Y'all are underachieving for sure.... Wtf kind of defense were they playing?

I love the support for the bills here! I have been faithful since I was about 4 years old. Despite the heartbreaks, I will always be a fan.

Any insight on interview?? I have it in couple of weeks! Also is it closed or open file? Is it 2 interviewers?

Interview is very relaxed, a mix of conversation and more prepared questions. Two interviewers, usually one faculty and one student; both interviews are open file. Expect them to last 30mins to an 1hour. Very chill day.

Accepted!!!!!! IS, 3.9+ cGPA, 31 MCAT, interviewed 10/24/2012!!!!!!!!!!

Wowwww just realized i forgot to pay for their application fee, and I just paid it today. IM SO DUMB.

Do people actually get rejected from here? It appears to me, at least from sdn, that people are either placed on waitlist or accetped...

Yes. There are those that are not accepted.

Accepted!
First one so I'm thrilled!
OOS 3.6 / 35

Edit: Does anyone know if UB accommodates students changing their state of residency after their 1st year to obtain cheaper tuition rates?

Waitlisted 🙁 3.9, 38, OOS

I'm kind of sad, I really liked the people at this school

Any recent II from here? I've been interviewed at the other 3 SUNYs, suprised by their silence as I've been complete since early August.

Right now it seems like a long wait until February/March to hear about waitlist position/movement . . .

Same. Really hoping for an interview at here.

Same here. I have close ties to Buffalo. My in-laws live there, and my wife is from there. I've done pretty well with other state schools, but still no word for buffalo and it was among my top choices. I've been complete there for a while though and am starting to get concerned.

No secondary yet? I submitted mid-to late oct (primary) and haven't got a secondary- do they screen?

Waitlisted. OOS. Really loved the school and really sad that I am waitlisted 🙁

So I called them today because I was waitlisted. I asked them why I was placed on the wait list and how I can improve my application. They told me that they only do that for rejected applicants and that I still have a good chance of getting in. yay.

Hi guys, is there a place to check the status?

Anyone get an II with a 29 mcat? I have a 29q and 3.6. In-state. Submitted secondary in August and haven't heard yet...

Received an interview invite and acceptance offer with 28Q and 3.7 GPA this cycle (in-state). Good luck.

Complete here since end of August.
cGPA: 3.45 MCAT: 36Q
Instate.

I know my GPA is low, but has anyone had luck with similar stats?
Is Buffalo receptive to pre-interview letters of interest? Would I send that to James Rosso?
I'm just gettig antsy...Thanks!!

I emailed Mr. Rosso and he told me they do not accept update or interest letters pre-II. :/

I called Mr. Rosso a couple of weeks ago and he said that their reviewing process is random, and they waitlist most of the interviewees anyway so interviewing late isn't necessarily a bad thing at Buffalo. So I wouldn't worry about it. I am sure you'll get an II with those stats.

Does anybody know if there is a second look weekend in the spring?
Also, I've recently found out that it is possible to switch to a NY state resident for SUNY Upstate (After the 1st year), is this the case for Buffalo too?

I have been told it is possible for Stony Brook as well, so my guess is that it can be done for Buffalo as well

Thank you so much. Even the smallest positive talk or reassurance does wonders for us at this point in the game 😀

I had similar stats (better mcat than gpa) as an OOS applicant, interviewed mid October and was accepted the next day.
I don't know if they're receptive to pre interview updates but you can certainly call and find out. The entire admissions office was very friendly and I'm sure they'll accommodate you.
I hope it works out for you!

I think they invite all the superstar applicants this early in the season. I have friends who interviewed in March last cycle and our now attending so no need to worry yet

when did your friend get invited for an interview?
