I had my interview today. Vandy is awesome. The Nashville area reminds me so much of the place that I live now: Everyone is laid back, friendly, outgoing. Southern hospitality at its finest.
I could definitely see myself studying here for the next 4 years. Go Vandy go!

Isn't Vandy beautiful? 😍😍

. Hope you get in.Does anyone know if they take second looks at primaries? I submitted my primary June 7 and got the e-mail from them in late July. I have now updated the Admissions Director twice about what I am currently doing that wasn't in my AMCAS and have 2 new rec letters. Vandy is my top choice and the stress of walking to the mailbox each day sucks. COME ON VANDY!

First rejection. Weak sauce.👎

via email?😕
No, it was in the mail. I had my preferred address as my permanent address at home. So my mom informed me of the rejection letter, since I am at school. So that makes it even worse...

Oh crap, I was hoping that any "real" letters from Vandy would be good news.. now I'm extra nervous about checking the mail. 🙁
Reeeeeeeeeeeejected! Thankfully I saw this one coming a mile away. Thanks for at least not taking more of my money, Vandy!
to all those still in the mix.
to all those still in the mix.SO and I submitted secondary at same time and got assigned the same interviewer.

So one of you is going to get the inside scoop? 😀SO and I submitted secondary at same time and got assigned the same interviewer.![]()

Well, we also have the same interview time.
Interview invite today! Totally unexpected/act of God!
I received an email from Vandy around 7/22 letting me know my app had been received.

Surprised by a thin envelope in my mail today thinking it was a rejection. Turned out to be an interview invite! Definitely my top choice based on what I've read and heard from faculty/students. 🙂

Congrats y'all!! I'm sure you immediately forgave them for the thin envelope trickery 🙂
I checked this morning buuuut maybe I'll check again on the way home... can't hurt, right?
I'm considering a toddler-holding-its-breath-type move... I am going to stare at local native's avatar until Vandy loves me...

Looks like you're not hurting too badly on the interview front, Fizz.
I'm sure yours will come in due time though! One thing I am glad for is that I don't have to compulsively check my snail mail anymore.
3.79 overall, 3.8 BCMP, 32O, OOS
Should I ask Vanderbilt about my status if I received my AMCAS confirmation email from them on 7/26 and nothing in the mail since?

I wouldn't. Vandy is pretty good about sending out either rejections or interview invites and given that you have neither right now may not seem like the best thing but at least you're still in the running.
my mom took all the suspense out of the envelope, they sent it to my house so she called and left a message but said "congratulations"
Not complaining though, 😀 so excited! this school is definitely a reach.

@midevilrabbi I'm in the same boat as you (got the confirmation email on 7/26) and I haven't heard anything either.
complete 7/22
Anyone know the interview dates open right now?
^ Same question. Can someone post available dates?
Rejected yesterday too!
I received an invite yesterday! Really excited.
Congrats, Snuke!
My first interview!! Weird thing is that the invite snail mail letter was postmarked BEFORE my committee letter was written/uploaded to AMCAS! How can this be?

They don't look @ LORs before Invites
Question to those of you who are submitting individual letters to Vandy, instead of a committee letter:
The website says "send three letters of recommendation: two from science faculty who have taught you and the third letter from another person of your choice. Letter packets are also accepted" and it also goes on to mention "If you have advanced degrees or at least a year of postgraduate full time employment, it is advisable to ask your supervisor at work or a member of the graduate faculty to send a letter of recommendation."
Does that mean we can/should submit more than three letters?

Asking again. Can someone post available dates? OR Tell me what there is between 9/20 and 10/1?
Thanks!

none
Rejection in the mail today.
34 R, 3.9 GPA, and a bangin' primary application. Not sure what Vandy was looking for. Hmmm, let the speculations commence. Oh well, on to the next one. Good luck to everyone out there still waiting to hear back. And enjoy pursuing the art of healing, no matter what institution you end up in!
just curious-as i got mine today too 🙂 - whether it was a lack of research? i noticed in my MSAR from 10-11 that 96% of accepted had research. while i have some, its only a few months worth. perhaps looking for research? just curious as i really liked this school...but c'est la vie

I have limited research experience and was fortunate to interview.

Yes, I sent five and they said it was fine (but only three will be listed on the website).
