I actually am keeping myself busy by reading and writing stuff for my literature and philosophy classes. Still feeling tearful every once in a while though. Is this a form of unsuccessful distraction or in-advance catharsis?

🙂 you guys had never heard that before?

also, i didn't hear back today. does that mean waitlist/rejection?

This is the running belief right now based on last years thread. If there isn't any news tmrw then I'm held to believe the wailist notification is what's left in store

hehe..I took a 3 hr nap instead and it's not helping =\

Edit: I think I'm transitioning to the bargaining step for the stages of acceptance. Ahh hoping for the waitlist at the very least!

Reminds me of the 5 stages towards death...

Reminds me of another time I failed at life.

I emailed the admissions office today and they said my application was still under consideration. Does that mean I still have a shot?

it's not over until it's over! were you deferred/when did you interview?

Wait listed just now. The waiting continues, although I don't expect many people will decline a Feinberg offer--ok, fingers still crossed!!

Wait listed :/ I hope there is some movement this year. Anyone know how many people have been pulled off the wait list in previous years? Also, are all applicants who weren't accepted wait listed or do some get rejected?

Waitlisted now and will be withdrawing. Good luck to everyone else!

I think there are some deferred applicants who are rejected when reevaluated.

waitlisted and withdrew to make room

Good luck all:luck:

How soon can we hear back if we stay on the waitlist?

Waitlisted. Really glad I wasn't rejected and am hoping for good news this summer!

Can anyone who looked through the last few years of the NW threads comment: if a deferred applicant hasn't heard back at this point, does that likely mean a rejection?

From what I remember, acceptances came in one wave, WL came in another wave, and the rejections came in the last wave. However, I thought they were much more spaced out than right now, as in, acceptances on March 1-2ish, WL about a week later, and rejections by mid-March (ie another week later). This is from last year's I think, and I don't remember if this has always been the pattern...

I really doubt they will be sending out acceptances/WL next week. I am 100% sure I will be recieving the rejection e-mail sometime next week.
Oh well, cant win them all .

Sorry to be a Debbie downer for the hopefuls out there. GL

Well it was wishful thinking on my part. Frankly still surprised they sent out an interview to a MCAT score that was well under their radar..

You must have had a strong appl in other aspects then. I wish you luck though, Its not over till it is over :xf:
Did you have any other interviews?

Alternate List. What a euphemism...

👍 So, since I'm an "alternate" I should still have all my lines and cues memorized, just in case?! Huge +1 for Loyola for meeeeee.

I'm in the same boat as well! I'm rather confused, esp considering I was waitlisted last year. Seeing as my app has only improved, I figured I'd at least get waitlisted again?

When were you deferred?

I got in to other places, but a flat out rejection is hard to take..still wanted to be in the ball game even if it is as a benchwarmer e.g. waitlist. Well if I get the email tmrw, I'll be sure to open it at the end of the day =\

To me, all I want is an acceptance, I don't even care where.... So you are good, dude🙂

Just called adcom. They said most years 30 or so students are taken off of the wait list (some years as low as 10-15), but this is out of about 200 that are waitlisted to begin with. Good luck all.

Also, most waitlist movement is in June, although it can happen anywhere between now and late summer.

Did they say how they go about selecting who is accepted? Is it ranked or do they review everyone when spots open up?

I talked to the admissions office today and they said their wait list is not ranked. I really don't understand how they would choose without a ranking system though. whats adcom?
Fingers crossed that I get an acceptance this summer. Anyone know when we have to sign on the dotted line for other schools though? I've been accepted somewhere else but would love to hold out for northwestern

I can confirm that they said the WL is unranked.

Jayzgirl, I think you can sign to hold one acceptance with infinity WL positions. But once you're accepted at NW, you have to give up your other acceptance.

To my great surprise I was accepted on 03/01 after being deferred on 12/19. Interviewed 12/02. When I saw the email from Feinberg in my inbox I was sure that it was going to be a rejection!

Well got the rejection, but surprisingly not devastated. The world moves on I guess. Good luck and congrats everyone on the long journey!

Whoa, there, cowboy. You're allowed to hold as many acceptances as you've received up until May 15th. Some may require a deposit, but most are refundable.

It was once explained to me that it depends on who withdraws. For example, if a French female with an MCAT score of 45T withdraws, they look for another French female with a high MCAT score to fill the slot.

I haven't heard anything at all and my status page still has the same "deferred" message. Anyone else in my boat?

Rejected....oh well....my individual interviewer never seemed to be interested in interviewing me anyway and because it was close to lunch time she finished the interview in like 15 min....🙁

Really depressed now.. FSM was my top choice

Just called the admissions office to see if I had missed something (I have an interesting email situation) and apparently "a decision has not been rendered" on my application. She said they had been sending out decisions for the past few days and all she could say was that everyone would have a decision by mid-march.

Not sure what to take from that.

yea my group interview was a trainwreck, still makes me cringe a little to this day. rejection still doesn't feel good but w/e life goes on right?

I haven't heard anything either... I would say no news is good news but I'm guessing we are on the fence between reject/ waitlist so getting off of the waitlist (assuming we get on!) probably isn't likely. Obviously this is just speculation though!

Just withdrew, good luck to those still waiting. Northwestern is a great school!

howieh, I hope you hear some good news soon!!! Best of luck!!!!!!!
