its currently peak time for wake now so it might take much longer than what was said earlier.
You won't hear anything from WF until your primary is verified. Even then it might take a couple of weeks.

Ugh that's disheartening since I just submitted the secondary..oh well I guess
do you guys think, as an OOS applicant, it'd be beneficial for me to describe my ties to NC in the additional comments part of the secondary? (they are that my boyfriend's entire family lives in Raleigh, and we would like to ultimately end up as close as possible...) or since it's private does it not so much matter and should I focus on the merits of the school itself? thanks for your input 
So, it has been one week since a lot of us received the "Your application is complete. Interviews are by invitation from September to March. If you are invited, you will receive a e-mail or phone call to schedule an interview." status update.

Wake Forest specifically says on their website that they consider state of residence when deciding on admissions, so obviously that sort of thing matters to them.
However, and this might just be me... but I always worry about being discriminated against on the basis of marital/family plans, so... maybe I'm totally paranoid. But if it was me, I would carefully consider before saying anything about making decisions on the basis of your boyfriend. Sorry if I sound totally nuts!
I just got an email from them 7/25 saying they got my primary, my primary was verified 7/19
Check your status in the link provided in the e-mail. If your status eventually says "a secondary application has been sent to you" through e-mail you passed their screening. If it says anything else, you didn't pass the screening.

It took two weeks for them to email me saying that they'd received my primary. My status changed to saying I was getting the secondary within 12 hours though.
I just checked and my status changed:
Your application is complete. You are invited to call and set up an interview with us at your convenience.

anyone know the ballpark figures for this year's wake forest screen? I haven't received anything but my stats are solid, soo I dont' think I got screened out but you never know. thanks!
They don't screen solely on numbers...it's a holistic screen. One applicant a few pages back had a 35+ MCAT and got screened out, so you can't always tell based on stats unfortunately.
Sorry about the rejection, but I agree with you. Last year I received a secondary application from a school before my AMCAS was even verified, (before my MCAT was even scored), only to be rejected less than 24 hours after paying the secondary fee. I know they did not read my secondary application in that time, they could've at least tried to appear as if they were interested in something other than taking my money.

Called Wake today. A wave of invitations for interviews will go out towards the later end of this week.

I got an interview invite this morning! I wasn't really expecting to get an interview here, to be honest, but I am pumped. This is my first MD interview.
I haven't called to set it up yet. For others who already have interviews, what month are they starting interviews in? How far out can you schedule?

They start the first week of Sept. And are Monday through Friday with none on Thursday.

For those of you who were screened out, where you OOS? I'm an OOSer and am just curious.
same. I think quite a few OOS get screened in.
Yeah, I know that Wake Forest prefers IS but compared to state schools they are pretty liberal with their admissions, I think. I'm hopeful! 🙂

Do they tell us if we got rejected pre-secondary or do they just never say anything?
You'll get a status change that says something like "check your e-mail" and then your e-mail will tell you you're rejected.
They start September 6th.
So, I'm currently working on the personal comments section, in which I'm telling Wake how I think they're sexy, and also how we'd be even sexier together...without using the word "sexy."
Mine is 9/9.
