Same and I was complete August 11. They just finished the 8/8 rejections, so we are coming up.

Yikes! I guess you're right. Here's to hoping...

I visited the school in January to visit a friend who is now an MS2, and I loved it. :xf:

What do you guys think of Tulane's ridiculously high acceptance rate among those interviewed? I think it's like 80% (350/440 last year, and it seems like they annually interview 500 and accept 350). As long as we don't botch the interview badly, we can expect good news?

As someone with an interview invite, it makes me happy. At face value, 3 out of 4 interviewees will eventually receive an acceptance. If you narrow the scope to September interviewees, the acceptance rate must be even higher! One thing I know for sure, though... do NOT approach your interview with the attitude that "as long as I don't throw up onto my interviewers shoe, I will get in here." Prepare as you would if you were interviewing in late March at Weill or Hopkins. Your Tulane interview will not be a formality.

Oh, and btw, you will love Tulane. It is an awesome school!😍
Oh, no way I would bring in that mentality to an interview. This will only be my second interview in 3 years, and I've been preparing ever since I've heard from them last week. Been preparing my ***** off and all I see from this school are positives (except for the high tuition lol) Can't wait for that interview day in the 30th

Is there a complete email other than the one that says:

"Dear XXXXXX,

The online form that you just completed has been successfully submitted
and time-stamped.

If you have any questions, direct them to [email protected] and please
include your order-id: TULANESA_########_##############"

I submitted on 8/11 and am wondering when I should expect any sort of communication from Tulane.

I know what you mean, though. The ratio is highly favorable. Personally, I wish I was not made aware of those numbers. Congratulations on your persistence and interviews. I know exactly how it feels to be applying to medical schools for the third time. With two invites already, this is your year! Hang in there, pap.
May I ask how you're a medical student but applying this year?

Oh man this only makes me want an interview that much more...although being rejected post interview would sting

Hearing these stats only makes me want to get out of this limbo even more....seems like they're definitely beyond my 8/2 completion date at this point :xf:

It definitely would sting badly

That would be an incredibly painful experience. To make matters worse, it's going to be my first medical interview ever - I've been on job interviews before, but the stakes are appreciably higher in this case.

Tulane's your first interview Peter? GL on it :luck: I'm sure we'll all do fine. Just hit those interview feedback pages

Yup. Hit me up after 9/12 and I'll give you some feedback / insight. From what I understand, it's going to be closed file, low-stress interview. I love the fact that a high proportion of interviewees are offered acceptances, but let's worry about sealing the deal first 🙂

Haha, thx. I think I've figured out this much: closed-file, 2 interviews + 1 student interview, asks a lot about school/town, laid-back and standard interview 😎

Waiting for the complete e-mail feels like forever. Did anyone else assign more than 3 LoR from AMCAS?

If you survive your cut date, are you pretty likely to get interviews here? I didn't get a chance to follow this thread

When were you complete? Let's seriously hope so, as I'm in the same situation as well.

I hope that's the case. I was complete 8/5 and haven't been rejected yet so fingers crossed :xf:

If you haven't been rejected after a certain time frame, you're in a very good position and consider yourself lucky. Just read the thread to gain some perspective 😀

My date was 8/5 as well (or was it 8/8); either way, it seems both of them have passed. Tulane is a very unique school that I would love to visit, but with 11 other interviews this semester I'm not sure how much school I can miss.

I would definitely trade one interview for this one

Best of luck all!

I definitely hear ya there...I was complete 8/2 and Tulane is one of my very top choices because of their integration with medicine and community service. I haven't had the incredible success you have had but I'm already cringing at the fact that I'll have to miss class for 4 interviews especially since I'm in a Master's program that in itself has a good tie in with the med school there and this current block is pretty intense. But yeah good luck with the 11 interviews wow!

I have been complete since 7/26 and have not heard anything...I know that it is still early in the cycle (at least for those who are interviewing) but hearing something, anything, from them would be awesome!

The rejections have been a little quiet lately, so I am not sure whether they are actually through early to mid-August applications yet, or if they are just reviewing these applicants to determine more invites and rejections. I sincerely hope they have finished, but I somehow doubt they have. I imagine if you are a late July applicant that hasn't heard anything you are in a pretty strong position, but I would be wary to count August out of the mix. I haven't seen any reported rejections from people beyond August 9th, so they must still be reviewing early and mid-August. If anyone has seen rejections beyond this point, I would love to know. :luck: I imagine we will see another batch of invites and rejections for the early August pool next week. :scared:

I thought I was complete since early August but I just got this today. After reading last years thread I'm worried that a rejection is coming soon.

I received the same e-mail and was invited to interview ~3 weeks later.

Isn't that just the general complete email that everyone gets?

Yeah, that's just the general complete e-mail everyone gets...you must've submitted your application in August then. I completed my application in mid- July, got this e-mail on August 2 and I'm still waiting....agh.

wop-wop

First (non-silent) rejection today, and it came from Tulane. Oh wells. You wins some, you loses some.

Sorry! When were you complete?

EDIT: Nevermind. Did the math. Looks like 8/11.

actually I have it as 7/26 on my handy dandy spreadsheet.

On 8/21 you said you were complete 10 days ago! I'm offended that you would lie on a public forum. You're a monster.

It seems like that a lot of SDN ppl applied early and thus heard back from Tulane early. Maybe the lack of rejection posts reflects that: a lot of ppl have already heard back here in SDN + Tulane's rejections are still streaming. So if you haven't heard back and your wave has already passed, just wait for the good news :xf:

If I don't hear the good news, I am going to tell them to give me your interview. 😎

submitted my secondary 8/11 still haven't gotten complete email

Flying out to NOLA tomorrow morning!!! So excited!

For anyone looking for something to do, I recommend getting coffee and beignets at Cafe Du Monde, or getting a po boy sandwich at Mother's. Both are in downtown NOLA and I fully endorse them! I'm sure your interviewers will know about these places, and it will be a great way to break the ice.

Good luck to all you 9/12ers! :luck:

For those of you guys interviewing on Monday the 12th, make sure if you have a chance to check out the New Orleans Seafood Festival in Lafayette Square (about a 10 min walk from the Tulane Med Campus) off of Poydras Street and St. Charles Ave.

You will be able to hear some amazing local music, eat to your heart's content with all the amazing food vendors throughout the city, and have something awesome to talk about when asked what you've been up to so far in NOLA.

Yesss I second both of those!

Just got here this afternoon!!! 🙂

I ate beignets at du monde then I strolled over to cammelia grill for a burger and a large order of chilli cheese fries😀.

omg yall are making me jealous,
I gotta wait another week, but then my parents are driving down and picking me up after the interview so I get to be home for the weekend.
good luck yall, enjoy the big easy!

Looks like the roll I was on came to an abrupt halt with Tulane!

Rejected via e-mail today, complete 8/11

Good luck to everyone else interviewing/waiting for decisions here!!

I was complete the day after you, so it looks like I might be axed this week. I'm very sorry to hear about your rejection, but I will probably be joining you soon. :scared:

+1 on this - right down to the complete date. Is there anyone who was complete since before 7/26 who is also experiencing radio silence? I know it seems like no news should be good news, and I'm grateful I haven't seen the axe yet, but it's making me anxious....

I think the thing I learned from this thread is:

"NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS"
