Does anyone know when the 12/7 interviewee's should expect to hear from Wright? Probably no until the end of the month?

End of the month? This breaks my heart. I want to know before then.

Best of Luck though!

It may also mean they've hit or are very close to the max number of acceptances they wanted to send out. They have ~100 spots, so may send out 200 acceptances assuming 100 will not accept. Then the rest have to go on the waitlist. They can't send more acceptances than they anticipate being able to accommodate unfortunately. Just hang in there til wait list time. IIRC, this time last year they were putting everyone on waitlist too.

Waitlisters... hang in there. Sending out good vibes. :luck:

I hope when they accept 200 it includes those from the waitlist. I cannot imagine 100 people declining acceptance and another 20 or 30 to give their seats to the waitlistees. 130 people rejecting their acceptances sounds like a very high number!

Seems like everyone is being put on the stand-by list. Right now I'm just hoping to get onto the waitlist. Good Luck to evevryone else. This will be a real test of patience!

Interviewed 11/2 or 11/3 (can't remember) and was also waitlisted. OOS applicant

for the record, those numbers (other than the actual class size ~100) were just pulled out my butt. i dont know how many initial acceptances they send out.

IIRC, the waitlist is not yet made. look back a few pages to see what standby should mean.

I was placed on the stand-by list as well. Congrats to everyone just accepted or already accepted. For those waiting to be accepted, I hope good news is coming your way soon.

I thought this was a great school when I interviewed. I enjoyed the smallness of it and everyone seemed nice.

If i haven't received an invitation for an interview yet and my status hasn't changed, should I assume I have been silently rejected?

anyone from the December 7th interviews hear back yet?

Anyone have any idea as to how many people are usually placed on the waitlist here?

For those accepted students, has anyone received the background check paperwork?

Hi everyone! This is actually my first post, I interviewed 12/8 and have been patiently awaiting to hear something! Ahh I want to call but don't want to come off impatient because of the holidays and everything. Anyone have any news as to how long it normally takes to hear back?

I was told anywhere from 4-6 weeks, but most likely around 4. Good luck!!

I believe that's done through AMCAS. AAMC should send you an email if something pops up before reporting it to med schools. Otherwise, I believe it's done in the background. I ran one myself to be sure nothing unexpected showed up.

That makes sense. Thanks for the help👍

The company AMCAS uses for the background check will send you an email and have you fill out a form to start the process. They will complete the background check and then email you again with the results for your approval.

Yes I just got an email from AAMC stating they need me to fill out some forms from Certiphi (the company that does the background check). So I can confirm above.

Anyone get the prematriculation email? Thinking I should apply because I've been super lazy since getting in and I kind of want to ease my way into med school. The downside is... well there goes 4 week of freedom for something that I maybe won't need.

Anyone else considering?

Yeah, I'm definitely going to apply.

I talked to the admissions lady and she said dec 7 people would here next week, does this mean we should expect them to send things on Monday or should we be expecting to hear at the end of next week. (they do everything by snail mail right?)

Could you explain why (if you don't mind me asking)

I don't believe in missing opportunities. I didn't major in a science, so i really want to make sure that I'm adequately prepared. I want to get back into the swing of studying as well and I want to meet people before the pressure of actual school sets in. Even if i leave the program with no academic advantage, i do think there will be a social advantage in that you will get to know the professors, campus and colleagues. It is a sacrifice though (4 weeks of summer), but I'm willing to make it.

I'm thinking of doing it for the same reasons, but I think at the end of the day, the cons of extending med school for 4 weeks outweighs the pros you just outlined.

I could start med school.... or just sit on my butt for 4 more weeks. I think I'm gonna sit on my butt. 😎 I'll think about it more this weekend.

Thanks. I'll see you this fall.

from what i've heard, the prematriculation program is a crash course in anatomy. i did not take it though I wanted to being 2 years removed from academics at the time, I wasn't accepted in time, and am doing very well so far. but yeah, the social aspect of it would certainly be fun. However, you will spend pretty much your entire first week doing scheduled social events, team building, and all sorts of other meet-n-greet activities. I think there's some major outing scheduled every day. It's a fun week.

they mail out things on Monday so we should hear by the end of next week. Yes, snail mail is how they roll.

Man, I'm anxious for news!

Good luck 🙂

I called admissions 21Jan and they said they are still scheduling interviews. I am in the same boat as you awaiting an interview invite.

I interviewed 12/8 and spoke with someone from admissions this afternoon. she said that we should be receiving letters by the end of the week

ahhh im getting so impatient to hear news I know we're supposed to find out this week...please lord give me the patience! Hopefully we hear news by friday.

Anyone planning on starting a class of 2015 FB group? Still too early?

Seems like most people are being put on stand-by. I wonder why they're still interviewing? So far I think there are 14 people on stand-by from those on SDN. Are those on stand-by interested in starting a new thread?

Any 12/15'ers hear back yet?

I interviewed on 12/14 and I just spoke to someone in admissions and she said I wouldn't hear back till late in the week of the 14th because they had to cancel some meetings due to the weather. So two more weeks I guess *sigh*

What if I haven't gotten a rejection or an interview? I sent in my second application and nothing has happened since - is this good or bad?

I cannot comment on it being good or bad but I can say you are not alone. I have recently contacted the admissions office and they are still looking for interviewees. I too am hopefully awaiting an interview invite.
