Rejection from Children's Hospital Boston. Not surprised in the least; not the best match for me out of the bunch...5 invites, 2 rejections. Good luck to everyone today!

I am bringing copies of all of my materials, because it only takes a minute to print them out, and in the unlikely scenario that they are needed, I will have them. I am bringing: notebook,CV, copies of all essays, copies of supplementary materials... I also produced a psychoeducational documentary, and since my CV lists myself and the other producers as the method for procuring a copy, I am bringing a copy of the DVD. In regard to other supplementary materials, i am ONLY bringing materials that were requested by the site. For example, if site a. requested an assessment report, I will bring a copy of the one I submitted. If site B does not, I will not bring one.
I figure, it can't hurt to be over prepared. I don't have business cards, so I'm not bringing any.

Just got an interview offer to the University of Mississippi Medical Center / VA Medical Center, Jackson - Addictions track. It came via email. The email itself wasn't personalized, but it looked like it was just sent to me, so possibly they are sending each one individually with the same message.

Congrats, that's a great site--everyone from my program who's gone through there has only had great things to say about it. Many have also subsequently successfully landed excellent post-docs and academic careers, if that's your intended path.
And here's to hoping this is a (positively) busy week notifications-wise.

Only 9 more days until the 15th!!! (Of course one of my notification deadlines is the 16th 😛)
I did that same calculation yesterday: ONLY 9 more days.
So far, I have 7 interview offers (most excited about WPIC, MGH/Harvard, and Rush) and no rejections -- all Behavioral Medicine/Health Psych tracks. 😀 I hope this week will add significantly to the number of offers, as I would like to start making my travel plans. 8 more sites to hear from. And the waiting begins...
yada, what rotations did you express interest in at WPIC? i expressed interest in bmed/rotations.. im waiting to hear back from them. im starting to feel like no news is bad news, but i'm hoping not! so many people have heard from sites i haven't heard from yet!

I expressed an interest in the "multiyear clinical research track," and then stated in my cover letter which specific rotations were of interest, most of which (like you) were BMed in focus.
I'm waiting to hear from a lot of sites too. Which one's are you waiting on?

I'm counting down to the 15th as well even though one of my sites has a Dec 18 deadline (and based on the thread from last year, they waited til the very last minute). One site has a Dec. 15th deadine but they say it isn't always possible to notify everyone by th 15th, so I may have two late ones
. I wish today was the last day to notify people!!! I'm thrilled with my interviews thus far but the waiting is driving me nuts and I want to start planning travel! 😛gottchya! still waiting on mgh, duke, geisinger, and rush and a few others of less interest! the anticipation is killin me!

Has anyone else heard from Jackson? I applied to the adult track and haven't heard a word. I am hoping they are coming at different times, because I really like Jackson! 🙁
Good morning, everyone! I was wondering if anyone has been invited for an interview at the University of Chicago? I think someone posted a while back that they'd been invited, but I don't see U of C listed on the big list. Thanks!

I hope that when we all match for internship and graduate from our programs that we will do something about the internship match imbalance and the challenges of the licensure process. Psychologists complain about this constantly, but then don't do anything to change the process. I think we are the only professional field that requires this much training and supervision, and that can't place many students in decent internships. If this type of imbalance existed in medical schools, there would be a national outrage. I'm actually surprised that students who haven't matched multiple times did not sue the APA for accrediting their programs, yet not allowing them to graduate or get licensed later.

This WILL happen if the imbalance is not corrected; only a matter of time. First, someone whose program requires them to complete an APA-accredited internship will sue their program for not providing that internship. Then, students and institutions will sue the APA.

I received a U of Chicago invite on 11/22. Good luck on receiving word from them this week!
I applied there too (BMed track) and still haven't heard anything.
i haven't heard from them either, but i know someone who did... hoping to hear from them soon with good news!

I notice that Emory NP track is listed as a site that has sent out interview invites. To those invited interviewees: when did you receive word? I'm anxiously awaiting news from them. Hopefully no news is good news!

I received an email back on 11/22 or 11/23 I believe. Although as you said, no news is generally still good news; I have yet to hear from 8 of 17 sites myself, with a healthy chunk of those all coincidentally being in Texas.

Does anyone know if rejections come later than invites? It seems that our list of interview invites is way longer than the rejection list so i'm wondering if there is a pattern or if people are just more likely to report invites. I've only gotten rejected from one site so far, but haven't heard from 13 or so others and have gotten a bunch of interviews. Maybe most of the rejections will come around the 15th?

There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of nationwide rhyme or reason to the process. However, I wouldn't be surprised if some sites do hang on to a stack of multiple "maybe" applications after initial offers and rejections have been sent. This way, programs can fill unaccepted or vacated interview dates as they begin hearing back from applicants.

Ack, had to turn down an interview offer because I was already booked and unable to reschedule on their only available date. And unfortunately, they aren't doing telephone interviews.
Not a good feeling, especially as that was only my fifth offer thus far. Hopefully I can continue to go at least 50/50 on my remaining sites to help alleviate my mild level of panic.

I have a few interviews lined up within the next month. Any advice on what goes on in a group and individual interview, how to approach it, what to look for, what to be prepared for? I have my first group interview on Thursday!

Congratulations! 🙂 I applied to their adult program, but have not heard anything yet. Both experiences look amazing, plus New Mexico is absolutely beautiful!

If you match there, and internship allows you to have a life on the weekends, you will find some of the most beautiful scenery and best hiking in the country. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.
