I chose Creighton because of the awesome people there, honestly. Also, in Tacoma, there is a good number of physicians and dentists who went to Creighton. They are all very well thought of, skilled in their professions, and genuine people. Several of the Creighton Docs I know are in Ortopaedics, a field I am very interested in. So, I look to these men and women for guidance/advice, most all of them recommended Creighton.

I fell the EXACT same way. I thought I had great interviews, and really saw myself as a good fit here. I highlighted all the reasons why I could fit into the program at Creighton and talked about specific aspects of the school that I liked. 🙁


Would it be possible to email our interviewers, and inquire as to why we were waitlisted? I saw that someone had done that above and their interviewer discussed what they should do to improved their application. My faculty interview was with Dr. Quinn, so should I email him or just the admissions office?

Creighton has an open door policy where you can call between 1:30-4:30 CT on Thursday to discuss your application. I'm sure they'll be available to discuss your application then.

I know about the open door policy, but I just think it would be better to talk to your interviewer directly since you already have an established connection with them. I'll try both though. Thanks!

How long was it after your interview that you heard back?

Despite great interviews, many folks do end up geting WLed. There are a variety of reasons for this.
Unless your interviewer is on the admissions committee, speaking to the Dean on an open door day will probably be most helpful. He will go through your file with you on the phone and explicitly let you know why you were WLed. (Not all schools do that). You should continue to show interest in Creighton and update your file as necessary.
 
Got accepted today! I have been on post-interview hold since December so I'm glad to have a decision! Super excited, Creighton was/is one of my top choices!

Mailed... total surprise haha. It was postmarked yesterday and the letter was dated Monday for anyone else expecting one. I was thinking about calling in during open hours this week but now I don't have to!

I had to sign for the "hold" letter but this was just in the regular mail.

I haven't seen the second look dates posted and they just sent out an email about them. They are:
Phoenix - 3/30 (second look)
Omaha - 4/13 (classes and lunch)
Omaha - 4/14 (second look)
Parents/guests are also invited to the second look date but not the one where you can sit in on classes.
 
Just called during Open Door and talked to Mr. Jarmon (who was very kind and helpful)! I was told that the committee liked my application, but just wanted to see my senior year grades. I'm sending over an unofficial transcript with my Fall grades, as well as an update letter of my activities. Those of you who are waitlisted should also call and inquire as to ways you can improve your application-they seem to be very open about it.


For those of you who have interviewed and are waiting on a decision, I would advise that you continually keep them updated. If I had sent in my transcript and an update letter in the 4 weeks I was waiting, I might not have been waitlisted.

My situation was a little bit different. I used the open door policy when I didn't have an invite yet. However, I was told that the committee decided to interview me and I would receive an invite on a few weeks. I would call if you haven't talked to Mr. Jarmon yet, it wouldn't hurt!

Also, I know they're sending out their last wave of interviews soon, so maybe you'll have some luck!

I utilized the open door policy, talked with Dr. Quinn about my file and some updates, and I received an II about a week later. I would highly recommend calling. Be prepared to have a relaxed conversation about your file. Good luck!

I was told weeks ago that the admissions committee was going to review my application for a second time. So, I recently sent in an update with a letter of intent. Not sure if it made a difference as my status page has not been updated since 12/16.

I have already called another school with a similar open door policy and was basically told there was nothing more I could send in to bolster my application for this cycle. I was informed that my application was great (GPA,Experience, EC's) except my low MCAT score. The only advice I was given was retake and aim for 30+, so I know my application has merit, I just feel like if I can get them to look past my MCAT score...

You can call and just see what they say. It won't hurt and it'll show interest.

I wouldn't underestimate the power of a 30+ MCAT score. I didn't hear a peep from Creighton last year when I was under 30. I retook it and got over 30. That score was basically the only change in my application from last year, and I got in this year. Retake the MCAT if you have to. I would advice against doing another cycle without at least trying to raise your score. I'm sure you were probably already planning on it, but I thought I'd say something. GL!
 
Does anyone know how to find the email addresses of student interviewers? While I was interviewing they told us an email was fine as a thank you to the student interviewers but I can't find a directory anywhere.
 
Has anyone heard any news yet about the final round of interviews in March? I talked to the admissions office about 3 weeks ago and they said we should know by mid-to-late February. And the wait continues......

I am wondering about this as well! Anxiously keeping my fingers crossed.... Also, does Creighton actively reject?

Hey, if you know their first and last name you can email them. All people at Creighton have a pre-assigned email of [email protected]. Some people might change it, but if I don't know someone's email from school, I usually punch that in.

I have no clue about the interviews in March, but hopefully someone can help you on that.

I'm pretty sure I will be going to second look in both Omaha and Phoenix, but I think I will ultimately go 4 yrs in Omaha.

One of my friends received an II from Creighton yesterday, so I'm assuming we will be hearing one way or another very soon!

I tried emailing my student interviewer a thank you letter (found him online), yet I kept getting a mail error. Since I already have a decision, I don't know if its worth sending it even more...

Thanks so much. Here's to hoping for the best. I didn't think it was possible but this post interview wait is even worse than the month waiting for mcat scores

When did you interview? I interviewed 1/13 and heard back 2/10, even though we were told 6-8 weeks. Hopefully you hear back soon :luck:

Last week. They told us 4-6 weeks so Im guessing based on when you heard back its going to be closer to 4. I really did love it there though. It just seemed like everyone was so much more laid back and helpful there than at other schools.
 
I called yesterday and asked the status of my app. They said its still under review and that they will be sending out the last round of interview invites by the end of this month

x3. I was told that we (or I, anyways) would hear by Wednesday.

Would really like to get an interview from Creighton. I've gotten no love from the Catholic schools at all 🙁
 
I'm starting to think Creighton has forgotten about me! I'm hoping to hear something today or tomorrow
 
I received an interview invite this morning! Yay!!! So don't worry, they're still being sent out!

Last Monday, when they had sent out a small batch, I had thought I had been passed over. Now this monday I got it. A lot of acceptances all over are going out, and people are withdrawing, until you get that rejection, I'd expect creighton to dribble out Interviews on mondays for another couple weeks maybe, or this is misguided conjecture 🙂

Do they actively reject pre interview or is it a silent rejection??
