It was a personalized email from the TD for the standard track. It may take a while as he's sending them out individually. Not sure if it's in alphabetical order, but I'm a 'D' just in case.
This is starting to feel really awful... more no's than yes's so far.
lol! I love how we try to figure out their method! If you are a D, and it takes 2 minutes to send out an email, then because I'm an M, I should be receiving an email in approximately 1 hour and 14 minutes, provided that the TD doesn't take breaks..(j/k)

And I'm an S, so 2 hours and 4 minutes for me, provided they're sending out neuropsych invites as well... 🙂
This is maddening!
This might be an odd question, but a classmate and I were talking about it, so I thought I'd get people's opinions. If you're not home for weeks at a time, how do you clean your clothes when your jumping from city to city on interviews?

Some hotels have washing machines and driers.
I've thought about something along these lines: I have more than one suit, but just one suit that I love & trust enough to wear to every interview. The only word I've heard thus far is one rejection so it's possible I won't even run into this, but wearing the same suit multiple days in a row without the chance for a good dry cleaning? Sounds... risky.

If worse comes to worst, perhaps change out the shirts (and be sure to wear undershirts as well) if nothing else?

In case anyone else is waiting to hear back from URMC (child track) the interview dates offered in the email are: 12/17, 1/7, 1/14, 1/21
I'll be keeping my fingers crossed tomorrow for all of us waiting on the Boston Consortium email...seems like a good number of us will writing in tomorrow, hopefully with good news!
This is my first post, I applied to 15 programs, all health psych. Got a rejection from Rush, will hear from Boston Consortium tomorrow. Am getting more and more anxious reading these posts...I applied to UW Madison's school of med, Arkansas VA, Durham VA, and haven't heard anything from them. I see that others have already received invites from these sites...leaves me feeling a tad hopeless and wondering if I should be anticipating a rejection from these sites. Aahh!! This is crazy-making for sure. Best of luck to everyone!!

VA Portland sent an email letting some of us know that we're still in the running. They had 176 applicants, retained 108, and will go down to the final top 40 who will get invites to their Open House on 1/6/11. He promised to let us know by 12/15 if not earlier. It was a very nice e-mail.

Got an interview invite from Harvard/Mass General CBT track. Invite came via email at 6:00 pm EST. Interview dates are 1/7 and 1/14.
Has anyone heard anything (or know anyone who has) for the Harvard Mass General BMED track?
I just heard from Maimonedes and two of my friends heard earlier in the day. They must be notifying people based on alphabetical order. I have also heard from Interfaith and NJVA.
I got that e-mail too. Just like with the Boston Consortium e-mail, I had to read it several times before I got understood what was going on. Phew!

I don't have them written down. I accepted the 18th in January and I believe the 20th was an option also. There was also a december 15th. Sorry I'm not more helpful. Ill see if I can find the page I wote down the dates for. I remember a bunch in early January.

On the subject of laundry: I bought a portable clothes steamer to steam out wrinkles. Takes a while, but works!! Also, many hotels have laundry and dry cleaning services.

In addition to the lint roller and Febreeze, I'd recommend shoe polish* and a nicely pressed shirt before each interview. I was able to travel with a suit bag and my shirts wrapped in individual hanging bags from the cleaners, which allowed me to skip the $5+/shirt pressing charge at the hotel. A former biz mentor of mine gave me the tip that individually bagging each shirt cuts down on the amount of friction exerted on the shirts, which reduces the likelihood of wrinkles. Go figure.
I carried around a hand steamer with me, but I had mixed results. Hanging a shirt/pants/whatever in the bathroom while you shower can help, as can some touch up ironing. I prefer to travel with multiple suit options (another hold over from my biz travels), but you can get by with one suit as long as you take care of it. Sites understand the financial limitations of the interview process, so don't worry about bringing a ton of options. I interviewed at a place where the girl's bag was sent with the wrong flight, and she interviewed in jeans and a knock-around shirt. Life happens. It can be helpful to travel in business attire (if you can do it comfortably). I've found I rarely get flagged for searches and in the event my bags disappears, I can still look good even if I have a valid excuse.
*A sharply dressed person with unpolished shoes sticks out. You don't need $500 shoes, just treat your $30 shoes with some care.

Thanks! And yes, I received the initial email at midnight, replied with my preferred interview date, and just received a reply from the training director confirming the interview date. Fingers crossed interns don't work this late!
