I really doubt they will be sending out acceptances/WL next week. I am 100% sure I will be recieving the rejection e-mail sometime next week.
Oh well, cant win them all .

Sorry to be a Debbie downer for the hopefuls out there. GL

I knew it.... rejected today.
Its funny because when my brother came home, he said "Have I received my rejection letter from NW yet?" (I told my family about the acceptances and WL send out already). Anyway I told him to shut up and that its an email, not a letter. The whole time, my rejection email was in my inbox and I didnt realize.... lol Hope yall enjoyed my story 😀.

Congrats to those accepted and Good luck to those on the waitlists :xf:

ACCEPTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ahhhhhh 😀

Congrats!

Does anyone have a screen-shot of the Second Look schedule (with approximate times) that I can look at? I didn't print it out before confirming attendance and now there's no way to do so.

guess I can hope for something besides an outright rejection then...

For those who were wait listed, did you get a response from the ao after you emailed them to say that you wished to stay on the alternate list?

Anyone else still waiting to hear? I'm beginning to think they've forgotten about me.

Nothing here either. I'm waiting until next Friday to call since they said a decision will be made by mid-march which could be anytime next week.

Glad to know I'm not alone! 😀

Yeah, I hope I'll get a decision some time next week. I just wonder what could be taking so long? I mean, it seems a bit drawn out to be waiting for a rejection.

Has anyone done the financial workup? I am trying to file as an NU-independent, and I'm wondering if Feinberg lets you know that the "appeal" went through ASAP so I know 100% that I don't have to send in parental documents before the soon-approaching deadline...

CAESAR is some kind of online thing where we manage our finance stuff. I think we still have to submit everything by Thursday. Although, it seems like more of a soft deadline. As for how quick you find out your appeal, if you email Cynthia @ [email protected] I bet she can answer that. I emailed her awhile ago and she replied right back.

Oh I see. But CAESAR is nothing we have to worry about before the Financial Aid deadline right? Also, I heard back with an acceptance on March 1, so I think I have till March 22 to send in everything, though I am not sure if that applies to all components... I did my FAFSA March 2 (I hope their March 1 deadline on that isn't strict), NeedAccess yesterday, and my snail-mailed stuff should be arriving in Chicago today (or maybe tomorrow)... Hopefully I got everything in!

Just registered for the Second Look weekend 😀

Waitlisted today at 6:30. Yaaaa! Anyone have any advice? I've already written a letter of intent and recently given an update letter as well. I don't foresee myself having many updates in the near future because I am graduated and working.

Just sent a letter of intent. I sent an update and a letter of interest after my interview. Fingers crossed for all of us on the waiting list!

I'm confused.

What do you mean submit everything? I haven't gotten a packet or anything from them yet (accepted March 2nd)

http://www.feinberg.northwestern.edu/AWOME/financial-aid/application_prospective.html

I don't think anyone received any packet from them in the mail yet... I was accepted in November and only have received the acceptance email/second look emails. The financial aid info is all on the website, though, at the link above. Three weeks after your acceptance date (or March 15, whichever comes later) is the priority deadline for them to receive FAFSA, Need Access, and the verification forms/tax returns, although you can submit things after that, but max assistance needed is not guaranteed after that date.

I was accepted in march and also got no financial info emailed or mailed. I just looked through my feinberg interview day file while working on financial aid apps for other schools, found a thick packet on financial aid, and found out there was a lot of paperwork due 3 weeks post acceptance (or 3/15, whichever comes *later*)... I think schools recommend everyone does this whether you've been accepted or not (eg waitlisted) so that you can still qualify for institutional aid, though I'm not sure. Email Cynthia as someone mentioned above - shes super fast and helpful 🙂

I really wish they would have sent out an email or something. I didn't know that deadline existed until a few days ago when you posted. I just barely sneaked everything in tonight, close enough I suppose.

Yeah I agree with that, some kind of notice would have been nice. Next up will be transcripts and Admissions Health records due, not until months from now though.

how did the match list look for NW?

Phenomenal, from what I understand. I quickly looked at the match list and it seemed pretty impressive. I know that this M4 class had an incredibly high step 1 class average (think mid 240's..) so it's not surprising that they did so well. I'm sure NW will put the list up online soon.

Does anyone know how the financial aid process works for us students on the wait list? I know different schools approach this differently. Like, after a Loyola acceptance I received a bunch of forms and they said you do not even have to be accepted to start the financial aid process. However, on NW's fin aid website it keeps referencing "accepted students" and "# of weeks after acceptance" with regards to the process. I'm guessing this means you don't worry yourself with fin aid until accepted but still really don't know. I shot the OOA a quick email about this, so hopefully I should know soon for anyone else wondering the same thing.

You will get 3 weeks to send in your fin aid application if and after you have been offered a place.

Yeah, it was probably not the best that the school didn't notify the applicants to remind us. But I guess in all fairness, the schools told us the deadline at the "financial aid talk" on the interview day (I noticed I wrote the date down in my folder), the financial info packet we received in our folder was pretty detailed, and all the schools I went to told us to do our taxes (and urge our parents) to file taxes early this year for this reason...

Pretty sure you can send in the previous years taxes if you haven't filed yet. But you should check with the financial aid office

I'm going ahead and sending in the financial aid apps and forms even though I'm waitlisted. I figure that it doesn't cost much time/effort and if I am accepted off the waitlist, all of my info will already be there.

on that note, does anyone know when financial aid information will be released?

I'm really excited for second look. Does anyone (current students) have any more insight into what will happen. The schedule seems pretty bare, especially on Thursday night. Also, is there any apartment open house as part of it?

Based on what we did last year, I'm confident we (the current students) will put something together for Thursday evening. You'll get a ton more info closer to the dates / when you check in.

I was told we'll hear back on a rolling basis (I'm guessing I'm on the late boat since I just got a complete file recently) beginning Apr 2. Hopefully it doesn't drag out too late even for late completers!

Cool! I submitted back in Feb. so hopefully I'll hear soon!

did they call/email you to let you know your file is complete?

No, I emailed them myself to check (this is what they suggested -- or call -- since this is the busiest time of the year for them).

Just set up my FSM email account. The said any financial aid stuff will come to this account only

should you set up a Feinberg email account even if you're not 100% positive (I'm more like 98%) you'll be matriculating?

I don't see any harm in it. Especially if you submitted your financial aid paperwork, maybe you'll get a better offer from FSM than the other schools you're considering?
