Does anyone know why Tufts is ranked so low on US News research rankings? I feel that the medical school name doesn't even come close to its undergraduate prestige. If I remember correctly its ranking fell from 46 to 51 in just one year last year. For the people who already attend the school, is the leadership aware of this and what are they doing to fix this problem?
 
Just got an email update about the MD/MPH program and it looks like there aren't any spots left at the moment, but there might be openings in the future... Anyone know how likely it is that seats will open up?

any more calls or emails to update address/phone numbers? Come on Tufts! My enrollment for next quarter depends on that one call 😀

Yes, still technically available via the secondary site's calendar. Though I doubt there would be any additional invites at this point.

I think it is theoretically possible to be rejected immediately post-interview, but just judging by this thread it doesn't seem too common. But some of us are probably ranked higher than others 😉
 
Combing through last year's thread, it seems the deferred should most likely expect no news until June at the absolute earliest. It was also strange that there were no rejections announced. Perhaps they hold your heartstrings until matriculation, or perhaps getting rejected in the summer is almost moot in making a post for.

Bad news for us no-acceptance-havers 🙁

The e-mail said that a final decision could be reached any time between now and the end of May. But I would bet on us hearing later rather than earlier...

Deferred 3.7/36. I'm pretty sure deferred people will either get accepted by may, or if they do not get accepted, they will have the option to go on the waiting-list. This whole process is killing me. The anxiety is crippling.
 
I fully understand my deferral (was shocked to even get an interview), but some of these results are really...strange. Is there a yield-protection thing going on here?
 
Interviewed here on 3/6. I guess I forgot to post when I first got the II on 1/24. And those of you who got deferred, at least be glad you didn't get rejected post-interview. I know it doesn't seem common based on this year's thread, but I also interviewed here last cycle on 3/8/2011 and got rejected post-interview and wished I got deferred. So yeah.
 
I just wish they'd reject me pre-interview so I can move on with my life.

Good point. I'm really not expecting to get in, so if I actually do, it will be a very nice surprise. I feel for the higher-stats people, though. It's all so random.
 
For those of you who have been accepted and are for sure going to Tufts, any thoughts on housing/Posner? I kind of want to live in Posner since it is really hard to apartment hunt from out of state, but I've heard the dorms are kind of gross. Input from current students with experience is also appreciated! Also, if there isn't a meal plan and a communal kitchen, do people just end up always eating out? Or is the kitchen clean enough that one could actually cook in it?
 
A question for my deferred brothers and sisters, just for my own curiosity: how do you think your interviews went? I felt mine were OK, no major missteps or awkward moments, but I couldn't get much of a read on either situation. They weren't giving much away.

mine went really well...or so i thought
 
I think I sent my secondary in on 1/15. Got Interview Invite today, 3/9. Going to be interviewing 3/29 if I don't get accepted to UMMS by then.

I'm guessing I'm interviewing for a wait-list spot. I'm 4.0/37L
 
Ive had no news from this school. Do they not reject pre-interview? Seems to be getting late in the game.

So now that some more invitations have gone out, are there any dates in March that are still available on the interview page?
 
I really loved tufts and I hope I get in off the deferred list!

This seems strange to me. When I interviewed 3/1 they were still trying to convince people to apply to the program and said that they accept applications up until the day before classes start haha. So maybe as people withdraw acceptances more spots will open up, but I don't think it's anything md/mph applicants need to worry too much about
 
Rejected pre-interview. I was keeping my fingers crossed that there would be one more day. Good luck everyone!
 
Pre-interview rejection as well...they must be cleaning up! Complete mid-september
