I STILL haven't gotten my secondary. Do they screen? Anyone else not have theirs yet?

I still have not gotten a secondary either. Maybe they screen...

I submitted 7/29/2012 and still haven't received a secondary completed email... is anyone else in the same boat?

I'm an OOS applicant with GPA > 3.6 and MCAT > 35.

Good luck with your applications!

I suspected so. thank you. I know that Sinai's MCAT avg is around 35, which is often disheartening for me..lol

Could someone post the link they got in their email to the secondary?

Congrats! When did you submit/when was your application complete?

Oops, Sorry I normally would have said that in my initial post but I was using my phone. I submitted 8/6 and got an "application received" email 8/7 but never got a complete email. Good luck! :luck:

Wow Tatertots!!!! Just looked at your MDapps profile. Might as well change your name to Doctor Tatertots!! Congrats on your application successes. Only thing my kid has in common with you is that both of you are interview hold at UCD. Wish you success with all your interviews.

completed here within the the last 2 days of july and just got an interview invite for the 21st!

so excited for thie opportunity to attend mount sinai.

good luck to everyone!

It was actually closer to 36 for the current first year class. But the MCAT is only one part of the process. It's very holistic and subjective.

And for us too, I think we were 35.6 (c/o 2015).

Feel free to post if you have questions about Sinai!

Well now I feel like a fool for applying with 34...

But I don't feel underwhelmed for no II yet.

Congrats! Did you just get the invite today?-just wondering so the rest of us know where we stand time wise-Thanks!

Dont count yourself out yet! I got a II with a 34! Complete 8/1!

Finally got this secondary in. Took a lot longer than I expected, but I think it's good that I gave it the time it took to write good essays. Fingers crossed.

Hm does anyone know if Mount Sinai screens for secondaries? I was verified 8/2 and have heard nothing from them (3.9/38). I'm wondering if I should give them a call...

...so I failed to distinguish between Harlem and the rest of Manhattan when talking about the location of Mt. Sinai Medical Center (I said it was in 'between Harlem and Manhattan') for my Why Mt. Sinai essay 😕

Any point in worrying about it? Should I perhaps email them to correct that statement? I feel like an idiot right now...

Anyone have any success/get a response from an "in the area" email with Sinai?

I've tried communicating with them by email a few times with no luck, even before application season. You should probably try calling instead.

I also didn't get my secondary invite for ages. I finally called them yesterday, they sent it to me right away, and I submitted last night. This also happened to one of my friends, not sure why it seems like a lot of people didn't get their secondary...

Just got an interview invite. I live in California, though, and applied to a number of east coast schools (I'm from DC). Anyone know if it's bad to try and reschedule an interview? They assigned me September 25th but since they are the first I've heard from from the east coast (second overall), I basically want to see if I can group other potential interviews around that time so as not to have to travel more than once, if possible.

I think you should go for it but don't push it back too much - I think that interviewing earlier could be to your advantage because they have a rolling admissions process.

I called to reschedule mine and it was super easy. They didn't even offer me other dates, they just asked when I wanted to interview(Tuesday-Friday) and gave me the date I requested in October.

I wouldn't worry about it, especially for someone who isn't native to NYC. If you want, you could politely e-mail and change the word "Manhattan" to "Upper East Side," but I don't think it's necessary and I probably wouldn't do it myself.

I was about to call them on Monday but checked my email first, and guess what appeared there? Maybe your call triggered my secondary too, haha.

Just got an II. Does anyone know how receptive they are to rescheduling earlier interviews? Mine is already sort of late and I dont want them to reschedule it later. In order to make it work though, I would have to reschedule a trip to visit a friend that I already have planned.

Thanks!

When were you complete?

Got an interview invite today for 9/29. Complete 8/6, 3.94/38Q

The admissions office is super receptive to interview change requests. The only difficulty is if the dates prior to your dates have all been filled up already, then I can see how that would be an issue. Just give it a shot! The people who work in the office are really friendly and will try to make it work.

Stupid question here: Did Sinai send out "complete" emails? I only got one that said "application received"?

I only got an application received email. I think that's all there is.

Has anyone else gotten an invitation to apply to PORTAL? Is anyone thinking about it?

+1 still waiting on news from Sinai though. "app-received" email on Aug 6th. Sent an in-the-area Aug 15. No response

Did anyone else get an invitation to apply for their 5 year dual degree MD/Masters in Clinical Research (MSCR) program? I got the interview invite recently and then got an invitation to apply to this program later. Wasn't sure if it is something that they send out to everyone.

Thanks!
