completed at end of July

Probably just happened and the email will follow.

YAY! Invite, so excited. Amazing how many spots are already filled up...

Complete 8/5 or so, In State, 3.5/33.

I can't believe they are into December for the earliest dates available for interview....wow. I wonder what % of interviews have already been given out.

Same here. I've been getting tons of midwest love but nothing from the eastcoast. The boyfriend is confused because he was sure Temple & Jefferson would love me... and he's from Philly... but of course, he wouldn't let me say I have connections to the area (stupid bf). [I found out his parents live a mile from Drexel. I could just rent a room in their house, haha.]

Fellow instaters! I just found this stat on eduers..

In 2007: In-state admissions data = 1110 applied, 218 interviewed, 187 were accepted, 77 enrolled
..if that's true, 86% of the in state kids who interviewed were accepted!

Super excited for my interview now!!

Me, three.

I submitted 7/12, was complete and under review not terribly long after that.

Crossing my fingers for the both of us!

Oh, and Avoidthetiger - I fully expect this to be the school that where we interview on the same day 😉

Just got an interview invite (Complete 2 days ago). Can anyone comment on the area near the school? I'll be coming from out of state so I want to get a feel for how it is.

Thanks!

oh dang nice. i'm guessing you have good stats?

I asked a friend from Philly just the other day about the area; she said it was a little sketchy (then compared it to the area surrounding Penn, which she thinks is way nicer). But I've never been, so this is just second-hand info. Good luck!

Thanks 🙂. I have a 31/3.85. I was really surprised when it came so early. First interview too this season.

Ahh ok thanks. Anyone else with good info? How about comparing it to areas in New York or LA as far as big cities?

Also, anyone have a suggestion on getting an early interview time (AM) vs the later ones (PM)?

If you mean philly in general, its more like Boston than either NYC or LA. New York is its own type of city and LA is such a western city -- so spread out. Philly has a 'center city' and then its varying sections. Having spent time in all three cities I've mentioned, its closest to Boston.

Now, the area directly surrounding Temple is not considered to be a good part of the city (in terms of crime etc). But most students who go there (from what I've been told) live about 15 minutes away in perfectly fine areas. So Philly is fine to live in, just don't wander too far in the wrong direction around Temple itself.

And curlytop's friend was right -- I think the area right around penn is fine (if that gives you a reference point).

This is the first time in 20 years of living here that I've heard West Philly referred to as a 'way nicer' area compared to anything except downtown Mogadishu.

Nah, people overrate these things. You'll be fine. A lot of people live there, and unless you're stupid about your personal safety, you'll be OK.
