I know what you mean. Once they start sending out invites, it all becomes real again. Right now, nothing matters. It's pretty enjoyable.
But based on the most recent USNews data, of the 144 IS interviewees, 125 were accepted, which is ~86% (my bad, I was 10% off because I hadn't looked at the numbers in a few weeks), and of the 390 OOS interviewees, 299 were accepted, which is ~77%.

I paid for it a few weeks ago.
Different years, different sources different data.
Point still stands, interview at UVA = near acceptance = you have to screw up the interview to not get accepted.FWIW, here are Mayo's stats. IS = ~40%, OOS = ~20%.

Yep - and keep in mind, those are acceptance rates, not matriculation. As mad as it seems, some people do turn down Mayo.
It was probably a -20 degree winter day when they interviewed and didn't think the whole MN winter thing would be so great.

Yes, by way of education and employment.
No family that works in the clinic...Probably physicians....If we took a look at the students from Minn, Arizona and Florida it would probably be WAY higher than the other 47 states combined

You're just projecting your hopes.
Not that I can blame you. But really, in MN alone, 16 matriculated for the 2011 cycle out of 51. That's a substantial portion of the class, so there is some regional bias, and I do wonder if there is regional bias towards the areas with the other Mayo clinics.

The first batch of LOR requests went out 7/1. No one has received confirmation, so maybe they're skipping that this year, but there's no telling if they'll give out invites to only people in the first batch or if everyone who has received them are in the pool.
You're in a good spot. I got fee received on 7/11, no word on LOR or rejection yet. So hang in there 😀 Have some Indian music with some nonsensical subtitles to help your wait.
