I'm totally not sitting in front of the computer, refreshing the School Specific Discussions page and pretending to ignore the phone that's barely an arm's reach away.

Pardon my double post (and overbearing neuroticism) , but has anyone heard anything yet?

No calls last night... :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

Has anyone received an email/status change from tOSU regarding their fate? When can we expect such an email/status change?

I was all devastated by not hearing from Dr. Capers last night, but nobody else has reported receiving said call. Should I be cautiously optimistic, or can some fortunate (that is, accepted) soul please step forward?

In my case (2 or so months ago), my status changed to deferred the morning after he made all the acceptance calls. I would not be surprised if he just didn't get to it last night.

That is what I am thinking too.

For people who are currently or thinking about taking the WVU anatomy course, are you doing both the lecture and lab components? The prereq details on the OSU admissions website says that lab is preferred but not required... anyone know if we can just take the lecture component of the WVU online course?

Why not do the UC Clermont course? No lab.

That's an interesting question. I had assumed that they approved it only for the lecture/lab combo. But I suppose there would be no harm in clarifying that with admissions.

Has anyone asked admissions about this already?

Deferred as well.

Just curious, was anyone accepted?

I asked admissions today. They said that only a lecture component is required, regardless of whether it is an online or in person course.

And... I'm not an OH resident, so UC Claremont a bit more expensive than WVU.

Hope that helps!

F*****G deferred. Not too happy at all about this one 🙁

Indeed I am. Saw them for the third time in January and they were mind-blowing, as usual.

That's awesome. I'm a huge fan as well. I've been wanting to go to a concert for years, but everytime they're playing nearby, theres some reason why I can't go. T_T

h0p3ful1, when was your interview date? Have all the acceptances from the March 7th interview date been notified? My status has been reading deferred and I wasn't sure if that was a default status for everyone after the interview or if it is legit.

Unfortunately it's legit. I can't remember now what the status was after interview, but it wasn't deferred. 🙁

Crap. Did anyone from the March 7th interview date get accepted? Very frustrating. How long does it take for them to make up their minds on the deferred applicants?

Dr. Capers said they keep reviewing deferred until they fill the class so it's up to them I guess.

When I interviewed on monday he didn't say. Would love to know if anyone has this info

I wonder how many interview days are left. Also, it would be nice if accepted applicants who are going to be matriculating elsewhere would be so kind as to withdraw from OSU.

I'm not positive, but I read on the forum that next monday is the last day.

I have an interview on Monday. I requested a host and provided all the information requested but was never assigned to anyone...I'm getting a little anxious as I'm supposed to be there on Sunday evening. Do any students that frequent this forum have the ability to host someone/know someone that can host me on Sunday night?

I'm male if that is important to you.

Thanks in advance for helping out an applicant!

Yeah you might need to just get a hotel. I enjoyed my stay at a Red Roof Inn. It was 40 bucks.

Anybody else starting to feel like getting off the deferred list at this point in the game is a pipe dream? Looking at the threads from the last two years, it seems like almost everybody on the deferred list ended up waiting around months for nothing. Also, seems like hundreds of people are getting deferred. Anybody know if things are going to be different this year? I did see a couple months back that somebody called the admissions office and was told they expect to admit 25% of deferred applicants. Somehow, I doubt that.

My understanding of deferred seems to be different than what OSU has then... I thought they would be making a final decision soon since the last interview was this Monday (i.e. accept, reject, or waiting list). Does OSU's deferred status basically mean waiting list then?

Seems like in the past couple years, most or all deferred applicants who were not accepted by the time interviews wrapped up automatically joined the waitlist.

Deferred as well. Interviewed 1/17, heard back two weeks later. Huge bummer. It will be the FIFTH wait list for me then...

The 25% number probably includes people reevaluated throughout the year as well as those rolled over onto the waitlist who are eventually accepted.

Last year I assume there was no waitlist movement at all what with the overenrollment, but that gives me hope that maybe they were a little gun shy with acceptances this year and there will be a good number taken.

Here's the part where we all hope that Dr. Capers got too busy and that he'll make our acceptance phone calls tomorrow...

Then tomorrow afternoon, someone posts that they got the call last night. 🙁

How long do you have to accept an offer once it's been given?
