Yea according to USNWR last year about 18% of applicants received an interview and of those getting an interview about 30% were accepted
Congrats! I am not in the US currently, so I don't really know if I got any mail or not. Won't be able to figure that out for another two weeks...

Just to confirm - there is no fee to be paid until we are invited to complete the secondary, right? It seems weird to recieve an email form a school and not reach for my credit card...
I received no Vandy mail today, either. I get the feeling a rejection is headed my way. Too bad, this was a top choice of mine.
Why would you assume you're getting rejected? It's AUGUST! They've just starting sending out invites.
Because last's year's thread has sucked the hope out of me. Though this year could play out differently, I guess.
are there student hosts for the august interviews? mine is next week, and i havent heard back from my request yet.
I wonder why they don't use email...USPS delivery can be sketchy and unreliable for me.
To try to answer your question, Vandy uses email to let us undergrads know that we will be receiving another email shortly or to tell us to watch for a letter arriving by USPS. They also use USPS for monthly notifications to tell us that "they are going green" and will not be sending a paper bill that month and that instead we should be expecting an email with the link to pay the bill online.

When you guys talk about AMCAS being verified, are you guys referring to the email that Vandy sent that starts by saying, "Vanderbilt University School of Medicine has received your AMCAS application via electronic transmission..." ??😕

What do you guys think about holding off on selecting an interview date, until I hear back from more east coast schools? Will this hurt my chances? I live in CA, and if I keep flying back and forth to these schools the costs are going to rack up pretty quickly.
I'm in the same boat... well, just slightly north of you in Oregon... I'm thinking I'll just set mine for the middle of September and hope to be able to add interviews on later.
I got my VANDYMAIL!!! Whoooooo!!! So yeah, I was a little too quick to get discouraged about this, it just took the USPS way too long to get it from TN to FL.
