Imagine if the Ph.D./Psy.D. program acceptance/rejection emails were going out at the same time as these internship notifications; I'm pretty sure the SDN servers would explode.
 
OK, so I've gotten 2 interviews and 3 rejections so far. Whats a good number of interviews to get to have a good chance of matching? Anyone know?
 
I think I read somewhere on this thread that 7 is a good number of interviews to have a good chance of matching. I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed on getting to that number!!!

did anyone get what sounded like a wait list offer from boston consortium?

Yeah, I think the data presented was that the average number of ranked sites for students who matched was 7-8, and for those who didn't match was 4-5. Or something like that.

Was this the UCLA college counseling center internship, or another UCLA internship?

Also, just so people know, some of the college counseling center information may not come out until those college's semesters are over or at least in finals week. I have a practicum at Purdue, and I was told by our training director that they won't be reviewing apps until mid december and wont meet to decide on interviews until around the 15th or 16th.

Yeah, mine said, "We regret to inform you that the Admissions Committee was not able to act favorably on your application at this time. We will keep your application on file and, if an interview position were to become available, we will contact you to learn of your availability for a personal interview. However, to be fair, this does not happen very often."

I'm taking that last part as, "This is basically a rejection."
 
Anyone get an invite from Boston Consortium or just rejections sofar? Still waiting to hear something...

"Not able to act favorably?" Does that not sound like a load of crap to anyone else? Why not just say, "We cannot offer you an interview at this time?" :laugh: That's what you get from a program affiliated w/ Harvard! I'm an MA native but didn't apply to any Harvard affiliated programs b/c I figured Harvard grads would have top choice, and my efforts (and money) would serve me better if directed elsewhere.

Sorry to everyone who's been rejected/wait-listed so far 🙁 Good luck to those who are waiting!!!

Thanks for the information! I need to keep reminding myself, "I should hear from all my sites in just 2 weeks." But these next 2 weeks seem sooooooo amazingly long and far away. :laugh:
 
Got interview offers from Children's Memorial Hospital and Connections Day School (both in Chicago or Chicagoland area) and a rejection from U of Oregon Health Science Center.

Hi everyone!! Lurking for a while....Congratulations to everyone getting interviews!! Wondering if anyone has heard either way from Bureau of Prison sites at all????!!!!!
 
Boston Consortium invites have gone out via email. Dates are same as listed on their website.
 
Ugh! Just saw that the last time I saved my CV before sending my apps it created a formatting error.

No news for me so far today. Trying to maintain my sanity.
 
is it just me or is it the WORST when someone from your program gets an interview at your top choice and you didn't!? 🙁

that certainly does not feel good. but here's a silver lining perspective: your school must be viewed pretty well if your top site is taking students from it. that means that other sites you applied to will look highly on your app since it came from that school.

my logic seems less sound after writing it out... sorry. there is still plenty of time for interviews at great sites!
 
got an interview offer from Central Alabama VA today. It was nice to get news to offset this stomach virus that I apparently have :sigh:

I also heard that a colleague got an interview at MUSC bx med - I'm crossing my fingers that one of these is coming to me soon :xf:
 
Hi Everyone:

This is my first time using this website. So far i've gotten interviews at the following places:

New Jersey VA (heard on monday AM)
Sepulveda VA
California Polytechnic Counseling center (made it to round 2 after an initial screening interview)

I am very eager to hear from these sites on west coast. Has anyone heard from any of these sites:

Long beach VA
UCLA counseling
Northern California VA
Sharp Healthcare
LA VA
Loma Linda VA in california
Hawaii VA
California State University Long Beach Counseling

I will be extremely happy if I manage to get 7 interviews. Even though this is a stressful crazy process, just remember that you are there to interview them and see if you will be happy there. So far, in my interactions with training directors, I am finding out that they are very dedicated and spend considerable time on the internship process. They are just as invested in finding the right match for their program and some of them (not all) just want to make sure you will be happy at the site! I definitely got that impression from them when they contacted me to schedule an interview. I also know several people with 2 or 3 interviews who ended up matching at a great site--so its not always a numbers game. I am trying to keep positive and doing lots of self-care lately 🙂

I'm in the waiting for dupont boat with you... I too noticed that they sent out invites around this time last year so I'm hopeful something will come soon!

Oooo, I have a lot of the same sites as you! Congrats on Sepulveda... they turned me down. Still waiting (hoping!) for something from NJ VA. I haven't heard from Long Beach VA, nor Sharp, nor LA VA (though they have sent out a batch of rejections via email), nor Loma Linda VA, nor CSU-Long Beach... anxiously awaiting word from them all too! Good luck 🙂

I got an invite for the Children and Women's PTSD rotations via email this afternoon around 3. Hope you hear something soon! :xf:

Ack, first major scheduling issue--a site that recently (yesterday) informed me of an interview offer apparently only has one of its seven dates open; unfortunately, that date is already taken up by another interview that cannot be rescheduled (I've already asked). Blech...

rejection from boston consortium...I don't think this is on here but invites from South TX (San Antonio VA) Health Psych track have gone out
 
I just got my first interview (YAY!!!) to Center for Aging Resources in Pasadena. I am BEYOND excited!! In case anyone is wondering, it came in the form of an email, personalized at least with my first name, and they are interviewing morning and afternoon on January 20th.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got an interview at UCLA Semel -- one of my top choices! However, I've already committed to other interviews for the two days that UCLA is holding open houses. In their email, UCLA said you will not be penalized for doing a phone interview, but of course, common sense and my grad school application experience has told me that it is a big disadvantage to do a phone interview rather than an in-person interivew. Neither of my other two programs will allow me to switch interview dates, leaving me with two options: Do the phone interview with UCLA Semel, or cancel the interview with one of my other sites that is not as high of a priority as UCLA. What do you guys think? Anyone heard of someone getting a site where they phone interviewed?

I got a rejection from FCI Tallahassee a couple weeks ago.

Congrats to everyone hearing good news! For the few Boston Consort people who got interviews - way to go! 👍
 
Thanks guys 🙂. I am super excited about it... I love the site, but I am also really thankful to have broken the interview ice. I did this last year and ended up with only 1 interview, to an APPIC site. I've since been having PTSD-like symptoms worrying that I'll have a repeat of no APA interviews... and this one tells me I was wrong 👍.
