Has anyone else who got "Correspondence Sent" status on the 11th not heard anything yet? I thought its suppose to be about a week before you get a decision after that status but i guess things have changed.

Folks that have been complete since late Sept./early Oct.....what have you heard? I haven't heard squat. A'ight Temple, you can remove your proverbial foot from my spleen any time now....:meanie:

Do they send II's by snail mail or email?

II are by email

+1

waitlisted today 🙁
i was complete mid-July, interviewed 2nd week of October and had "correspondence sent" this past Thursday

Great. Thanks. I didn't get the letter yet (email received today).

Yeah, the letter got to my house (and my mom called to tell me about it) like a week after I got the email and I had already paid the deposit. Furthers my theory that the "correspondence sent" status means "correspondence is planned to be sent in the next 1-3 weeks"

For those who have interviewed:

Which interview is closed file and open file? Would I be correct to assume that the staff interview is open file and student interview is closed file?

Thanks.

Yeah. That's how it was for my group. When's your interview?

Student knows your name and the school you attended for undergrad I believe.
Faculty sees everything.

Just got accepted!! Only a few minutes ago! It was a nice Thanksgiving surprise!

My secondary was sent in early July. I've been "under review" since mid-August. Does this mean I'm on hold or have they really just not looked at my application yet?

Hey all... I will be interviewing here this Thursday and I was wondering/hoping for some feedback/advice on the faculty interview. Thanks!

I'm in a similar situation. I wonder what it means.

By now I'm guessing they reviewed it at least once. I didn't submit my secondary until Sept 30th and I received an II. Assuming they review apps in roughly the order in which they're received, they probably didn't skip yours. They didn't reject you outright for a reason, so hopefully they re-review it and give you an II.

My faculty interview was pretty low-stress, and I felt very comfortable being candid with my interviewer. It was a short interview, but he started right off the bat by asking about my views on the current healthcare system, e.g. problems with the system and why these problems exist. Definitely be prepared to answer that question. Other than that, I think I only got one other question, which was "Where do you see yourself in 10 years?" He spent most of the interview talking about Temple.

II today I'm super excited. Complete 10/22

Congrats on the II! I just interviewed today and was very impressed. The students clearly LOVE their school, the facilities are gorgeous, and the faculty there seem really supportive of their students. It's in the middle of a very bad neighborhood, but the security is very tight around the school, and everyone said they feel safe there (except perhaps at night). That and the fact that most students don't live near the school are the only real cons I could find. But they really don't seem to mind the commute at all.

I had no problems with the student interview -- it was very chillaxed. The faculty interview was a little trickier. It was still mostly stress-free, but a few questions caught me off guard. I didn't really have a good "what will you bring to the class?" answer prepared and unfortunately that one came up. He also asked questions about healthcare, so definitely brush up on the main points if you need to. The questions weren't that difficult, but you need to know what you're talking about. He also asked about my childhood, occupations of my family members, and what I did in high school. Wasn't expecting that at all. It seemed he really wanted to know my background well.

We were told that they surpassed 10,000 applications already and will probably break their record, I think somewhere around 10,300 or so from last year. They interview about 1,000 of them (<10%). It seems to be a very competitive year.

Does Temple average your MCAT scores if you have more than one? Also, do they show significant in-state preference? All stuff I suld probably know, but I just said wh the heck, I like the school, I'm applying.

But I have been complete for a looonnnngg while, and am starting to wonder what's up.

They consider the most recent MCAT score and about half (~50%) the class are PA residents. Years ago ~75% of the class were PA residents, but they don't receive nearly as much money from the state anymore, so they look at OOS more than they used to.

They have that "Send us Stuff" link on your status page. I emailed them about sending an update and they told me to upload it through that. I have a feeling it didn't get looked at...

From what I remember last year, they rejected all of us at once in late March. I'm pretty sure Temple doesn't reject anyone before then.

Does anyone have the link to the portal? It keeps giving me a whole security certificate thing and I can't get into it...

anyone had a status update recently?
this thread has been quiet and I've been waiting post-interview for a pretty long time in Temple terms.
Guess I need to learn some patience before I end up calling and getting on their bad side haha.

i know....... come on temple!! 😀

I'm sure you guys will be hearing something soon. I think my decision took 3 weeks, but that was a month ago (they may have gotten farther off track) and they probably took the whole week off from adcom meetings for Thanksgiving. Good luck! I know the wait sucks, but I don't think it will be much longer :luck:

Complete since late July, just got an interview invite--finally a little hometown love! (I've been complete at all four Philly MD schools since the end of July and thus far all I've had to show for it is a Drexel pre-interview hold.) It's already after 4PM EST, so I'll have to call tomorrow, but does anyone have any idea how far out the interview spots are at this point? [flips anxiously to the January calendar page... 🙂]

Anyway, to the folks who've been complete for 3+ months with no word, (no updates sent, no inquiries) keep your chins up!

Just got an interview invite today as well! I seriously was not expecting one relatively late in the process. Good luck!

interview invite!!!!!!!!

My time line:
Secondary Received (06/27/2011)
Complete Status (7/14/2011)
Interview Invite (12/7/2011)

congrats guys on your IIs after such a long wait. Hope you have a great interview day, I sure did!

INterviewed 11/17. status changed to "correspondence sent" sometime this week...no email =( does that mean its either a waitlist or rejection via snail mail?

Not necessarily. I had correspondence sent for three days before I got my acceptance email. Correspondence sent just seems to mean that a decision has been made.

I interviewed a month before you (end of October)....and still no word. I hope this doesn't mean rejection, or that they forgot about me haha. would it be appropriate at this point to call them tomorrow? or am i jumping the gun?

That's interesting. When I interviewed, they made it sound like it would take no longer than a month to received a decision. Has your status changed to "Correspondence Sent"?

Nope, nothing. and I got the same impression about the month. :scared:

yea at mine they said "to be safe, we'll say within a month"...

my time-line:

7/5 secondary sent. complete sometime in early july i think.. it was one of my first secondaries so i only wrote short 2 paragraphs for Why Temple and i didn't directly talk about the school specifics either.

interview invite 10/31; i didn't send any updates pre-interview.
interview11/9 (the earliest possible interview slot to sign up was on 11/1 when i received the invite email lol!)

accepted 11/23 the night before thanksgiving 😉

so don't lose hope if you haven't heard anything in forever! and the dean of admissions told me i got lucky because my faculty interviewer is really fast at evaluating so she told me that day i will probably find out before thanksgiving, which turned out to be true -- how soon you hear back apparently depends on who you have as your interviewer!

Temple was so great-- it was one of my top choices and it lived up to the expectation. <3 (minus the OOS tuition...)

UPDATE: just got an email this morning with some super awesome news =))))). i guess there's approx. a week worth of wait between the status change and email.

Accepted the day before Thanksgiving too! 😀 Who knew the best part of Thanksgiving this year wasn't going to be the food!?!? So excited to go here!

They accepted a bunch of us on that day last year, too, myself included. 🙂 It was great. My family likes to go around the table and say what we're thankful for, and I surprised them all with the news when it was my turn. 😀
