I had an internship dream the other night -in my dream, one of my favorite sites rejected me TWICE via e-mail (separate days and different rejection letters) but then they called me, assured me that both rejections were a mistake and set up an in-person interview :laugh: Too bad in real life this site already rejected me via snail mail 🙁 I'll still wait for their phone call ya know...just in case...😛 (kidding).

Yes! Last night I dreamed I got snail mail letters from Brown and MassGen, both saying they would like to offer me interviews and take back their prior rejections! Except in the dream I was Britney Spears and I lived on Pandora (the Avatar planet).

First rejection: U of Maine CC. It was one of my top sites. 🙁 Their e-mail just said "please see attached", and they had a personalized letter.

5 interviews, 1 rejection, 11 to hear from. Going to be a busy week. Hopefully a few more interviews are mixed in there somewhere.
 
rejections from the west haven va and dc va. only 4 more places to hear from and only 2 interviews. FREAKING OUT! 🙁

LOL! I live in Miami, FL. I don't really want to leave the Miami area, but I applied to two sites in Gainesville and Tallahassee just in case.

I called right at 8AM and I was the 2nd caller. Three other applicants called while I was on the line. There is only 1 administrative assistant handling the scheduling of all of us, and she already sounded like she was going crazy. I apologized on behalf of all of us for what we're going to put her through over the next few days. She was extremely nice so, please, give her a break and be patient with her when you call to schedule your interviews. You may have to wait on the line for a while.

Has anyone heard from Illinois School Psychology Internship consortium? They were suppose to send out acceptance/rejections by the 10th and I am still waiting to hear...??? Thanks! 🙂
 
I felt that way too, especially because everyone had heard except myself. Surprisingly, some interview offers come in "waves" so stay optimistic!

Yes. If you haven't heard if you got an interview, rejection or waitlist, I would call them, esp if you haven't heard by the end of the day. I got an email from them along with my invite, saying that they had my email wrong.

My top site forgot to email me as well, and it turned out that I had an interview! 😀
 
Just got a phone call from U. Tenn - St. Jude Track for an interview!

They are offering interviews from the 3rd to the 20th of Jan. Good look other peds people!
 
YaY!!!! I've been waiting on this one! Mass email invite went out this am. Interview dates 1/7, 1/14, 1/21 :luck:

CONGRATS!!! *REALLY* hoping they call me soon 😳 I just hope they aren't going in alphabetical order- my last name starts with a B!
 
hey guys, just got a personalized invite via email to interview at the Southeast Louisiana VA in New Orleans. Interview dates are 1/3, 1/4, 1/10, 1/11, and 1/18. Interviews begin at 9:00 am and will conclude later in the afternoon around 3-4 pm.

Still waiting to hear from Vanderbilt/Nashville VA, Memphis VA, Honolulu VA, and Houston VA. Expecting a rejection from Vanderbilt given others have heard (I know, I know--not a guarantee). Good luck everyone!

Ringo--- I totally understand wanting to stay in FL/warm weather! I'm a FL native and moved away for grad school. It's SNOWING outside right now and all I can think about is sunny beaches, palm trees, and rushing through today so I can call UM/JMH tomorrow at 8am!!!! Hopefully they're offering other days because I already have something scheduled.

Good luck to everyone today! At least we'll know somewhat definitively where we stand come Wednesday. I have 5 interviews and still have 6 to hear from! :xf:
 
Is it rude to tell a site you can't make an interview date/time and request another since you have an interview already scheduled elsewhere? I don't want to say I am just generally 'unavailable' since they may wonder what is so important I can't make their interview time... This particular site has gotten back to me very late and the one day and time they offered me, I am out of town attending another interview...

I've already had to attempt rescheduling two interviews for this reason. I simply say that I have a prior obligation on that date which cannot be rescheduled (assuming this is true), and ask if there are any other dates/times available. They may not be able to accommodate you, but in both my experiences thus far, all involved sites have at least been very polite.

If they aren't able to get you a new date from those they originally provided, you can see if they'd be willing to do a telephone interview, or to allow for a visit on an alternative date. Not all sites are open to this, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Just received a personalized interview invite email from the UCSF/ SFGH Child and Adolescent Services Multicultural Training Program!! The email stated that they would contact me later to schedule dates. 😍
 
May be more relevant for school psych people (although I know clinical folks apply, too) Just received an interview with Virginia Beach City Public Schools (so psyched, my top choice at this point!). I am interested in the pediatric neuropsych track. Interview dates are 1/7, 1/10, 1/12, or 1/14 at 9:30am, 10:30am or 1pm.
 
I'm still waiting to hear from 7 sites! Has anyone heard from University of Washington School of Med or America Lake VA?

Maybe it's a "grass is greener" sort of thing, but I LOVE cold weather! My biggest pet peeve about it, however, is having to layer on clothing to leave the house only to have to peel it all off when you go into a building. Then, you have to carry it around with you and then put it all back on again to leave. It annoys me so much! LOL!

My real reason for staying in FL is simply my family and friends. I lived away for 2 years and hated it. I hope I don't have to go through that again for internship, but I'll do it if I have to.

Also, I do think they are offering different days for Jackson interviews. It looks like they have people already assigned based on what you're interviewing for but then they'll move you if necessary. I could hear her flipping through a scheduling book when we were talking about the dates and times for the interviews.

I am wearing a hair piece for at least one of my interviews, and got my hair highlighted to match (needed to get my highlights touched up anyway). I had a dream that I went to the appointment and forgot the piece, and there wasn't time to go home and get it. In real life this wouldn't be a big deal (I don't NEED my fancy hair thing) but in my dream it was extremely stressful!

I suppose...not sure they are required... but I haven't heard of people simply not hearing.

I am still waiting on 13 sites (and to hear back from one I had to request a visit from b/c they don't invite people). Not a peep so far today... Waiting in the airport to go to my 1st interview and I should be prepping but I just want to keep refreshing my email! 😎

I literally just got my rejection from Vanderbilt. I was expecting it so the blow wasn't too bad. I hope you fare better than me! I am also waiting on Memphis VA. At least I got an interview from West Haven Va this morning! 1-1 today.

I spoke too soon! Just got an invite from Hutchings Psychiatric Center. Another one I applied to last yr but didn't get invited too 🙂 🙂 Dates are every Monday, Weds and Fri in January.

Dreams are so awesome. In my experience, dream symbols having to do with the head, such as hair or hats or hair pieces, usually have something to do with your thinking.... perhaps it symbolized forgetting to bring with you an important piece of information... now that WOULD BE stressful! Make sure you are prepared today and good luck!😛

i was rejected by an actual letter about 2 weeks ago. It was an extreme long shot but they have a very nice rejection letter. Good luck!
 
Got an invite to Temple Tuttleman CC this afternoon with plenty of dates in January.

I'm currently and intern at a site in the Illinois School Psychology Internship Consortium. I know my site has reviewed apps and determined who to interview, but I'm not sure if notifications have gone out yet. I finally got an interview!!!!!! 😀 Got an email (generic) from the Central Virginia Consortium for Clinical Psychology. At least I have 1 interview! Still waiting to hear from 13 sites. I figured I would have heard more by now! I guess the next 2 days will be busy!
 
Does anyone not like to interview on the first day of interviews? I don't want to be overshadowed by the recency effect :laugh:
