I almost wish I didn't know invites might go out this week, with a good chance of being tonight. I'm trying to create distractions by throwing myself into work today . . .

Did anyone recieve LOR confirmation emails yet?

Especially when people complete later than you have received invitations... including at your IS school known for favoring IS. I have noticed that many of the people receiving invites have higher stats (MCAT 36+), but not all of them. This entire process is frustrating, but I suppose we're learning valuable lessons in patience, even if they're a bit bitter to swallow.

What schools are y'all refering, I may be in the same boat...It's just hard for me to keep up with all the schools I applied to

Yes. Instead, you should want the mayo thread to have more concentrated substance than the case thread, which should be easy.

That's what makes me feel even more scurred. My MCAT is higher than the average at most schools, so if that determines the order of review, I'm already screwed. My GPA isn't great, but I didn't think it would hold me back. Maybe my biceps are too big?

Your cGPA is competitive, and your sGPA is pretty beast. It's probably not that; maybe they're intimidated by your (apparently large) biceps?

For me, UVA, Vandy, Georgetown. At least I finally got the Harvard secondary, because that was late for me too.

Uh, no. It's been my secret goal to make this thread the longest. We're sometimes on target, after all. Really, this Mayo thread is more about creating a half-neurotic/half-relaxing atmosphere. It's healthy, so long as every post can somewhat relate to Mayo, we're good.

I hate to be neurotic, but I was complete ASAP, by 7/4. Most of the people who've received them have higher stats, but not by much and not all of them. I'll give it another week before I get too worried, but this was the one I was counting on.

Yes, my biceps are massive. As proof, I curled some 10 pounders earlier today. Completed 4 reps. I'll be sore tomorrow, but it'll be worth it.

UVA is all about getting the interview; if you get it as OOS, it's about 70% acceptance rate, but IS is closer to 95%.

I bet we'd all stop being so neurotic once we get one invite, which is why we just need Mayo to come through tonight. Some of us ought to get the invite!

I don't know if the horn will actually help, but we'll see. Might depend on the school, though I'm banking on it to get me into Cornell because of their Music and Medicine program! Other than that, there's no telling. Maybe Mayo needs a few musicians this cycle!

Haha. It wasn't intended as an insult. Quite the opposite, in fact. I've been oddly drawn into this thread's daily search for interview invites. The 2am email checks are impressively dedicated. But, like I said, I have no vested interest in Mayo. I'm solely here for the hikus and videos 😀

I admit, I no longer wait up until 2:33am, but I do keep my cell phone by my bed set at a ridiculous volume to make sure that when I get that email, I'll wake up to post about it. Am I the only one that, the first thing in the morning, checks the Mayo thread to see that I haven't missed out on invites?
