I would think that having a time traveler would be a unique addition to the class of 2016.![]()
My roomie's fiancee is an M1 there, and I believe not very. (I'm assuming you're asking how Catholic is it, sorry if I misunderstood your question)
He's strongly Catholic and wishes it was more so.
I've interviewed at SLU, another Jesuit school and they emphasized that they are into creating well-rounded physicians that treat their patients with respect (which is the Jesuit idea of medicine), but not necessarily Catholic or even Christian. My tour guide was Hindu and said she liked to hang out with the chaplain just for fun and to relax and found it totally welcoming.
Did anyone get any confirmation from Loyola after signing/sending the acceptance letter? Might just be neurotic, but I hope mine didn't get lost in the mail![]()
Congrats again! Perhaps I can join the ranks of those accepted to med school in the next couple of weeks! 🙂I had to call them- give it a shot next week.

The values of the Jesuit tradition are very important to Loyola, but they do not push Catholicism on their students. I am not Catholic and I completely respect the values of the Jesuits like "treating the human spirit". I feel that most people in my class feel the same way. We have very strong Catholics in my class, but we also have Atheists and I feel they all agree that Loyola doesn't push the Jesuit belief on its students. How important is the jesuit tradition to Loyola?
Oh okay! Thats one of the characteristics of Loyola which I admire. ThanksThe values of the Jesuit tradition are very important to Loyola, but they do not push Catholicism on their students. I'm super excited, last time I applied (2008) Loyola gave me a silent rejection, so this is a nice change.
i was complete 8/31..... and i'm still under initial review...
for those of you in the same boat as me... did you guys call? or you just waiting it out?
seems like most people complete in august have been placed on re-review status or granted interviews...just want to make sure i'm not being dumb about this process
thanks!
I completed it sometime in August and just received an interview invite today! I didn't call, just waited it out. I'm going to interview on Jan. 14 (they also offered Jan. 11)!
Also, for what it is worth, IS (downstate); 31 MCAT; 3.5ish GPA

Congrats!!! Did you get the invite through phone or e-mail? This gives me hope. I submitted my secondary in August, but was not complete until September. I am IS and have similar stats.[/QUOTE
Were you placed on the rereview pile at all?

I don't think so. My status has said "We have received all required information and your file is under review with the Committee on Admissions" since September.

My status says my application is complete and pending further review. I just called Loyola and they said I was reviewed once and will be re-reviewed after Jan 1st. Is this basically the same chances as being on hold?

I was complete around 9/7 and mine hasn't been reviewed either. 🙁They still haven't reviewed my file according to the website. Complete Aug 31. Is anyone else in the same position?
Do you mind sharing your stats please? I have been complete since Aug and waiting to hear back. Thanks much.Interview set for next week, 12/14! Any tips or advice for the interviews at Loyola...and the weather! haha I'm a Californian, and I'm assuming I will freeze my behind off whilst there. 😀
Be genuine. Loyola's not a top 10 research school and can really see through the "fake" answers. Loyola wants genuine, honest, compassionate, service oriented people. You'll meet the dean of admissions; take what he says to heart.Do you mind sharing your stats please? I have been complete since Aug and waiting to hear back. Thanks much.

Be yourself. Everyone I met in the admissions office was completely down to earth and genuine in their conversations. Don't try to BS them 😉.
Best of luck!!
(p.s. don't worry about any interview stress, both of mine and everyone else I've talked to were completely stress free and completely low key conversations.)
Has anyone that has interviewed somewhat recently heard back? I interviewed late November and could have sworn they said the committee was meeting on Monday, but no news. I guess I'm waiting for a letter at this point.
Just got the letter in the mail today - accepted!
Thanks, stevejmarist! You too!Congrats!!
