<3 got the call an hr ago. such a relief 😀!!
I got the call earlier this afternoon! I can't overstate how incredibly thankful and humbled I am to join the entering of class of 2012, especially if it will be at THE Ohio State University! It's never a bad thing to get a call from Dr. Capers! 😀
To everyone that didn't receive a call today, going through last year's thread shows that there were more than a handful of applicants that never received the call yet received accepted statuses. In other words, just hang tight until Tuesday morning. You're not out of the running yet!![]()
I really hope so. I really liked OSU when I visited and Dr. Capers is seriously so cool. Idk what role the awesomeness of the Dean of Admissions should play when picking a med school, but so far OSU is definitely number one in that category.
I hear you loud and clear, my friend! He is definitely someone that I would like on my side throughout med school! Dr. Capers is really supportive, and he definitely recognizes how much the students contribute to the school! 🙂
Just hang tight, check your status on Tuesday, and let us know how it goes! If on the off-chance that you are deferred, which I will pray doesn't happen, let them know that you are very, very interested! At my interview, they said that they definitely do take deferred students, so don't give up then! Again, I hope that you don't even have to go down that route!![]()
Thanks for the words of encouragement and congrats on your acceptance! OSU really seems to care about the students. Def a great quality in a school.
Anytime! Thank you for the congratulations! 😀
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
Congrats! PS Like the zelda haha
Anywhere between 12-20.
Thank you. How can I guarantee that I'm accepted?
If we interviewed October 17th, does that mean we find out on the coming Monday night?
Is Dr. Capers pronounces Cap-ers (like a cap you wear on your head) or Cape-rs (like what a super-hero wears to fly)?

You did all of that stuff, right. right?
My b, this is very, very important. This applies to male interviewees, too.You forgot that you also need to put on ruby red slippers and tap the heels together 3 times and say "theres no place like med-school"

I interviewed on the 12th and haven't heard anything yet. So I am guessing two weeks?I interviewed on that day too, and I'm pretty sure he said we would get a call in 2 weeks. But I've heard from other people OSU has a 1 week decision time frame, so I don't know...

"Candidates who interviewed between Oct 10 and 19 can expect a congratulatory call on the evening of Wed., Oct 26, 2011 beginning at 7 pm EST" from their twitter

When and how do you hear back if waitlisted or rejected?
What is their twitter?
I interviewed at this school yesterday. Everything you need is within walking distance of the college, and it seems like exciting changes (eg, new curriculum and buildings) will be in place for our class's M1 and M3. I hope to receive good news in two weeks!
i liked that aspect too, but the newer curriculum is kind of turning me off. They seem to be heading towards a lot more independent/online learning, and a lot less lecture + the fact its the first year they are trying it
Living near the medical campus is pretty safe(not so common, I found during interviewing last year) and literally anything you could want is really within walking distance. Nice deal.Everything you need is within walking distance of the college,
Trust me.... Having less lecture is far better than having more. They seem to be heading towards a lot more independent/online learning, and a lot less lecture
no one get the call yet?
I'M IN!!!!!!! Ahhh
Theres no way only one person got in tonight!
Practically speaking, is deferred a separate status to waitlisted here? I know that officially it is, but have any current students been successful after receiving this status?
Thanks
